Cancer is most definitely not fake however I think many people would not die from the cancer they get if they just changed their lifestyle. I don't mean just eat a serving of veggies with your meals either. 1 year ago after a 12 year relationship I woke up 400 lbs and after a doctors visit prediabetic or even diabetic just in a grey area. Also the lack of eating was making the muscle I did have from lugging all my weight around for so long start to shrink. I am now at no more then 300 and while I still am only half way there other changes have made me cringe knowing that I didnt start sooner. My blood sugar is normal and the rash I had under the man tits I had is gone. Similar injuries too a foot that I had a few years ago and last month are night and day. When I was fat it took a damn year to heal a cut that took me weeks now and I can only imagine the injury's or disease inside me have started healing most likely saving my life. (specially the pack a day burn on my lungs). If you have cancer work out.or die.

As for the santa thing, how can lying to a child about such a thing be a positive thing. It *can* create a subconscious trust issue between parent and child (not always but can). The positives of getting them to bed early for one night a year doesn't seem perpetuating such a lie all year round.

I actually feel quite strongly about this. I think bad parenting is the reason our society is failing, because all the problems we have could have been solved in advanced if people weren't fucking lazy.

Realistically you wont know where your kid is all the time if you let them go outside. You can tell them their boundaries, you can ask them to tell you where they're going, but at a certain point they will be able to essentially do what they want and you wouldnt know unless something went wrong.

This is actually an *incredibly* important facet of childhood development. The ability of children to be away from supervision of adults and to have to make their own choices/decisions (which may contradict with yours or even be mildly dangerous) is necessary for the growing brain of a being who will one day need to leave home/be self-sufficient, as is natural for our species and many others

Knowing this to me I see nothing wrong with a mother simply telling her kid to play outside, and not stray too far. In this way you directly give them that freedom without requiring that your kid learn to disobey you to fulfill basic needs (the instinct to pull away from your parents and go on your own, to test the world).
