It litterally took 2 years for Obamacare to even be accepted as a liable option by the GOP. It was shot down and delayed for the same reason's Trump's healthcare registration was.

It was going to be better and everyone was gonna love it.... Except everyone including people in trumps own party hated it (for reasons on both extreme ends of the spectrum).

This guy is smarter than most of Congress. He got tired of disrupting businesses, now he is disrupting the Federal Government. It is like he rooted capitalism and is in the middle of one big debug session of the kernal of America. This is just a process survey to see what threads are using up too many resources and what code is poorly written.

IMO the whole health care bill was one big scarecrow / honeypot process to see how the OS acts when their resources are threatened. Then the bad code is eliminated and debugged with better code for more use throughput.

The beltway will not know what hit them right after 4th of July break.

Not that anon, but let's face it, both "typical" libtards and poltards get into sperg ad hominem attacks easily. It's what that vocal - often more radical - minority (however big a portion of the group they are) tends to do, they sperg out and keep spamming their deluded and skewed views with at most 1 or 2 actual valid points drowned out by cherry-picked data/images and plain nonsense.

Especially online and places like 4chan where they actively look for one another to continue these petty fights, you'll come across that (radical) minority much more than the moderate people with at least some common sense and/or ability to consider different views.

Pic very much related; to easily 90% of political/religious/etc. topics on the internet and shown in the media - drama sells better than "intellectual" and respectful discussions.

As a Bong, this looks like "delusion - the post"

The Republicans control all three parts of the legislature. Trump criticised Hilary (and no, I'm not re-fighting the US election, just measuring the man against his promises) personally about not doing anything as a senator, which showed his lack of grasp of how politics in and democracy works. Trump claimed to be the consummate deal-maker and yet he failed to do a deal to pass one of his key campaign promises.

Don't forget - Trump chose to put this bill forward now. What you don't do, as a CEO or CiC, is to put one of your key resources in harm's way to scout out the lie of the land in congress.

From over the pond this looks like mismanagement of the highest order, accompanied by the sound of chickens coming home to roost. I feel sorry for the USA, I really do, that your "CEO" is going to have to learn about politics in such a public way, because he is notoriously thin-skinned and won't take defeats well.

This. The way he lashed out at Democrats after his bill failed was disgraceful. And why did he do that? Because he couldn't do a deal to make it pass. He also chose to send it there at this time.

Don't try to make him out to be somehow in control of this.
>>
>>726793364
He told them to pull it because it was a shit bill that has his name on it. People call the bill Trump care, and he doesn't want to soil his presidency so early with such a massively terrible piece of legislation.
>>
>>726793364
Yeah? Why did he do that? Is it because he didn't support the legislation that he pushed HARD for the last few weeks? Or because he didn't want to record a loss in the books?

Do you think you can somehow spin this into a positive for Donnie?
>>
>>726793520
Building on this point - he shouldn't need the support of the Democrats to pass a key piece of Republican legislation; after all, the Republicans control both houses and this should be a walk in the park. It failed because a Republican president can't command a Republican majority within weeks of a Republican election victory.

Any fingers pointed at the Democrats is a smoke-screen and shit-tier deflection.

Here's what Trump promised over and over and over:
"Jan. 24, 2015, in a speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit:

“Somebody has to repeal and replace Obamacare. And they have to do it fast and not just talk about it.”
Feb. 9, 2016, on Twitter:

We will immediately repeal and replace ObamaCare - and nobody can do that like me. We will save $'s and have much better healthcare!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 9, 2016
Advertisement
Feb. 22, 2016, at a campaign rally:

“Obamacare is going to be repealed and replaced. … You’re going to end up with great health care for a fraction of the price and that’s gonna take place immediately after we go in. Okay? Immediately. Fast. Quick.”
March 3, 2016, on his campaign website (on a page that has since been deleted):

“On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare.”
I only cite slate for more quotes by Trump, nothing else:
http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2017/03/24/trump_says_he_never_promised_to_repeal_obamacare_quickly_a_list_of_times.html

Should you make such strong promises when you aren't absolutely sure you can deliver? Has he truly, honestly delivered? Are you as confident that he'll deliver on everything else he promised in the future?

I'm genuinely curious, so I'm not trying to be a dick.
>>
>>726795912
>Now the Democrats are defending this piece of crap as their most important piece of legislation?

Not even Dems like ACA - it is only a compromise with conservatives on the road to proper universal healthcare ... which is what Progressives actually want.

ACA is a bit shitty.

Pre-ACA was a double-decker shit sandwich that was lit on fire with napalm and about to consume the middle class.

any "group" that your company relies on, is costing the company money.

if what your saying is true, all major companies, apart from the chinese companies, would be in cahoots, in extension would mean all companies in a nutshell are run by the one company.

which means, any individual person can destroy an arm of the company by creating competition.

Well it broke. It was the plan that resulted in Romneycare after a whole heap of dickering by the Democrats in Massachusetts's state legislature.

This kind of intellectual laziness and dishonesty is what they are defending right now.

