But if you don't have dynamics, and that doesn't just mean songwriting, you can't do shit
It's already hard enough since less and less people care about music, only about the simple electronic beat itself and repetition
But you need to be original, have a style when you play
It doesn't mean crazy bends and sweeps and stuff
It takes skill but you're a dime a dozen if you can do that
You have to have style, grace when you play

Because guitars are awesome, pretty easy to get the hang of, around and cheap. You can then start doing what you should be doing anyway with any skill on any musical instrument-composing and writing.
It doesn't have to be in musical notation (though that helps, and learning to read it will serve you very well), complicated, long, or profound. It just has to be.
Your first things will be derivative shit, because that's what everybody's first things were, even Mozart's (look it up). Keep going and doing, and you will learn one way or another what makes for a good song, what moves people, how music is structured and all of that. Learning it in a classroom will speed up that process, but there is no replacement for real-world experience, and never has been.
