To make government less expensive? well, newsflash, Carter and a few other presidents already tried that before and it made government more expensive in the long run and impacted overall US Economy negatively.
>>720035173 To reduce spending during the transition periods for many departments.
During these high turnover months where the incoming president cleans house it's very common for the people who stay on to orchestrate raises for themselves or hire friends. Putting a freeze on them gives his appointees more oversight over who gets eventually gets hired but also shows how unnecessary a lot of these agencies are, allowing them to be downsized (rather than simply replacing everyone who was let go).
>>720035550 >No country would ever, ever think to invade us. >Americans still think this. Nigger your starting a war with China and Russia right now, while simultaneously abandoning everyou ally you have.
>>720034811 You ready to pay for that wall and never see any of it back, buckaroo? He was pretty clear when he said taxpayers would fund it. Nevermind that it shows a huge misunderstanding of how illegals get into this country (most are by plane, come legally and then overstay their visa, as many come through Canada as they do Mexico). But no, the wall is a fantastic idea. Let's also remember that engineers have SHOWN why it'd be a nightmare to build
>>720034328 >>720034328 You mean like my friends who work at the US Embassy in Riyad? Not sure why you think they make too much money. I remember talking to her during a lunch break when she was in Yemen and there was an explosion and she literately said : Don't worry Al Queda can't hit shit with those mortars.
I wish she was making "3 times as much as anyone else" you ignorant shit.
>>720036211 >>720036211 You know that Eric Prince is his security advisor right? You might remember Eric from such shows as "Blackwater: How we took boatloads of US Govt money but had to stop be we killed so many civilians in Iraq". You might also know him as DeVoss' brother.
>>720035654 Thank you for a serious reply. I am not sure why leftists always want to close the National Parks first when the right tries to cut spending. It's an odd pathology.
I also never understood why the GOP didn't say, "fine, we'll give extra money to the parks, you fucks decide where we take it away from and get back to us." It would be the military, of course, leftists hate the military, why the GOP gives up the opportunity to make the demonstrate that is a mystery.
So, anyway, back to your response -- in what way does it fuck over smaller agencies? It says you have to get the work done with the staff you have doing it now -- how is that so horrible?
Half of 4chan is government employed anyways if you know what i mean. ever since a certain group of people spawned here and went after credit card companies, that is. Course they're gonna bitch about this.
>>720035784 >>720035784 ". The White House has not yet released the text of any of the executive orders, but Priebus noted as he handed the second document to Trump that it would impose “a federal government employee hiring freeze.”
The president then pointed out that the order would apply to every federal government employee, “except for the military.”"
>>720036831 You need to prove that there is anything of substance to be understood. Anon claimed that there is nothing. You claim that there is something, but anon doesn't understand it. Prove it, show us the something. Fuck's sake anon, this is logic 101.
>>720036892 OK, cool. Do you grasp that a hiring freeze is not necessarily permanent, does not necessarily apply to temp seasonal workers, and even if it did it can be modified in 10 seconds if need be bay a followup order?
>>720036569 Yep. >To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services (Secretary) and the heads of all other executive departments and agencies (agencies) with authorities and responsibilities under the Act shall exercise all authority and discretion available to them to waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation of any provision or requirement of the Act that would impose a fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, families, healthcare providers, health insurers, patients, recipients of healthcare services, purchasers of health insurance, or makers of medical devices, products, or medications.
Pretty much Helter Skelter at this point. No plan in place.
>>720036533 Still ten times more oversight than private contractors.
With security being the way it is right now, I'd rather your military and other secrets are protected by govt grade security. Not being stolen by the Chinese and Russians as soon as they're committed to digital media.
Granted the govt aren't perfect, but they're a step above virtually all the commonly used contractors. There's also a shit ton more of a diplomatic incident if one country directly violates another's seat of power. Commercial enterprises less so with state sponsored or freelance hackers.
I use the word hackers in the media sense of blackhats, although as regards the state sponsored sets, I'd sure they'd consider themselves white hats.
>>720036930 >>talks out of his ass anyway OK, you got me, I was making shit up, it is now a fact that anything you do not understand is completely beyond the capacity of everybody else on the planet to understand.
