Many people today seeing the post-soviet aesthetics in architecture and cloth >>719866308
just like at this pic. Is it spread in your country's? May be you have ur personal analog of this motion?
we have demo-niggers
I feel nothing for Russians. They made their bed, now they get to sleep in it. Just like us.
More borsht, comrade?
russia is a depressing shithole. dont feel anything about russia or russians. after 1917 revolution, when all the intelligent people were killed or exiled, now that remains is one big shithole.
You think nobody lives in there? I guarantee people do.
Yet even this looks more appealing than the ones in russia
Why do russian build building vertically when they have so much space horizontally?
Nope, Philly. Not all the crazy shit's in cities either.
Russia we're going to destroy you when Democrats win again.
You think this is poverty? You just wait.
Putin's killed you all.
>What you feel?
Wondering why this country is still considered an international (military) power.
Detroit, Philly, Baltimore, South Side Chicago, the Bronx, East Brooklyn, Cleveland, Buffalo, Rochester, We gave up on a lot of places 2 or 3 decades ago.
Meanwhile in EU post commie block we are restoring those homes to something acceptable.
One thing's for sure: Russia has pretty much everyone else's subway stations beat...
cheaper, and it uses standard template.
This culture comes from time when lot of people had to live in literal barracks after the war. This type of housing was like miracle to them, and russians could place a shitload of those houses quite fast.
Also fun fact, in moscow those buildings are placed in a pattern to act as "wave breaker" and minimise blast radius of atomic explosion inside of the city.
Yep, quite depressing
Do people actually enjoy living in these buildings, having neighbors 2 meters in every direction, hearing everything all around you? Wouldn't they be happier in houses, even if they are the size of a flat?
pictures dont come out of most poor places in Russia because those who live there and visit can't afford them.
It's actually Lithuania, good guess.
That's most of Mississippi and the rest of the South too. I'm just showing you northern cities right now. Worst American poverty is where former slaves lived.
Here's a shot from one of the 'tourism poverty' places. But if you go a mile or two behind there in the Delta, you'll see some serious shit.
Hot girls, decent food, cheap alcohol, no gays roaming about, Trans fags are still considered mentally ill, no niggers. Bad thing is it's kinda poor, cold, and there are Muslims and gypsys
Dude, I live in Alabama and though i will admit that the deep south is extremely poor it is nothing compared to rural russia where average income hovers at or below $300/month (and that's adjusting for purchasing power)
Russia is CP land. More kiddypron per hectare per erg than even thailand.
You can walk around st. petersberg and street girls will come up to you to beg, and for less than $25 US, you can take a couple of them back with you.
They often have scabies because they live in abandoned buildings, so you have to be careful what flesh touches what flesh, and the older ones almost always have some STD, so it pays to get them as young as possible. You just have to be okay with fucking them while they cry.
For an american, russia is like an insane land of opportunity.
What you have in russia is what you get when you try to make everything cheap, and completely ignore aesthetics , ergonomics or even quality of materials. Worst case of industrialism that does account for psychological condition of people in any way.
Add to this years of neglect, and you will get what you see there.
Another fun fact, a lot of apartments inside of those houses can look quite good and modern. It's just nobody who lives in a house like that is willing to fix outside themselves.
Thanks for covering that one.
In case anyone's wondering, less money buys more rent and more goods in poorer places than wealthier ones. So adjusting for purchasing power never makes the poorer place look 'even poorer.'
PS: Russia's GDP/capita was $14,612 USD unadjusted in 2012. Mississippi's was $28,944 USD adjusted for inflation. But inequality is worse in Mississippi, and there's no universal healthcare, so for people living at the bottom, it's likely no better.
dude, once you leave moscow average income in russia shrinks to roughly $5000 anually and income inequality is far worse in russia than anywhere in the united states. Also russian healthcare is notoriously bad.
Russian ground is shit.
In the places where there was permafrost they build those highrises and now it's thawing into swamps making the buildings tilt. Many in northern russia will be homeless in the near future.
Russia is love, Russia is life
Even if you compare to post soviet places like Slovakia or Czechia.
If i sry to sum it up with one sentence, government actually works in EU so quality of life is much better, and even post soviet places are better kept and reconstructed.
There are few examples in this thread.
