What to expect? What do you mean? It's a great city overall. I live here all my life to this day. Vilnius is great for tourism because many people understand Polish, Russian languages. Expect students to know English, which is quite great. Roads are quite good quality, but nothing like Autobahns in Germany or some shit. Lots of shopping centres, restaurants other shops. Visit Old Town (city centre). Lots of interesting things to see, well kept historical old buildings. Police is actually gets better with the time, i.e. less corruption. Lots of bars and clubs are open at night in Old Town, you can visit if you want to. Anyway, lots of interesting things, though I don't care that much for them, so I haven't explored my city that well. Try to smile often, look happy to others etc., we need that kind of attitude here, because everyone are down and unsatisfied. Vilnius, by the way, looks quite modernised and technologically advanced, but that's just Vilnius and mostly near center. Deeper in commie blocks it's just like any post-soviet country. Avoid gypsies if you meet any. Try to avoid getting to shady places at night. You're a tourist after all, so, youre very easy target. Dont know what to else to tell. Just ask, I might answer. Oh, also, try to visit sometime in May or some shit. I hate winter and it makes me depressed, no idea about you. Taxis quite expensive, use public transport. We have those "G" marked busses (2G, 3G etc) that are "express" busses.

Looks kinda like Baltimore, although I don't recognize the neighborhood (and I know Baltimore City and the surrounding county like the back of my hand). Yeah, my city is a real shithole, and a shithole in a unique way that can't be compared to places like Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, or parts of New York (most of New York is pretty nice though - even the shit areas are nice by Baltimore's standards). What I mean is, we don't have all the "housing projects" and high-rises you find in other ghetto shitholes. Most of the houses are decaying "rowhomes" (i.e. townhouses) from the turn of the century. You see, Baltimore used to be one of the biggest cities in the US, but after the end of the 2nd industrial revolution, it all went to shit. In the postwar years of the 40s, 50s, and 60s when other cities we growing, Baltimore was withering away. That's why our city literally has none of the mid-century high-rises or housing projects you find in other cities.

Phili is probably the closest to Baltimore though.
