Got any old hard drives? The magnets in those are very strong compared to normal ones, don't get your fingers between them. Stick to his hard drive and move it around, should corrupt enough to make it unusable. Most of the time it also wipes the internal data the drive uses as landmarks to locate the heads, then it's really fucked.

Requires physical access but less than 5 min worth of work, including getting magnets from an old drive.

Make a .bat file to delete a sensitive system file, disguise it as a harmless program on the desktop. You can even add it to run on startup, so call it something like "(program name) Update v4.1," or something. Also, for extra destruction, completely destroy the BIOS, rendering the computer trashed completely, or add a BIOS password so your family member cant boot from a different OS and recover any unaffected files.

Turn machine off, unplug from wall, hold power button for 30s to discharge board.

Take a needle and poke holes in some or all the electrolytic capacitors on the board. Plug back in and leave. When he goes to turn it on, either it'll work.. for a while.. then slow down, give RAM errors, and otherwise be a nuisance. Or it's possible that the capacitors will immediately start leaking and smoking and the machine will die pretty quickly. I haven't done it myself but this is a surefire way to kill a motherboard. His data will be okay.

Hard drive destruction is another way, but it's a serious asshole move if the data is irreplaceable.

If u just want the data gone nuke the ssd only for 3 seconds and it's done. Dban would work too but the ssd will still work as well, not really killing anything that can't be fixed by reinstalling windows.

If u wanna just make the computer have a slow death, remove the CPU heatsink wipe off the thermal compound and reinstall. Be even funnier if u nuked the hdd and then ran ubcd with a CPU stress test.

Poking the caps make it slow and painful too but no guarantee of data loss.

But my favorite is simply throwing the box out of a window or shooting it with a large caliber bullet like a nigger should be treated.
