Generally speaking, what career path should a 20 year old with the world in front of him go down? I'm having a real hard time working out what to do with my life.

>>
>>723891680
I depise children. So that's a no go.
>>
>>723891547
Isnt it a bit late ?
With 20 you should already know and get the education for your career
But generally speaking, i would go IT. Still the best chances to get rich
If you live in europe and went to a higher technical school, go for mechatronics
>>
>>723891812
How is 20 too old? Most people I know I still changing their university courses in their early 30s.
>>
>>723891812
What areas of IT?
>>
>>723891812
>>723892151
The IT field is already crowded with windows fags who only know how to reboot all the things. If you go that route, please try actually learning things beyond that.
>>
Anyone have any experience with paramedicine?
>>
>>723891547
I would most certainly go IT.
1. Java full-stack software developers
2. AngularJS front end UI developers
3. .NET software developers

If you're 20 today you can easily make $100k by the time you're 25 if you really work towards it.
>>
>>723892540
What's the IT industry like on a global level though? Australia, for example.

I would assume equally strong. I'm US here but I can tell you if you have the skill set to develop you can pretty much find a job anywhere

Computer programming/Mechanical engineer. If you choose anything else you will be replaced by a robot.
>>

>Australia
You'll get crowded out by 457 visa holders or rejected from every job because employers all expect you to have 5+ years experience.
>>

>in front of him go down
You said it yourself, become a professional cocksucker. Or go into engineering. I don't know.
>>
>>723891928
This. I didn't even start going to school until I was 27, then changed majors at 31.
>>
>>723894128
This. I didn't start school until I was 78. Swapped majors at 103.

>>723894706
Whatever the fuck you want, except now you don't have to worry about any kind of art credit requirements.

What do you enjoy?

>>723891547
thats a misconception, you dont have "the world in front of you". its a lie your parents tell you to make you think you can be anything. but in reality your here. on /b/. your life is about as good as its going to get. the sooner you accept that faxt, the easier it will be to An hero
>>
>>723891547

Ask her
>>
>>723894749
Is it a good career pathway? What could I expect?
>>
>>723895065
Films, vidya, reading etc. all the stuff with limited career pathways.
>>
>>723891928
20 is kinda of old to change. You should have given it a hell more thought when you were like 16-17
>>
>>723897160
I disrespectfully disagree, cunt.
>>
>>723897160
Not everyone was chilling at home on the weekends like you to ponder over that stuff
>>
>>723891547
Just do what you want to do or do what you , and el somethinc really don't want to do and do it the best you can. Later on in life youy'll have to do either one many times comma find out what you're made of then decide what you want to do
>>
>>723897160
Bait? You will be behind your peers OP but none of this matters past a certain point. You can change careers at any point in your life if you put the time into it.
>>
>>723897494
I'm already well behind me peers. Most of my friends are trademen on the verge of being fully qualified. I've did that, it wa shit.
>>
>>723897160
kill yourself
>>
>>723897486
well... you should def ponder over the most important decisions you will make in your life. dont you agree?
>>
>>723897557
Exactly it doesn't matter. People feel they have to compete while the memory of the people they grew up with is still fresh. But after a few years life feels like a sandbox game with no defined objectives instead of a drag race.
>>
Maintenance engineer, "easy" study if understand it. There is a big need in qualified people.

Robot operator/manager. Because every larger industry is always buying robots and advancing. Learn everything you that is possible, be the very best, peak performance. You will earn really great money.

Doctor, specify yourself in one field and be "the best", really big money there.
>>
>>723897624
True. But when you meet with people you haven't seen for a while and you hear how well they're doing it kinda sucks.
>>
>>723897958
Thanks for the advice. I'll try my hardest to become the best doctor!
>>
>>723891547
First of all, you should be more specific in soliciting advice. That said, try some different things out and see what you like and what you're good at. Regardless, make sure that the field has a reasonable future and is not likely to be outsourced or automated any time soon. Law and medicine are always good choices (and that doesn't necessarily mean lawyer/doctor).
>>
>>723898180
How do you get an idea on if industries are likely to be outsourced or automated?
>>
>>723898442
do searches, that's what the internet is all about, besides /b/ ofc
>>
>>723891547
I joined the military
Only 19 and making a paycheck with benifits
Still boot as fuck though
