How many people do you see who try to buy a gun, start filling out the 4473, and then realize that a misdemeanor domestic violence charge is a lifetime ban on owning guns and make up some excuse and bolt out of the store?
i live in a very liberal state, so you couldn't buy "assault weapons" UNLESS they were made before sept 1994. so the owner bought a bunch of "pre ban" "assault weapons" and made shit tons of money selling them.
>>724731403 >might be.oh wait,I remembered I live in a country with no mass shootings and gun related deaths.hell, the things that kill people here are car accidents and heart problems. I'll keep my guns, money and freedom. You can keep the change and free shit that enslaves your ass.
>>724731604 >still ,I don't have to worry about instant death even if walking in a bad neighbourhood.and the cops are chill because they know they won't get a surprise bullet. That is boring as all hell. Nothing like being close to death to appreciate life.
>>724730271 how is glock on reliability I know nothing about guns. I want a single stack glock dont know what number because there are like 50 versions of the same gun just different calibers>>724730271
>>724730464 I like them both but even shitty ARs run better than shitty AKs. At least shit parts on an AR can be upgraded where as an AK is harder to rebuild and often isnt worth it.
I own several ARs and several AKs, each with their own purpose. Either way, make sure you buy/build a good one.
>>724730762 never had anyone make up an excuse to try and leave, but with that specifically, they typically get caught off guard and ask something along the lines of "what if it was X years ago?". Along with several other questions, I simply let them kow it would be an automatic denial until its off their record.
>>724730860 They look better than they function. If a gun manufacturer needs to recommend what ammo to shoot and not to shoot in order to run reliably, your gun really isnt all that reliable. They are hit or miss, but you can spend less money elsewhere for a better product.
>>724731177 There are some laws that dont make a lot of sense such as NFA laws, but that more messes up what configuration youre allowed to put your firearm in. Other than that, there is not much that gets in the way of business. The paper work can be irritating at times though.
Locally, I think its stupid on what kind of gun you are / are not allowed to have loaded and accessible in the vehicle even with a CPL.
NFA laws make no sense for the most part. Barrel too short? Cant have a stock. Barrel long enough? It can have a stock. Over .50 caliber? No go....unless its a shotgun.
Also not being able to buy pistols from a dealer under 21 is a stupid regulation. You can still get it from a private seller legally, so whats the point?
>>724732063 >I have a couple drug related misdemeanors and a few suspended licenses due to driving recklessly. I'm irresponsible. Does the constitution still allow me to own a firearm? >Am I going to be a sad american when my background comes back and it says I've been too much of a bad boy? Getting items like this expunged is rather straightforward. Have a good job and no further arrests with the right attorney to petition usually does the job.
I am leaning 1911 because I have an colt 1873 however I like to bear hunt so a 629 would be handy. I am thinking the stainless steel spring or S&W for the 1911. I only have the one hand gun but plenty of rifles.
It will probably be my last gun for the foreseeable future since my fiancée is anti-gun.
>>724732115 >make more than enough money and I have more freedom because cops are chill for an obvious reason.please, keep your guns and your false freedom.good luck not getting shot cowboy A safe life is a wasted life. And I really doubt if you make more than me.
>>724731500 Spotted agents, but nothing that is entrapment. I can refuse a sale if I want to and any hint of illegal activity gets you booted from the store.
>>724731753 We have an open shop floor and no aisles. Sympathy cards are left behind the counter for those who have lost their beloved pets to the ATF.
>>724731764 Very reliable but so are many other pistols out there. Glocks are very basic and dont have the greatest trigger pull but it can be upgraded. With that said, I have owned a Glock 19 and own a Glock 42. If you want a decent single stack Glock, go for the 43(9mm) or the 42 (.380).
As for other good single stack pistols I recommend... >S&W Shield 9 or .45 >Springfield XDS (9 or .45) >Bersa BP9CC >Honor Guard >Kahr MK series many others but thats just to name a few.
Handle a few, rent a few, and go with what feels the best. For a beginner I do recommend sticking with 9mm. Also tiny guns tend to kick harder.
>>724731766 >NFA laws make no sense for the most part. Barrel too short? Cant have a stock. Barrel long enough? It can have a stock. Over .50 caliber? No go....unless its a shotgun. Damn NFA laws, AR pistol w/ 10.5" barrel? SURE! Put a stock on it? WHOA THERE! That's $200 and 5 months of waiting!! Pic related, as I wait for my stamp
>>724732729 >>NFA laws make no sense for the most part. Barrel too short? Cant have a stock. Barrel long enough? It can have a stock. Over .50 caliber? No go....unless its a shotgun. >Damn NFA laws, AR pistol w/ 10.5" barrel? SURE! >Put a stock on it? WHOA THERE! That's $200 and 5 months of waiting!! >Pic related, as I wait for my stamp One thing that Trump wants to do is a total overhaul of the NFA laws. Was told he is waiting for a Republican super majority after the mid-term so there are just token Democrats screaming a swan song as it passes. Then there is forcing all states to accept all CCWs without any local restrictions.
