It's a hoax written to con wealthy people out of money. There are almost NO errors in the hand written book. Copying an imaginary alphabet and reusing character strings to approximate language is fucking easy to do when you legit cannot make a mistake because it doesn't make sense anyway. Writing a real language in a similar fashion is easy to make a mistake in. How often do you hit backspace? I've hit it at least three times just writing this out.

Gib money now pls.

And on this, the shittiest of all of the days in history, OP reached the ultimate level of faggotry. It was so intense that all cities within a 400 mile radius were bulldozed by a wave of intense awfulness, and all of their inhabitants were violated in every way known to man, and 57 ways previously unknown.

It's an early Renaissance manuscript about cosmology, herbalism, biology, astronomy and pharma. You need a Cardan grille to read it, that's why no one ever managed to decipher the text.

If you want to hear my prediction, then here it goes:

Some latin-fag was relaxing n shit, then suddenly they accidentally ate some Ergot fungus on some greens-related food and began to trip balls, since Ergot has a similar composition to LSD

Then, while he high, he found a book and began writing in it a bunch of undecipherable chicken scratch in latin, which would explain why some of it is in latin; the rest is bullshit noone can read.

He then drawn pictures (obviously) not knowing that they were unexplainable, then he fell asleep and died, and the book remained there until now.

There is no solving this shit. It was just a crazy imaginative book written by someone years ago in the same way someone might have a crazy-ass sketchbook now. It was either done as a hoax at the time, or just as a folly, or flight of fancy, whatever you want to call it. There is no sense to be made.

if it's shit what was it retouched afterwards? Granted books were valuable just for being books, but I'm sure it's functional. I don't see why someone who knows calligraphy would just write a book full with gibberish. Thinking it may have been some pagan/heathen knowledge going on here. That or it's erotic literature disguised as an "encyclopaedia".

The author was a stoner tho, I think we all can agree on that.

Computer aren't autonomous yet anon. I wish. There was a software engineer in early 2000 who wrote a program with similar results, so that might be an indication. That said I don't understand why they haven't just digitalised all the letters and released it to the internet for the neets to analyse.

Guess the round ones would be hard. My guess is that each page had it's own Cardan Grille, prolly tied together in a secondary booklet. There's still some latin wording here and there, maybe it indicated which decipher page to use.

About the origin or why it was coded IDK. All I know is Italy was a shithole in the 15th. Well still is, but you get my drift.

Welp, humans are masters at deceit. I could see some stoner scribble trying to sell this to a lord claiming it contains ancient secret knowledge. Then again it's quite elaborate and he still would have to pay for all the materials. But I find it implausible since there is so much effort involved.

There is speculation that one of the plants is a new-world sunflower. And since the author fucks up many other plant pics I assume he never saw most plans (other than the hemp) irl. Maybe it's some "coded" new world knowledge, but honestly this is all speculation.