Irrespective, if it's that shitty, and it's Democrat, why didn't the Republicans just kick it out yesterday? At the moment they can do exactly what they want.

You have to take into account the concessions demanded by the Republicans when in opposition, when they held the government to ransom by refusing to pass the Federal budget.

Bill fails not because of democrats. Bill failed because it was not was promised. The promise was a better option where no one gets fucked. "3 phase plan" is double talk for "We will save you from us once we almost kill you and look like the hero who saved your life and distract you from the fact that we saved you from us." Trump is failing us. I'm Republican. Right about now, I'd rather have Shillery - or Stalin, or Micheal Moore even.

Why is everybody blaming Trump for this? Literally all he can do is publicly support the bill and try to convince Congress to pass it, both of which he did. This isn't even Paul Ryan's fault, the problem is a small group of conservatives in the House are butthurt because the bill isn't exactly what they want so they basically are refusing to support it and generally being a pack of massive whiny faggots. It's fucking depressing how little people actually know about how the actual process of government works.

Because he was elected on many, many promises of what he would do and what a consummate deal-maker he is. And he chose to put the bill up without ensuring he had all the Republicans on-side first.

That tactical failure lead to his very public humiliation. They are blaming him because it's his fault.

The ACA could have been a glorious bill. It could have been one that guarantees a competitive rate, fair dealings between consumers and insurance companies and move to assist healthcare innovation(s).

The ACA was passed for the same reason Bernie was screwed. Americans are terrified of Socialism. The ACA was a compromise that could either then be amended to full universal healthcare or left as-is to continue the house-of-cards bullshit that is the USA medical system.

You motherfuckers need to realize you bought in to socialized shit during the World-war era and turn out to defend what actually made you great. It sure as shit wasn't Reaganite deregulate-everything garbage.

>>
>>726797990

It's not universal healthcare. It was an insurance reform bill. It was badly done. The Democrats had a supermajority in congress and could fix it at any time and did not.

If it was so compromised why did Pelosi and Reid pushed it to be signed? If they, including Obama, knew about this, why did it pass?
>>

>>
>>726798688

Dude had control of two of the three branches of government.

How the hell can you fail with that?
>>
>>726798948

By recognizing that a nonfunctional Federal government cannot continue for more than a short while without civil insurrection. And that even Universal Healthcare (or the beginnings thereof) must give way to that.

Rule #1: there must be a government.
>>
>>726798875

The loss is due to how Obamacare was passed. If the passage of the law was done through normal channel instead of through budget reconciliation and a debate as to specific points of the law the Tea Party wouldn't have happened.
>>
>>726799238

No, the Tea Party was not an organic political movement. Never was. Look it up if you don't believe me. Bulk of funding is Koch brothers.
>>
>>726799073

Federal government at its most essential function is small. State govt takes care of the rest.

Reality is that the Federal govt is now too large with a too broad interpretation of the commerce clause to have its tentacles in everything.

The shutdown happened in the 80's also. Insurrections did not happen then. The republic is more resilient than that.
>>
>>726799339

If that is the case, who do they answer to?

Last I checked they don't have a national leader.
>>
>>726799462

The Federal government provides the bulk of funding for state governments. Without that money, you are fucked in every single way. The states merely act as distributors of all that cold, hard, Fed cash.

And the Republic is infinitely more fragile than you could believe.
>>
>>726798948
>How the hell can you fail with that?
Like Trump just did? With control of all three.
>>
>>726798946

Then the law should address healthcare instead of health insurance.

Amending crap is still crap. All that was demanded was to come up with a good, well researched law to address an issue.

Instead we got this...thing.

>>726799951

A bad point b.

Relying on handouts from the government is a bad idea. They can take it away from you when you need it most.

It is also very vulnerable to abuse. Imagine the worst of Trump. Imagine what he can do if he is in full control of paying for healthcare for all Americans.
>>
>>726800071

Dude was promising so much that he got a second term.

Still can't do it.

They never said fix and make Obamacare better. It was always repeal. Then with Trump it's repeal and replace. They kept promising this despite the fact that it was never going to happen. They wasted so much time and effort arbitrarily passing repeal measures in Congress knowing that it was going to be vetoed by Obama. It was all just a bullshit game to the Republicans for 7 years, and now that they are actually in power, they have no idea how to govern because they've been fucking around and blaming Democrats for everything.

Trump only cares about one thing: delivering on his promise to give Americans lower premiums. The bill would not do that had it been passed. Did you see him tweet in anger over this "defeat?" Because I didn't.

And Nancy Pelosi ought to be ashamed of herself for taking potshots at Trump and calling this a "rookie mistake." He is the President, and you are not. If you insist on claiming "victory" and want everybody to know how hard you are "winning," then I have some terrible news: that is exactly what people on the left said before Hilldawg ate it on election night. Your NHS doctor (who didn't go through the grind of US medical school, most likely) will tell you: "Go fuck yourself, you old twit! Now piss off and make those funeral arrangements."
