Anyone interested? Should I keep posting?
I read that gladiators were more like pro wrestlers and dying in the arena was actually rare.
They were fed high carb and fatty diets so they could have bloody fights and still survive.
I pained this attached picture.
Very true. However, that painting comes from the era of romanticising the Roman and Greek cultures, so historical accuracy wasn't focused on.
greatest act of propaganda of all time

The Library of Alexandria at one point housed the ancient world's largest collection of books, transcripts, and literature. It was then subsequently destroyed by the Christians.

I always liked this one. Luc Merson "Rest on the flight to Egypt"
Caesar is the name taken by the Roman Emperors. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesar_(title))
Julius Caesar was the first Roman 'emperor' who led expeditions in Egypt thus the possible burning.

No building can be art.
A car cannot be art.
For something to be classified as Art it can have only one purpose, to be a piece of Art.
Building has a use over being Art same with a car.
You can use any painting as a blanket, or a doormat. You can use a statuette as a paperweight. Anything can be used as anything and it doesn't detract from its artistic value.
Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.
So then by definition art has no usefulness?
If art exists for the sake of existing, then is it art, or merely man's desire to dominate and create?
Why cannot something have beauty and purpose?
For instance, look up the audience headquarters in tokyo. Beautiful building, obviously artistic in conception and creation, yet not art by your standard?
Why must practicality and artistry be exclusive?
Hell, even math is an art, which I suppose means I agree with you, once you get past practical applications. But alas, I've opened more questions than I have closed.
Are you high? Monuments are buildings made specifically for their artistic value. Even if we don't take monuments into consideration, many buildings are designed and built solely because of their aesthetic or impact on culture.
The woman was accused of something or another. The guy in blue was her attorney. Since physical beauty was a sign of favoritism among the gods he ripped her robes off to show the court that he had to be innocent because she's hot. It worked.
