I had my left leg removed from hip down about two years ago, because of a tumor in my thigh bone which was malignant and would otherwise have spread up to my lungs.
So while Dishonored 2 finishes downloading, ask an amputee anything, /b/.
I'll bump the thread with random pictures.
Do you basically just get to be a lazy shit now?
>>736404135
So you have lots of free time to play games, eat good food and take mild drugs.
Are there any disadvantages besides not having leg?
How about your financial situation.
U ever fucked a girl with yo stump?
>>736404135
How close are the koreans to building you a robotic leg?
>>736404241
Hip-down. Means he has no stump. Only other leg and dick.
>>736404215
I live in Singapore, which is decidedly the opposite of a cuck welfare state. I could be a lazy shit if I wanted to, but I'd live with the absolute minimum of comforts in some shitty 1 room ghetto flat. Not down for that life.
>>736404291
Unfortunate friendo. You still get free money for it at least though, right?
>>736404226
When a girl rejects you, obviously they'll tell you they rejected you for reasons that have nothing to do with the disability, but there's always that gnawing uncertainty. You'll never ever really know. But apart from that, nothing major if you live in a decent place.
My parents are rich enough to be able to send me to university, so I can't complain about my financial situation really.
>>736404241
Nope. It's too...broad a surface. If I did go about doing so hypothetically, I suppose a girl could grind on it?
>>736404252
Not very close. The Asian industries prefer mass-marketable shite, so they wouldn't be the folks who build robot legs. That's the Americans and Germans, who have made the most progress.
I'd give it about ten years before I get a prosthetic that matches to a satisfactory degree the functions of a regular leg.
>>736404135
are you an amputee

I could apply for grants and shite if I came from a low-income background, in which case the state would take care of a number of things. But I don't - so I don't really get free money for it.
I do get plenty of free stuff though. Like everyone assumes I'm so brave and wise and shit. That pays serious dividends if you milk it judiciously.

Do you ever feel like the leg is still there?
Like getting an itch or something?
>>736404680
Yup, my phantom limb is there all the time. I can feel the whole thing to an eerie level of detail - down to the foot, the heel each of the five toes and all.
>>736404728
That sounds really annoying for you anon.
How much does the phantom pain hurt and is there anything you can do to help alleviate the pain?
Also, how old are you? Did you find it hard to mentally adjust, like, did you get depressed about your situation?
Hope these questions aren't too personal.
what limb got amputated
>>736404728
That's crazy.
So if you closed your eyes and reached out to where the leg should be, in your mind it feels like it's there?
>>736404852
Don't worry anon, the intent to answer personal questions is why I'm here.
>how much does the phantom pain hurt?
In the beginning - maybe the first two weeks after - it hurt like the nine hells would. I contemplated suicide several times those two weeks out of nothing but the thought of freedom from simple physical pain.
These days it doesn't hurt at all. I just feel the leg there, but the leg isn't in pain.
>How old are you
I'm turning 19 this year.
>Did you get depressed
I did have a few months of what probably was depression (I never went to see a doctor about it or anything) but I don't think it had anything to do with the amputation directly. It was more a whole package of issues that led to it I suspect - academic pressure, not being able to live up to a few specific ambitions I had, being in love with someone whom I was absolutely certain didn't reciprocate my feelings, and such.
>>736404854
Left leg
>>736404855
It's exactly like that. In fact I don't even have to close my eyes. It's always there. I can feel it right now. Obviously if I reached out with my hand to touch, my hand wouldn't feel anything.
>>736404135
be a motivational speaker. all you gotta do is talk about how great life is while interspersing stuff about losing your leg. people will turn their wallets inside out for you.
why was it amputated
>>736405300
Not sure if I want to be a shill for an arbitrary life circumstance. Or at least I wouldn't want to be so outright and open with it.
Maybe I'll open a startup, be the one-legged CEO or something and then get with those speeches. That'll be fun.
>>736405446
Because of something I saw on 4chan, probably.
>>736404267
Sounds like u got fucked with his stump u pussy
how many blackbeard era pirates do you think it would take to kill a fully grown T-Rex
>>736405167
Thanks for replying and answering my questions. I'm glad to hear you're not in pain anymore and that you're getting on in life.
>>736405884
One schooner's crew with a competent captain could do it, assuming the folks were armed decently and their gunpowder was fresh.
>>736405903
My pleasure. Have a nice day anon.
>>736404135
but that is his right leg, r u dense too?
>>736406100
Lmao that actually slipped my mind I am dense
>>736404135
How did you know you had a tumor in your thigh in the first place?
>>736406221
Doctors detected something suspicious during my routine annual health checkup and scans, and sent me for more scans, and that's how they found it.
>>736406301
Had you ever felt any pain, or have any issues, prior to the test? In other words, if you didn't identify the issue during your routine checkup would it have gone completely unnoticed?
>>736406384
Yep. I never felt any pain nor detected anything unusual in my leg by myself. If not for the checkup, it would have gone unnoticed until the growth was too large for me to survive it.
It's pretty scary.
>>736404536
>That pays serious dividends if you milk it judiciously.
Elaborate
>>736406469
For instance, I could write a college admissions essay about how tough I am having survived cancer and the amputation and squirrel away with a scholarship.
Just one example, off the top of my head.
>>736406455
Wow, yeah that is kinda scary. Well that sucks you lost a leg OP but its better than wasting away to lung cancer. Hang in there, I am sure we will have amazing robotic alternatives for you in a few years.
>>736406636
I'm counting on it. Thanks anon.
>>736404135
What's it like having a dick as long as your leg?
>>736406883
I get to make the joke that I had to remove my leg to compensate for my dick being too long.

>>736404135
Do you still feel like the leg is there? from time to time i feel this pain like the tip of my fingers still there but it was removed do to a accident with a glass plate window and could not be put back on..
>>736407177
Depends. Some people's phantom limbs are in perpetual pain, and for some people the pain i on and off. The intensity of the pain also varies.
I'm exceptionally lucky in that about 2 week after the surgery my phantom limb has never hurt at all. I've done my research, and my case appears to be more an exception than a norm.
>>736407274
Isn't The Burbs some old tv show
>>736407277
Yup, I feel the leg still there, but the leg doesn't hurt.

>>736404135
>what did they do with your leg ? Use for students or just trash it ? Can you ask it back ?
>>736407524
I donated it for research, of course. There was a fairly rare bone tumor in it which would be useful for the laboratories.
>>736407521
Nope, I live in Singapore fam. Wrong guy. Sorry :/
>>736407630
Ahhh fuck. Thought I found me m8

I would have kept it in a fish tank full of embalming fluid. Or at least part of it, and donate the rest to science.