>>724732546 >but when it happens many people die at once.and it's the most easy preventable form of death but no, you wanna be cowboys and thus have aggressive cops and gangs and shit. All the mass shootings are government sponsored to pass more gun control laws.
>>724732051 S&W 442 or 642 (same gun, different finish) for those on a budget, Taurus Model 85 or Charter Arms.
>>724732063 You wont pass if any of the misdemeanors would have landed you in jail for a year or more (regardless of the time served). Anything less, you're fine but may experience a delayed background check. Misdemeanors punishable for more than 1 year in jail and domestic violence are the only misdemeanors that are federal prohibitory. Those convictions may make you ineligible for a CPL/CHW/Etc in your state though.
A denied background check can be appealed.
A fun project but over hyped. There are too many firearms out there to have them all tracked.
>>724732546 >but when it happens many people die at once if you really cared about death, you'd be focused on what kills more overall. you're feeding into the scare culture.
>agressive cops and gangs and shit thats only in major cities. i was in a state with almost no gun control for a while. there was also no niggers, and the cops were all friendly and happy. let me share a story.
>be me >shooting guns in field with friend >friends dad knows the guy that owns the land, so its ok >cop pulls up >im thinking im fucked >cop gets out of care with a big smile on his face >Hey boys! what are you shooting today? Can i take a few shots? >we let cop try our guns >thanks us, tells us to be careful and leaves
>>724732302 a safe life is a wasted life??hah, pure logic.congrats ,that just shows who deluded you are.if so, move to a conflict area to live intensively.money wise I can't envy you on how much you make because make more than enough and I'm really happy with my life-also irrelevant argument on the subject
>>724733176 >a safe life is a wasted life??hah, pure logic.congrats ,that just shows who deluded you are.if so, move to a conflict area to live intensively.money wise I can't envy you on how much you make because make more than enough and I'm really happy with my life-also irrelevant argument on the subject Socialism of the opiate of the masses.
>>724732893 >One thing that Trump wants to do is a total overhaul of the NFA laws. Was told he is waiting for a Republican super majority after the mid-term so there are just token Democrats screaming a swan song as it passes There's one way it can happen sooner >Feinstein croaks I dream of such a day
>>724733140 >The Fuck is the point in this It's my lower receiver, just sitting there being useless until I get my tax stamp back from the dog shooters telling me it's alright to put a 10.5" barrel on it.
>>724733130 so you're validating my argument of the most preventable form of death by not addressing it,that's good.and don't give me the whole "guns don't kill people, people kill people".they don't but they sure make it alot fucking easier.so easy a fucking child can kill you.
>>724734075 children have also killed their parents in their sleep with knives. you're not helping your case, and who cares if niggers are killing eachother? because thats what most of the gun deaths are.
europe is out of control with mudslimes shooting up concert halls and running over scores of people. if people wanna kill, they're gunna kill.
>>724734087 Yes and no...some places are firm, some are willing to haggle. Others you can get a deal if you've bought a few guns. its all circumstantial. I only have allowed haggling when there are multiple expense guns on the ticket.
>>724734323 >Do you know how a .50 Desert Eagle is? >I've never shot one of those either, but I've always thought they were cool. Desert Eagle do not have as much kick as they have a very sophisticated blow back mechanism. However, if you own one, keep it well cleaned and oiled better than your favorite weekend whore. They can jam a lot!
>>724734380 it takes alot of time for cigarettes to kill you.you can go to a doctor and he can advise you on what to do and there are alternatives, you can save yourself.with guns you die pretty fast.also there are people who have developed resistance to cigarettes and have no issue.my grandfather is 87 and still smokes.you re living with the hope that one day you ll develop resistance to bullets ?
>>724734302 Sold my first gun but luckily got it back. That was my only regret. Afterward, I never sold anything I would miss in the slightest. As for to a sketchy person, if youre sketchy, you wont be sold anything.
>>724734323 Hard to hold, hard to control, expensive to buy, expensive to feed. Rent one if you want to shoot it, but in the end its never worth owning.
>>724734451 you can kill someone in their sleep with a pillow.but if a kid comes at you with a knife -and you are not asleep- you have a pretty high change of walking out alive and beating the shit out of that little fucktard
>>724733607 >>Feinstein croaks >I dream of such a day That will a watershed event with the San Francisco Bay full of skeletons falling out of her and her jew Husband's closet. Her response to Trump's House Address puts her below pond scum. She look highly medicated as she is fighting her acid days from the 60s.
