Modern lipos make gas powered cars stupid. Helis or planes, not so stupid (run time) but the caster oil is a fucking mess in any dimension for those 2cycle noisemakers.

Indeed, I've looked into this myself. Technically not all that difficult. Just use a single engine, and variable pitch instead of variable speed for the rotors.

My initial thoughts were to buy 4 heli tail sections for say... a TREX 400 or 800 size heli, and then work out the gearbox... might be easier with shaft vs belt driven tails though.

I am building my first micro quad atm. 500 USD 8 Motors and 2 frames later i am hopefully will have a quad ready for tuning at the weekend. Its a great way to burn money. I have been doing electronics for 16 years now and i dont regret the decision to pick up FPV Quad flying, i knew shit would break beforehand and im ok.

2 questions fpr the RC car guys? Why dont you FPV your cars and why do you use these gay pistol type r/c transmitters?
