You have to do hard compressions, you will break their sternum and the initial crunch is one of the most horrifying sounds, it's haunting. Then the residual sounds as you desperately pump their chest to try to keep the blood flowing. You never forget it, especially since you have to keep the compressions going until responders are on the scene, meaning you can be pumping a dead man for 10+ minutes knowing it's already a lost cause.

Small town, so we find out the story later. Woman on scene WAS mom. She divorced husband and took her daughter to live with the guy she was cheating on dad with. Mom and boyfriend beat and regularly raped her with objects as punishment or amusement. The blood was from a wooden dowel that was used to rape and sodomize her a day or so prior, we opened up old wounds with all the commotion and movement. Her head WAS slammed in the oven multiple times as punishment for crying since she hadn't been fed all day. Vet here. Got one for ya. Deployed to Kunar in 12-13. 16th combat mission outside the wire. Go to local village to provide aid and gather intel. Bodies littered everywhere (mostly kids). Taliban killed off girls who refused to marry them. Cry like a bitch. 2 firefights in one month. 3 weeks before redeploying home truck gets hit by IED, lost leg knee down and on 100% now from the VA.
