Played, and beat.
outlaws is still the greatest western game ever because they got the music and scenery right on
Used to spend hours and hours playing this one.
Man, I was thinking about this one the other day, only sports game I ever really got into.
Great game, fuck Meru though. Voice like nails on a chalk board. Forever haunted by -WHAPWHAP- DOUBLE SMACK~
I played this one a fair bit as a kid, never got far in it. Mostly ran in circles despite it being one of my favourite games at the time.
Still dream of finding someone to play this with
As great as this game is, isn't it a bit too popular to be in this thread?
That stardust sidequest was bullshit though. All you got was a hidden boss that was either impossible or ridiculously easy depending on what gear you had, you didn't really even get anything worthwhile for winning I don't think.
Help me finding a game, it was on Snes, you were a ninja fighting some aliens or something, i don't remember anything but one level was named elevator of time or something like that
>you didn't really even get anything worthwhile for winning I don't think
This is pretty much the same in every RPG though. Secret/hidden boss, unlockable only by doing a difficult/lengthy series of quests and item farming/gathering. Difficult boss fight, results in being given items that aren't any more valuable/better stats-wise than what you already have. Look at Ruby or Emerald Weapon in FF7. You get items for beating them that give you stuff that you will almost 100% likely already have/need in order to beat the bosses in the first place.
Vaguely remember playing this a long ass time ago. I think I got stuck at a save point before a boss that didn't let me backtrack to do any grinding, so being underleveled as I was pretty much made it impossible to progress. Sort of like that boss in FF Tactics. I think I wound up just getting pissed and sold it rather than start all over.
Dead Babies X Extreme
Sorry I couldn't find a screenshot online and can't boot up the Xbox right now.
This game still kicks my ass
You do make a good point, especially about the hidden bosses in FF7, but at least in most other games you usually get like a game-breakingly strong weapon or armor or something. You literally got nothing from that fight except for the experience points and a trivial amount of gold though.
Didn't you at least get something decent from Emerald Weapon though? I remember Ruby only gave you a gold chocobo which kinda sucked because most of us had entire stables full of the things by that point, but if I recall correctly defeating Emerald gave you one of each master materia which was way more useful if you lost the one in the space ship like I did.
Hours and hours exploring the solar system over countless nights during summer vacation. The hum of the computer's fan was the only noise in the quiet house, and that would let me immerse myself in far away places and galaxies.
The Earth Harp Emerald Weapon drops gives you a set of Master materia - command, magic and summon I think. Which is nice, but like I said, chances are you already have a full set (at least) before fighting it.
>you usually get like a game-breakingly strong weapon or armor or something
Yeah true, but the thing is most of the hidden bosses tend to be more powerful than any other enemy in the game. So what's the point in getting a game-breakingly strong weapon/armor - by that point, if you're able to kill the superboss you're able to beat the final boss/any other enemies no problem.
In FFX-2, Trema is RIDICULOUSLY powerful and hard to beat, requiring the bets gear and tactics. If you can beat him, you can almost literally one-shot the final boss. So again, pointless. Superbosses only exist for the bragging rights for beating them
don't even remember if i beat it, but i enjoyed it.
only the sequel
used gameshark and last boss somehow affected, never beat it fml
bought it and tried getting into it but it I can't, i'll try again in a couple months
I"m going to post a couple
Still couldn't find a picture of DBXE, but I found Super Mario War, another homebrew Xbox game.
Can anyone guess this one?
This game was so good
Yeah, I finally beat it last year. I also have psychonauts on a couple platforms, it's pretty dope. For some reason I waited a while to play that one. Have you ever looked into the history of our government's participation in psychic research? Shit is interesting
Sure have. Sucks that Midway folded. Would be awesome if Netherrealm Studios picked up the sequel. Would imagine not since the licence is probably in limbo somewhere. Could you imagine how badass the sequel would be on PC and current gen systems?
One Friday night my mom went to Blockbuster to rent some movies and thought she would surprise me with a game. She had no idea what she was doing and I suspect she picked it up based on the name alone. She rented this, and brought it home. Being the 11 year old spoiled ass shitlord I was at the time, acted kind of shitty about it because it didn't look like anything I would enjoy based on cover art of the cartridge. I ended up trying it out since I was bored af anyway and holy fuck it was amazing. Bought it the day it had to be returned. That game and my Mom's random gesture of kindness stick out as a highlight of my young life. She ended up dying of cancer a couple years after that. I miss her.
Was this one and Lunar Silver Star Story the games where the collector's editions had a cloth map and a soundtrack and all sorts of cool shit?
Were they good games? I remember seeing Lunar ads in all my old game magazines, but I never had a ps1 until much later.
used to play this in the arcade it was the best times now that I think of it, still arcades are awesome used to use this clich with kim in kof I almost got lynched but mom came and saved the day, also killer instinct.
Yeah man, those are the ones. Their Omake boxes or however the hell they typed it. They were amazing games at the time, I'd imagine they feel a bit dated now. My buddy and I discovered that if you had a second controller plugged in, that it could move in combat menus, so we each took control of a couple characters and played "co op"
Used to rent it like once a week whenever my parents brought me into the movie rental place near us. Forgot about it and remembered it one night. Spent like 30 minutes googling details I could remember. Downloaded the rom and played it again. The story is fucking asinine. The game play however is pretty fun.
I found this one at a pawn shop for 2 bucks. I saw that Working Designs developed it as well and it reminded me of the Lunar games. Were they good enough games to track down either via actual ps1 discs or emulators? I miss old rpgs.
Another game I remembered one night and spent like an hour googling trying to find the title.
Beast of a game and it's actually bretty entertaining
My older brother would always play with me.
never had a clue what i was doing. had fun though
Had the gameboy version of this, really good.
Mine is pic related
Had multiple versions of this as a kid on the C64. I was too young to really understand what was going on, but I loved it nonetheless. Glorious SID chip sounds didn't hurt either!
than you obviously also played pic related
Oh hell, I just found it online!!!
Ahhh, this game was killer!
Also, I'm blown away by how many of these games I haven't heard of. A lot of the times it's the same ps1 games we've all played, but there's some rare gem in this thread.
Yeah, I beat it. Quite a few times, actually. The levels where you had to focus on using Aura Vision were fucking nighmarish. Fuck those fucking mines, uhg. Those goddamn creatures still freak me out. "I can see the other side! It's beuuutiful!"
Seriously, try and grab a ROM of 3 or 4. Or you can buy it on the PS Store for Vita/PSP. 5 was on the PS2 but I never really got into it. Think they've made the series Japan only now and on mobile.
Aaaahhh shit! Flavor of my youth right here. I never understood the fucking level where you have to make a bunch of pizzas for that rock monster.... Maybe I was just retarded.
This and it's immediate sequel = best two games ever made
i still remember the cheat code. Days of my life wasted playing this, metroid and pic related
Played it, tho BoF2 was a lot better for me (my third favorite game)
oh, thanks for the memories, really weird characters that game had
So in 2015 I made a 7RDL pseudo remake of Azure Dreams. It sucked. I only had 7 days. No graphics.
But since then I've been making CyanDreams, and continued development.
Every monster is a mix of three letters, consonant-vowel-consonant. Their stats and element is determined by their name. A shmorgasboard of monsters have special details like, HAM is essentially a pig and you can eat it. UZI has a ranged attack.
This game pretty much started the whole choices matter thing, but nobody knows it,
