How many people do you see who try to buy a gun, start filling out the 4473, and then realize that a misdemeanor domestic violence charge is a lifetime ban on owning guns and make up some excuse and bolt out of the store?

I like them both but even shitty ARs run better than shitty AKs. At least shit parts on an AR can be upgraded where as an AK is harder to rebuild and often isnt worth it.

I own several ARs and several AKs, each with their own purpose. Either way, make sure you buy/build a good one.

never had anyone make up an excuse to try and leave, but with that specifically, they typically get caught off guard and ask something along the lines of "what if it was X years ago?". Along with several other questions, I simply let them kow it would be an automatic denial until its off their record.

>>724730860
They look better than they function. If a gun manufacturer needs to recommend what ammo to shoot and not to shoot in order to run reliably, your gun really isnt all that reliable. They are hit or miss, but you can spend less money elsewhere for a better product.

There are some laws that dont make a lot of sense such as NFA laws, but that more messes up what configuration youre allowed to put your firearm in. Other than that, there is not much that gets in the way of business. The paper work can be irritating at times though.

Locally, I think its stupid on what kind of gun you are / are not allowed to have loaded and accessible in the vehicle even with a CPL.

NFA laws make no sense for the most part. Barrel too short? Cant have a stock. Barrel long enough? It can have a stock. Over .50 caliber? No go....unless its a shotgun.

Also not being able to buy pistols from a dealer under 21 is a stupid regulation. You can still get it from a private seller legally, so whats the point?

I'm debating between a 1911 or a S&W 629.

I am leaning 1911 because I have an colt 1873 however I like to bear hunt so a 629 would be handy. I am thinking the stainless steel spring or S&W for the 1911. I only have the one hand gun but plenty of rifles.

It will probably be my last gun for the foreseeable future since my fiancée is anti-gun.

Spotted agents, but nothing that is entrapment. I can refuse a sale if I want to and any hint of illegal activity gets you booted from the store.

>>724731753
We have an open shop floor and no aisles. Sympathy cards are left behind the counter for those who have lost their beloved pets to the ATF.

>>724731764
Very reliable but so are many other pistols out there. Glocks are very basic and dont have the greatest trigger pull but it can be upgraded. With that said, I have owned a Glock 19 and own a Glock 42. If you want a decent single stack Glock, go for the 43(9mm) or the 42 (.380).

As for other good single stack pistols I recommend...
>S&W Shield 9 or .45
>Springfield XDS (9 or .45)
>Bersa BP9CC
>Honor Guard
>Kahr MK series
many others but thats just to name a few.

Handle a few, rent a few, and go with what feels the best. For a beginner I do recommend sticking with 9mm. Also tiny guns tend to kick harder.

One thing that Trump wants to do is a total overhaul of the NFA laws. Was told he is waiting for a Republican super majority after the mid-term so there are just token Democrats screaming a swan song as it passes. Then there is forcing all states to accept all CCWs without any local restrictions.

You wont pass if any of the misdemeanors would have landed you in jail for a year or more (regardless of the time served). Anything less, you're fine but may experience a delayed background check. Misdemeanors punishable for more than 1 year in jail and domestic violence are the only misdemeanors that are federal prohibitory. Those convictions may make you ineligible for a CPL/CHW/Etc in your state though.

A denied background check can be appealed.

A fun project but over hyped. There are too many firearms out there to have them all tracked.

Mosins are no longer worth owning. You can buy a modern and more accurate bolt guns that shoot more affordable ammo for less than a mosin.

SKS is fine as it can be owned for less than an AK and still cheap to shoot. Only buy AKs from reputable manufacturers. Until you can afford a good AK, the SKS is your friend.

first of the point of the argument is how facilitating are guns to killing someone.it matters because in all other situations I have a better chance of getting out alive moreso if he is not attacking in a circumstance in which I am vulnerable whereas with guns I am vulnerable in all situations.second of all we are talking about a kid here ,a child.there is again a slim chance that he ll reach my neck.again you are referring to situations where I am vulnerable.third given the situation you can pick many things to distance yourself from him like chairs ,a mailbox ,a bike, a pice of wood from a fence and so on.even throwing things would prove effective.also a hefty kick would surely disable him being a child.

people go where the money is, I get that. Its easy money but the only time I get irritated about it is when a customer asks to see several guns, takes my time, and then orders it online. This is a rare occurrence for me though as several customers have mentioned "I saw X online for a bit cheaper after the fee's but I appreciate the service and want to give you the business.". Other than that, they will order stuff that are known online blow outs and specials or something my distributors dont have available for order.

A gun is a tool, nothing else.
It does not shoot itself (well except for the afore mentioned Taurus).
If a tool is misused, people can get hurt/die. The same can be said for hammers, knives, anfo, cars, power saws,.....

Maybe congress should make a law that killing people without justification should be illegal, that should lower murders!

Ask if they do transfers, ask what their fee is, and see what they can order you one for. Decide what route you want to go from there. Ask your dealer if they will contact the seller or if they need the seller to contact them. Each dealer does it a bit differently. I do whatever the customer prefers.

All guns leaving the shop get recorded on a 4473 and all sales are put in a log book.

If your dealer uses electronic records, you're on a list somewhere. If book records, likely not. Gun control like in AUS simply wont work in the US. So many guns are not on record due to private sales.
