The sun is exactly the right distance from Earth to be conducive to life; with a margin of error so small, our planet's poles are frozen wastelands. God in his infinite wisdom gave us this sign that if we err mere inches from his grace, we will die.
>>720006395 "The water around this thermal vent is exactly the right distance temperature to be conducive to life; with a margin of error so small, that life will boil an inch closer, or freeze an inch away.
God in his infinite wisdom created this thermal vent for our species of bacteria to live just here"
>>720007230 >it's the biggest joke of a religion ever The real joke is, that EVERY SINGLE believer of any abrahamic religion tells this. Such a big conspicuity, because if there would be ONE TRUE reasonable religion, everyone would have converted already. But far most of the people stay in the religion they were born in, all over the world, in all times.
Any discussion about pros and cons of a religion is a mark for stupidity. Faith is just a lack of information.
>>720013350 >NASA actualy found several planets in the habitable zone
What we should say we know about the discovery of planets so far is that it pretty much fits what one would expect from the accretion disk model given the nature of the tools we use to find such planets -- as in, our detection method relies on gravitational attraction, relative mass, and radius -- hence we have only found gas giants with one possible exception, and most have been extremely close to their host stars. But given this, the distribution matches a model that suggests that planets distribute in a manner similar to that of our Solar System, and it is reasonable to assume almost every single-system MS star in our galaxy has planets, such that there will be at *minimum* tens of thousands of rocky planets snug within the habitable zone of suitably-old stable stars in our galaxy.
This is in contrast to the models that came out 40+ years ago, before computing got good enough to properly model accretion and star formation, that suggested that our planets may have formed from a stellar collision, which is so rare an occurrence that it would very likely mean our Sun is the only star in the galaxy with planets. Thank goodness that turned out not to be the case.
That's why the dipshits of sand-eating assholes in and around Jerusalem wrote down the fairy tales in the bible, adding shit as they go, adding more shit, crossing shit out that ended up being absolutely barbaric and controversial (old testament), the pope ruling out limbo for infants "because, it is not nice"!
Religion is a fucking joke.
Religion is made up by pre-medievil desert-dwellers and anyone who was told to copy the bible added his shit on top.
The bible is a social code with 9/10 parts worthless fantasy crap.
>>720015777 You are fucking retarded and totally ignorant. u should read sometimes so instead of being the typical "oh im atheist, u religious are stupid" u would realise how much you've missed. I neither believe in God. But i understand that some people needs this issue for their lives so they have something to be morally good. Also historically there have been a lot of progress thanks to religion that now is filtered by civics, nation identity, also arts, arquitecture. And if u used to read, u would understand most monotheist religions at the end are the same, and at least they are in some way importat (withoyt forgetting they are also the reason for some wars, sects, and so on)
And what exactly makes you think I don't know that? Boy, you just underestimate others for no reason. These circumstances don't change the fact that religious writings have changes massively over time. There is no consensus, they are essentially "fairy tales".
The sun and earth aren't the perfect distance apart because God exists, God exists because of that perfect distance. If we were to far and life couldn't thrive, the notion of God would never have been invented. God is for people who don't understand the universe and are scared of death.
>>720017531 >>720017531 >>720017531 i Agree the way the different religions is faced nowadays by people and religious groups is shit and fucked up. I underedtimated u because u said "religion is a joke" seeming the typycal hipster atheist.i was wrong in that, but religion has its goods, no matter how much the texts have changed is still a moral issue for people who need it, to love the others or help the poors, even in culture, tradition and identity is also important for some places
