it's the same system. thought the upgrades came with the extra story quests. regardless, it's a damn fine addition to the game and discovering the upgrade-able ship on top of the quest line were two real good reasons for me to go back to the game after so long. Theyve even now extended it further where after you beat the story line you can do some even harder shit. i have yet to try that out, but they're doing great things with it.

Terraria is more complex and has a lot more content, especially with the updates last year.

While Starbound gave me that legit awestruck feelings, after a few trips around the stars and completing a few repetitive "main" quest, I just realized there's nothing else to do.

I love Starbound more, the aesthetics and general ambience, but even I concur Terraria has a gazillion more content.

I have a few mods that boost the mount of raiders to come, I like massive raids, if I survive it means a lot a wealth and prisoners. At this time my fortress is pretty hard to penetrate. Bout an hour ago a group of at least 50 medieval came raiding, hence my influx of prisoners and bows.