>ITT Americans think Trump rules the country >ITT Americans not realizing that their congress is economically raping them for profits >ITT Americans have no clue what their GDP actually is and think it is "America's wealth" >ITT Americans will be crying by 2020 when the economy goes to shit.
>>720037029 Hiring freeze would not hurt anybody already hired, and would in fact make them slightly more secure in their jobs -- if they were fired, they could not be replaced while the freeze was in effect, depending on how it is worded.
"xercise all authority and discretion available to them to waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation of any provision or requirement of the Act that would impose a fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, families, healthcare providers, health insurers, patients, recipients of healthcare services, purchasers of health insurance, or makers of medical devices, products, or medications."
I'm trying to parse this.. so basically stop doing anything that would create a financial burden on anyone.

Remaining employees expected to shoulder several times the load their contract stipulates. Mass walkouts and resignations. Still can't rehire, no experience left to teach the newbs when the hiring freeze abates.

Do you really think that makes you sound like less of an idiot?
>>720038573 I think there is something weird about his relationship with his mom, and I wish I knew the whole story.
There must have been some intense infighting in their family. One of the Brothers ( and family ) were cut out of the will. When they tried to take it to Court Trump cut off their medical insurance - including that of a severly ill child. He forced them to settle based on that leverage.
You have to be pretty fucking cold to do something like that to a nephew/niece. I suspect there was some serious shit going on behind the scenes in that family. You can see some of that with Trumps weird relationship with women. It is actually very similar to Hugh Hefner - they both glorify and promote, yet basically "own" women at the same time.
>>720038916 >When they tried to take it to Court Trump cut off their medical insurance - including that of a severly ill child. He forced them to settle based on that leverage. This is honestly a reason to never vote for such a person.
>>720039188 yeah I know, it got lost pretty deep in all the non stop scandal shit. I've actually followed trump for a few years, just as a new york personality. He is pretty interesting guy. Definite conman / scammer / new york guy.
>>720034328 Are you fucking kidding me? Yeah, that's why federal positions have such an issue with retention. Because of the huge sums of money.
You are such a fucking defective human. You know what's going to happen now? Those jobs still have to get done, and when shit slows down they will bring in private contractors to do the same job at 3 times the cost. You and I will pay more, but your fat fuck of a god and his friends will cash in on government contracts.
Was in Ohio one year I usually go to the US about 3 or 4 times a year for business.
Watched a homeless guy being rejected by the queue at a food bank which is designed for the poor and homeless.
The people shunning him were wearing or holding designer items, Raybans, Ipads etc
Because the working class actually can't afford food, because they spent it all on fucking high priced electronics and clothes.
So anyway, took the guy to the hotel I was at, got him a shower, gave some clothes, and went to the barber, got his haircut and got him some nice warm clothes for the coming winter. And a nice slap up meal to keep him warm for the day (doggy bag was taken of course).
He was an ex-vet, Vietnam, landed on bad times when his father died, he turned to drink and drugs, his mother died, and his sister disowned him. And was left homeless when he had to sell his house to pay for debts etc.
So anyways 2hrs after meeting him, he was fed and looked smart, took him back to the food bank which still happily had stuff left, and he was instantly accepted by people, not sneered at or pushed around because he was "normal" in their eyes.
Amazing huh. But that is America today definitely, you do not look "normal" you are scum and will be treated as such.
>>720039188 The rape account from Ivanna is also pretty fucking horrid. Obviously she recanted that, and original docs are filed.. but it is worth noting that Trump did NOT sue the company that published her account.
From the book:
Trump was furious that a ‘scalp reduction’ operation he’d undergone to eliminate a bald spot had been unexpectedly painful. Ivana had recommended the plastic surgeon. In retaliation, Hurt wrote, Trump yanked out a handful of his wife’s hair, and then forced himself on her sexually. Afterward, according to the book, she spent the night locked in a bedroom, crying; in the morning, Trump asked her, ‘with menacing casualness, “Does it hurt?”‘”
>>720038967 >god-emperor trump can't possibly be a depraved monster That's denial, fuckwit. Trump's a shiteating cuckold who called Hillary a "nasty woman" because he knows exactly how "nasty" she can be (see: Clinton/Trump wife swap).