Personally, I don't have any feeling of impending apocalypse in EU as i had back home.
for fucks sake as someone who has been to Rural Tambov i can say that the average person living in rural Russia makes far less than their respective oblast's average income. Average monthly income in Tambov is WHEN FACTORING IN THE FACT THAT A RUSSIAN IN TAMBOV HAS ROUGHLY THREE TIMES THE PURCHASING POWER AS THE AVERAGE AMERICAN is 573 dollars a month. BUT the average farmer in tambov makes far less than that.
i was tired of my view, then i saw murica and putinstan
thanks i will never move
>government actually works in EU
Somehow, yes there is more control. But in for instance Romania or Hungary you still have a lot of shit mentality in the higher ranks. A lot of the general populace also lack empathy, plus having a "why should I care" mentality - except for family.
Like for instances Hungary, that spent the money they got from the EU for maintaining infrastructure for a lot of shady shit and turning salty when they got called out.
But it's slowly getting better in most places.
Here somewhere else, a quite common view in eastern Europe. Old and shit/renewed and awesome mix.
especially this one, this pic is so comfy for me. those cold, wet, windless days when everything smells so fresh. getting ready to pick mushrooms next day.
fuck i miss home
also, just because the buildings look like total shit on the outside, doesnt mean theyre bad on the inside. yall motherfuckers should see how some of these "poor" russians live.
ahueli vi vse
forgive english, i am Russia. i come to study clothing and fashion at American university. i am here little time and i am very hard stress. i am gay also and this very difficult for me, i am very religion person. i never act to be gay with other men before. but after i am in america 6 weeks i am my friend together he is gay also. He was show me American fashion and then we are kiss. wWe sex together. I never before now am tell my mother about gay because i am very shame. As i fock this American boy it is very good to me but also i am feel so guilty. I feel extreme guilty as I begin orgasm. I feel so guilty that I pick up my telephone and call Mother in Russia. I awaken her. It too late for stopping so I am cumming sex. I am very upset and guilty and crying, so I yell her, "I AM CUM FROM SEX" (in Russia). She say what? I say "I AM CUM FROM SEX" and she say you boy, do not marry American girl, and I say "NO I AM CUM FROM SEX WITH MAN, I AM IN ASS, I CUM IN ASS" and my mother very angry me. She not get scared though. I hang up phone and am very embarrass. My friend also he is very embarrass. I am guilt and feel very stupid. I wonder, why do I gay with man? But I continue because when it spurt it feel very good in American ass.
Completely agree. There is still corruption here. From places i've been to Hungary is one of worst kept. First time i got to Budapest it was covered in homeless people trying to get some warmth in winter. And most of the city looks like your photo.
What i do not understand is that there are actual people here who think russia is good. Come on, just travel a little and take a look.
thanks! i do, have been to most of europe. next is all the islands in the north atlantic, less dark skin not rasist just dont want goat flue
Poland, 27 years after the fall of communism looks better.
Except the one on my commute
Here in Brazil things are very shitty in some places.
Gonna visit Vilnius next month. What to expect.
Ex gf is Polish. Visited the Gdansk.Sopot/Gdynia area a bunch of times. Inside the cities/towns everything looks fine and modern. But go anywhere outside and it was a complete shithole.
>Communist tower bloc
>voting for Trump will cause this
If Trump would be responsible for anything like this, it would be from the "Love Trumps Hate" folks staging a revolution where they figure that a harmonious society is possible only through a purge of everyone that makes them doubt the validity of their poorly formed opinions.
Where you from in the first place?
What to expect? What do you mean? It's a great city overall. I live here all my life to this day. Vilnius is great for tourism because many people understand Polish, Russian languages. Expect students to know English, which is quite great. Roads are quite good quality, but nothing like Autobahns in Germany or some shit. Lots of shopping centres, restaurants other shops. Visit Old Town (city centre). Lots of interesting things to see, well kept historical old buildings. Police is actually gets better with the time, i.e. less corruption. Lots of bars and clubs are open at night in Old Town, you can visit if you want to. Anyway, lots of interesting things, though I don't care that much for them, so I haven't explored my city that well. Try to smile often, look happy to others etc., we need that kind of attitude here, because everyone are down and unsatisfied. Vilnius, by the way, looks quite modernised and technologically advanced, but that's just Vilnius and mostly near center. Deeper in commie blocks it's just like any post-soviet country. Avoid gypsies if you meet any. Try to avoid getting to shady places at night. You're a tourist after all, so, youre very easy target. Dont know what to else to tell. Just ask, I might answer. Oh, also, try to visit sometime in May or some shit. I hate winter and it makes me depressed, no idea about you. Taxis quite expensive, use public transport. We have those "G" marked busses (2G, 3G etc) that are "express" busses.