>>724734690 You guys actually have choices in your state. There are only 2 HK pistols available for sale here. P2000 and it's variants, and the usp and it's variants. I would love a vp9 but they aren't available through a store, only private.
>>724734855 >you re living with the hope that one day you ll develop resistance to bullets ? The problem with your argument is that all guns kill people. I currently have over a dozen guns, and have owned probably 40 throughout my lifetime, not one of them have shot a person. Well, maybe my old Garand.
>>724734451 also, the deaths in Europe by terrorism not cowboys is far less than what you guys have over there.lets not compare terrorism with internal affairs.also the migrant crisis is caused because your government fuelled major conflicts in the middle east-all for oil.but that's another discussion
>>724730271 If I came in reeking of whiskey, in dirty jeans, half-tied timberlands, a hoodie and a brown leather jacket atop, muttering under my breath "gonna fuck up that f..." "...unt ruined my f'cking life..." "bitch's gonna pay" "-ry and tell me I ain't no man..." as I stumbled up the counter, slapped 2Gs in benjy's on the counter with my license, and pointed at the 1911 in the case with a belch, and uttered "and 2 boxes .45 ACP" in bleary slurs, if I passed my check, would you sell me the gun?
collecting guns as historical artefacts is permited in Europe too.but with a serios check on that person.the availability of guns is the problem.you can't know what is in someone's head.he could have a mental illness or a nervous breakdown and go buy a gun and do something stupid.thats a chance not worth taking
>>724731403 Piss and moan all you want. Guns arent going anywhere. It doesnt matter what laws there are, criminals will always have them, there for it doesn't matter what you think.
>>724735003 Mosins are no longer worth owning. You can buy a modern and more accurate bolt guns that shoot more affordable ammo for less than a mosin.
SKS is fine as it can be owned for less than an AK and still cheap to shoot. Only buy AKs from reputable manufacturers. Until you can afford a good AK, the SKS is your friend.
>>724735261 No, I tell them straight up Im refusing the sale. I see no need to sugar coat it to someone I won;t ever sell to again. With that said, i refrain from being a dick to them while getting the message across.
>>724735140 Get a cheap .22 bolt rifle or a used break action rifle for that budget.
>>724735717 Ive never shot or owned a Luger but would love to have one in my collection.
>>724735504 again when you are asleep you can be easily killed with many things, even a pillow.when you turn your back you could easily be killed by strangulation with a rope or have a rock thrown at your head.lets not talk about situations where you are vulnerable to a dozen of things.lets talk about the favt that you are vulnerable to a gun even if he is in front of you and he is a child.the options you have in knife fights is to run or use something to distance yourself from the aggressor.realisticaly speaking a kid won't know the proper way to handle a knife and a kick to the chest would solve the problem-he is a kid
>>724736428 în the lack of arguments this is your response.i know guns aren't going anywhere and that my opinion won't influence the policy overseas-i m not deluded.i was just having a debate and expressing my opinion hoping that someone would convince me otherwise.
>>724736415 No, admittedly playing The Sims 2 and posting.
>>724735504 How about the world is full of dangerous shit. many other things are more likely to kill you than a firearm. Stop worrying about ways you will unlikely die and just live life. When you go, you go. Might as well have some fun with what little time we have on earth and do something enjoyable and shoot some guns with your buddies.
>>724736609 if someone strangles you, or shoots you, does it really matter? you're dead either way.
>the options you have in knife fights is to run or use something to distance yourself from the aggressor how often do you carry a large stick with you? and once again, whats stopping this individual from sticking something in your neck as you walk passed? you clearly know nothing of fighting.
>>724736952 Want your opinions changed? How about expose yourself to the world of shooting sports and see how fun it is, get involved with the firearms community and realize we are regular people. You will find yourself enjoying the sport and end up with a gun of your own in realization that they are not good or evil. See you on the range.
>>724737151 None. Done a few special orders for .338 Lapuas though.
>>724737196 Stoger if you want something inexpensive to own while still being of decent quality or if you want something higher end for the money, get a Beretta or SKB.
>>724737151 >How many of these have you sold?? But Anon, that gun kills people!!! The shoulder thing that goes u and instantly fires 30 rounds in a half second of armor piercing, heat seeking baby killer bullits!!>!>!!!1!!!
first of the point of the argument is how facilitating are guns to killing someone.it matters because in all other situations I have a better chance of getting out alive moreso if he is not attacking in a circumstance in which I am vulnerable whereas with guns I am vulnerable in all situations.second of all we are talking about a kid here ,a child.there is again a slim chance that he ll reach my neck.again you are referring to situations where I am vulnerable.third given the situation you can pick many things to distance yourself from him like chairs ,a mailbox ,a bike, a pice of wood from a fence and so on.even throwing things would prove effective.also a hefty kick would surely disable him being a child.