>>720038916 I recall reading about the insurance thing. Pretty fucked up. It would be interesting to have the real story of Trump's childhood and adolescence. Apart from him being a spoiled little brat, of course...
You fucking dumb republicans are the whiniest collective of faggots in history. Once the damage is done by Trump there's going to be an amazing backlash against conservatives and the republican party in general. There's a very good chance you all will be a thing of the past in a few years. Enjoy it, you worthless pieces of shit. Fucking cunt the republicans. Everyone knows it's a fact.
>>720039504 >You are such a fucking defective human. You know what's going to happen now? Those jobs still have to get done, and when shit slows down they will bring in private contractors to do the same job at 3 times the cost. You and I will pay more, but your fat fuck of a god and his friends will cash in on government contracts.
you should read trumps early bio "Art of the Deal". His whole life he has dealt with just the opposite of your conclusion. Government structures in NYC loading on new employees, new layers into government projects, all to see costs rise and projects get extended forever. NYC (which has a GDP bigger than many countries) couldn't even get an ice skating rink done in Central Park. It took them 6 years and millions of dollars and they failed. Trump offered to step in (for free) and finish it (and donate all first year profits to charity). Trump finished it in 4 months and did indeed donate the profits to charity and it is open to this day. Please don't fall for the government efficency meme.
>with the stipulation that he be allowed to run the venue and an adjacent restaurant and use the profits to recoup his costs
The rink was closed in 1980 for a proposed two years of renovations at $9.1 million. Six years and $13 million later, after the problem-plagued work was still not completed by the city, Donald Trump persuaded Mayor Ed Koch to let him complete the work in four months at $2.5 million in order to have it open by the end of the year. Koch initially objected but later agreed to Trump's proposal when Trump offered to pay for the renovations himself with the stipulation that he be allowed to run the venue and an adjacent restaurant and use the profits to recoup his costs. Trump hired CIMCO, Canada's largest refrigeration company and the NHL's preferred rink equipment supplier, to complete the project. The rink reopened to the public on November 13, 1986, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and press conference attended by Koch and Trump, covered by national evening broadcast television news. Total cost of renovations by Trump came in under budget at $2.25 million and two months ahead of schedule.
>>720038268 This is why I feel bad for people who are swayed into looking at things from a single-issue perspective. I feel justified in letting them grin as they think they're doing something great, but then I just feel awful watching the grin vanish from their faces, replaced with shades of despair or uncertainty. I can't imagine what people with already shitty insurance/s will do when the day comes.
You reap what you sow, (America). But, it's as if that lesson falls on deaf ears every other generation. I kind of worry that the whole experiment of a regulated democracy just won't fly anymore, whether it's because of a patchwork education system, or a malicious health care system, or a (society) that incidentally divides and harms itself while trying to preach inclusiveness and collectivism, completely perpetuating the paradox of tolerance beyond reasonable means while simultaneously rewarding individual pursuits that usually lead almost nowhere, if not back to square one. Seasoned with all kinds of unfortunate things that seem to spit in the face of the intents of the founding fathers- and the people who worked to construct the contemporary, unspoken statute of how the country should be. It just seems like a mess. As do all things, initially. But it almost seems as if it shouldn't be the case anymore. It's bizarre. Uncanny.
>>720040527 Well, shit. Are you sure it just wasn't a mistake on your department's side? Or I could imagine that the order isn't in effect yet and many other federal agencies just acted pre-emptively to avoid paperwork.
>>720041359 You think YOU'RE going to see that in any feasible way? The government is going to tax you for it and then get their money back in the long run. You, on the other hand, will have lost tax dollars to something that even people in Trump's own party have said is a waste of time, money, and effort.
Oh, you mean he stopped a bloated and ineffective bureaucracy from becoming even more bloated and ineffective so that it wastes less taxpayer money and forces the current federal employees to actually do something for their paycheck instead of 10 motherfuckers sitting around doing the job of 1 person?
This sounds like a net positive to me. I don't know where the "outrage" is at. More fake news, probably. Just like "all the women in the US are protesting" but when working women in Michigan were asked if they knew why a few hundred women in Washington were marching they didn't have a clue and just assumed they were crazy BECAUSE THEY ARE.
I for one am glad to see some common fucking sense being returned to government.