Why do I always see people walking around in tracksuits on Russian pictures? How hot is summer there? I mean I always picture Russia as a very very cold country. Are they used to it or am I mistaken on the cold part?
this is what happens when an entire industry sector becomes bloated, self important and disconnected from the realities of progress, competition and consumer interests.
once innovation is shifted to the marketing department, it's only a mater of time before you run out of ways to convince people to buy the crap you are selling.
yes, the unions had something to do with the decline. but the auto industry conceded to the unions and traded their future for the present as they believed they were invincible and the money would keep rolling in regardless.
i feel like there is barely anyone in that picture because they have probably all come over to my country but then they just talk about home and say oh yeah its so pretty and muh culture ect...
then i wonder will they ever go back to this "promise land"
Usually when somebody makes proud russian argument I ask them to name just one thing designed or made in russia that they have used in last few days. Nobody can answer that for some reason.
I'm a Burger that would like to travel to Russia. Where should I go? I was thinking St. Petersburg and Moscow? Someone told me St Petersburg was really nice and Moscow was kind of meh but as long as I'm there...
Fletcher Street's riding community has been a part of the Philadelphia community for over 100 years. For many of those years, Fletcher Street was part of a larger urban horse community that numbered in over 50 stables throughout Philadelphia. Today, it is well known that the area surrounding Fletcher Street has increasingly struggled with unemployment and drugs overtaking the community; the men and boys of Fletcher Street have in turn struggled to maintain their horses, stables and way of life as conditions have become increasingly difficult.
The mission of The Fletcher Street Urban Riding is to save and restore this historical, important facet of Philadelphia's community, and most importantly, its children. Fletcher Street's horse community is for many children, the only safe place to be mentored, to feel good about themselves, to learn important lessons in responsibility, discipline and reward. Many of the boys that frequent Fletcher Street have little to no support in life and the men on Fletcher Street have consistently taken it upon themselves to provide a positive environment and some facet of stability for those kids that have none. Fletcher Street is determined to preserve its legacy, children and horses.
Context means a lot, this was interesting to learn. Thanks!
what the fuck is this bullshit? Niggers move in -> Whities move out -> suddenly africa
When white people moved out, who is gonna work? Niggers?
>blame robots instead of niggers
this is some next level blind leftist shit
While I was still in those countries I met an engineer from states who had long distance relationship with local girl. Skyped with her a lot, sent her money. But when he came to visit her, she actually had a local boyfriend that she was living with.
This is a really common story. People are people everywhere. If you show off wealth you will attract those who look for money.
Greets from Whittier, Alaska
Greetings from Hungary!
I'm planning to travel to Syktyvkar this summer. Is there anything special to know about this region?
(You seem to be one of the locals according to these photos.)
Nah man, I live on the shore.
My house has heated granite floors. These are just our projects. Can show some war torn areas and monuments though. This one is 50km away from me.
Looks kinda like Baltimore, although I don't recognize the neighborhood (and I know Baltimore City and the surrounding county like the back of my hand). Yeah, my city is a real shithole, and a shithole in a unique way that can't be compared to places like Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, or parts of New York (most of New York is pretty nice though - even the shit areas are nice by Baltimore's standards). What I mean is, we don't have all the "housing projects" and high-rises you find in other ghetto shitholes. Most of the houses are decaying "rowhomes" (i.e. townhouses) from the turn of the century. You see, Baltimore used to be one of the biggest cities in the US, but after the end of the 2nd industrial revolution, it all went to shit. In the postwar years of the 40s, 50s, and 60s when other cities we growing, Baltimore was withering away. That's why our city literally has none of the mid-century high-rises or housing projects you find in other cities.
Phili is probably the closest to Baltimore though.
They are. We get harsh winds during winter. 150+km/h
I live in a comfy tourist/fishing town. Pic related.
Post more slums. These pics are comfy af.
Glorious jewel of Luník IX
This is what happened in Slovakia when they gave gypsies free new apartments & welfare. It took them just couple of years to turn it to this.
