Yes the movie had such a great beginning and story. At first you were interested in the story about how he'll save that pretty woman from death. But then they had to bring in that John Travolta dreadlock Bullshit about some future where the moon crashes into the Earth. And the main character asks him, of all people, as to why he can't change the past. I understand that this is based on a novel, but it just doesn't work on film. Also, the original author must have lived so long ago that his idea of the distant future is so off, that it even doesn't impress by today's standards even 50 years later. The human race is reduced to tree-living folk only because the moon crashes into the Earth or we have a few wars? I grew up in Berlin Germany, and if I've learned anything from past wars, it's that people and countries bounce back very quickly and learn from their mistakes and build better civilizations. Just because a catastrophe happens doesn't mean we lose all our intelligence.

Everything about the movie was perfect until he literally steps in his time machine and travels a thousand years into the future.

The Martian. I've seen that like 5 or 6 times now, still one of the most entertaining movies I've ever watched. Something about the Mars setting appeals to me visually, and it just thoroughly holds my attention.

I also love V for Vendetta, especially for the speeches, and I've probably seen Juptier Ascending like a dozen times. Oh and Men in Black 3, that's a fucking great movie.