>>724737890 >OP, what are the general demographics of your customers? is it mostly old white guys? cause at my local store im seeing alot more moms and stuff, kinda strange. Not OP, but at my local range/store, I'd say the demographics are: 1/2 old white guys, 20% women, 30% younger college aged kids (mainly Asians)
>>724737631 have no problem whatsoever about shooting as a sport.i surely belive it's fun and i dont generalize thinking that all people with guns are douchebags-dont take it so personal.the availability of guns is the problem and their use outside the shooting range.
>>724738465 you are not that vulnerable if the danger is coming from somewhere in your field of view.and for your second argument : you didn't follow the argument from the start did you? it's about how facilitating a gun is to killing and for this reason a child was given as example.
>>724737709 $3 a trigger pull if you know how to shop. Id like to shoot one but couldn't see myself owning one.
>>724737815 >inexpensive to shoot >higher capacity than its .40 and .45 counterparts >less recoil than .40 and .45 (assuming the same size and weight of the compared pistols) >Less focus is being put on .40s in the current market...some new firearms on the market skip .40 while making 9mm and .45 variants. >pistol cartridges suck over all and are a compromise for a portable firearm...you might as well get more rounds on target in a faster time span. Shot placement is everything.
>>724737890 Young to middle aged white men, but I get plenty of minority customers in women in the mix too. Regular folks just getting into guns for the most part.
>>724737907 I don't sell archery equipment. What you do with a product has nothing to do with me selling it to you, though if I sense youre going to do stupid things with it, you arent getting anything.
>>724738155 people go where the money is, I get that. Its easy money but the only time I get irritated about it is when a customer asks to see several guns, takes my time, and then orders it online. This is a rare occurrence for me though as several customers have mentioned "I saw X online for a bit cheaper after the fee's but I appreciate the service and want to give you the business.". Other than that, they will order stuff that are known online blow outs and specials or something my distributors dont have available for order.
>>724738403 At this point, there is nothing that can be done about the number of guns in the US. What works for one region does not always work for the other. Over all, guns are a minor issue in the US and is only blown up by the media where as the statistics show otherwise.
>>724738420 I get plenty of minority customers. it doesn't bother me.
>>724738848 >you didn't follow the argument from the start did you? Yes, I've heard your arguement, and similar ones for YEARS... A gun is a tool, nothing else. It does not shoot itself (well except for the afore mentioned Taurus). If a tool is misused, people can get hurt/die. The same can be said for hammers, knives, anfo, cars, power saws,.....
Maybe congress should make a law that killing people without justification should be illegal, that should lower murders!
>>724739977 >Maybe congress should make a law that killing people without justification should be illegal, that should lower murders! That is called Manslaughter and has been on the books for centuries.
thanks for the straight answer. I wanted I go to the local gun store ask about ordering an AR15 receiver, but dont know how to go about it since I dont want to piss them off. Just ask if they do transfers and I want to buy a receiver from palmetto state armory?
>>724740311 Ask if they do transfers, ask what their fee is, and see what they can order you one for. Decide what route you want to go from there. Ask your dealer if they will contact the seller or if they need the seller to contact them. Each dealer does it a bit differently. I do whatever the customer prefers.
>>724741165 I sell gen 3s for $520, I get them for $460. I hardly show people glocks unless they ask for one. They sell themselves and I have no interest putting focus on them with such little profit margin. There are plenty of other guns just as reliable which is what I shift focus to.
>>724741697 All guns leaving the shop get recorded on a 4473 and all sales are put in a log book.
If your dealer uses electronic records, you're on a list somewhere. If book records, likely not. Gun control like in AUS simply wont work in the US. So many guns are not on record due to private sales.
>>724741697 >Does the govt keep a record of the guns you buy? Legally they're not allowed to >I'm sure they'd love to pull an Australia... Let me tell you about this mysterious boating accident I had...
>>724742026 The government doesnt care whats legal or not unfortunately.
>>724742146 I was a dealer after sandy hook. As a customer, all price gouging shops lost my respect and business and refuse to do that to my customers.
>>724742238 Dealers must conduct a background check. Private sellers dont need to. A criminal buying a gun off the streets isnt going to get a background check so it doesnt do too much in the end if someone wants a gun bad enough.
>>724742483 Military background =/= being knowledgeable in guns and customer service. All of my previous military employees were let go due to lack of gun knowledge and customer service.
