I had very similar hair to that of OP. Started to get the same thin patch on the crown. I admitted defeat and accepted I was going bald so got it cut off to a centimetre or so.

Still obvious so plucked up the courage to wet shave my head about age 25. Best decision I ever made.

I'm now 28, wet shave every 2nd/3rd day. Short full beard (Tyrion Lanister style) and some good fitting clothes.

Couldn't be happier. I did grow it out over a month or so recently. Back and sides covered but I now have a very obvious bald horse shoe shape up top.