>>720042332 As stated uptrend, this affects postal employees and national park rangers, as well. My uncle is a ranger at Congaree, and his busy season starts in March. He'd LIKE to hire subs extra help here soon, but it looks like it'll be just him and the winter staff this spring.
>>720042578 Ah, I see you couldn't address the actual substance of my post. Typical liberal.
One of the fundamental differences between Republicans and Democrats is the belief in smaller government vs. bigger government. Every Dem has increased national spending, welfare programs, and any other number of things. Reps cut that spending if possible and where possible. He's doing the same as any other Republican before him and fixing the shitshow of the Dems before him.
20 Trillion in debt (half of which rests at the feet of Obama himself) isn't a fucking joke and you can't keep reaching into some people's pockets to prop up the rest because "communism works" or some other bullshit. I give two fucks if a national park is closed for a few months, when's the last time any of you actually went to a fucking national park? Let's be real for 2 minutes. The only way to knock any of that 20 trillion off is to tighten your belt and that's precisely what he's doing. Or I guess you're okay with your great great grandchildren paying for wasteful shit from 2000-16. Get a fucking clue.
>>720042673 Let's not keep whining about how important park rangers and postal workers are. For fuck's sake the post office nearly went bankrupt 5 years ago because hardly anyone even uses the fucking thing anymore due to 1) the emergence of technology that makes communication easier and 2) private sector logistics like FedEx and DHL being 10 times more efficient.
Are you saying you're in favor of keeping a dinosaur of a postal system in place and wasting billions of taxpayer money a year on keeping it open when private companies have ALREADY PROVEN they can do it better?
I thought liberals were the ones who were supposed to be "progressive", what the fuck happened to that motto? Doesn't sound progressive at all you hypocritical fuck.
>>720043414 And the TSA couldn't stop 90% of the weapons/fake bombs/knives that passed through airports when they were put to the test by feds.
That's literally THEIR JOB and they can't do it. Why the fuck are they even getting paid? You niggers seem to think people deserve to have money thrown at them and their houses paid for just because they can stand and inhale oxygen. They literally do nothing but make everyone else's lives more difficult and inefficient, but hey i guess they stop grandma from taking her 9 inch dildo on a plane every now and again because it's not 6 inches or under. Shut the fuck up already.
>>720043735 That's patently false and you clearly have no substance to your argument.
>implying dems have never started a war OR continued a war
>provide no quantitative measure of what the fuck "destroying the economy" even means. Most people would consider 20 Trillion in debt and the only drop in the US credit rating in history (Obama presidency) to be "destroying the economy."
>Why are cutting "social safety" programs inherently bad? They aren't. People who truly do need the help still receive it and when the standards are raised it just kicks all the freeloading bullshit artists out so they have to actually GO WORK like the rest of us. The only people against this are pieces of shit who'd rather game the system like a parasite instead of actually contributing.
>>720035771 >simultaneously abandoning everyou ally you have SECDEF Mattis already said in his confirmation hearing that he plans to strengthen relationships with allies. Where do you get your information?
>>720044391 It's funny you say Trump's hurting the GOP brand, meanwhile people are abandoning the democrat party in RECORD numbers and actually trying to give the guy a chance. Being that oblivious is a real talent, really.
The only one deflecting is you, pal. There are people abandoning the dem party EN MASSE, like I said, because they're starting to realize more than ever how batshit crazy they are and that they care more about identity politics than the actual working class. People are waking up and, while they're not ALL coming to the republican party MANY are, but 100% of them ARE leaving the democrat party. That's just a cold hard fact. To pretend the dems aren't absolutely imploding with no leadership and scrambling to find a new golden goose now that Hillary's gone into hiding, you really must have your head in the sand. FFS you idiots have charles schumer speaking for you at the moment. That the best you got? Nancy Pelosi looks like she's going to have a stroke anytime she speaks these days. Ahahaha. Fucking sad as shit.
>>720045958 Surely if it's so "painfully obvious" he's going to fail then you've got some kind of evidence to base your opinion on or are you admitting to just pulling that out of your ass like the butthurt fag you so "painfully obviously" are?
fucking liberal kids don't even know why they think what they think, just know they're favorite singer told them it was cool. ffs.
