I'm using a shitty 20-$30 PS/2 keyboard I got at DSE years ago. You get no sympathy from me.

What really pisses me off is how loud they have to make everything these days.

I invite you: If you have a 10 year old mouse laying around, compare it's sound with your current one. Goddamnit, it's a mouse not a musical instrument.

I'm angry.

I don't know that much about cheap backlit keyboards tbh but i would advice you to ask this on /g/ in the /mkg/ thread or /csg/ if you wanna go with a chink keyboard (they are usually pretty good tbh) because no one here seems to have any idea what they are talking about.

I don't have tpab on vinyl but i do love that album
those four are the only records i own really i just bought them to decorate my setup because i though it would look cool.

your keyboard and your mouse are the devices that you use all the time when using a computer, depending of the time consumed it is not a bad idea to buy something slightly better than the cheap shit going aroung or at least thats what i believe, i do not consider 70$ a lot given the fact that i will keep this device until it dies (so did the previous one, Logitech g110 which i had since 2009)

I bought a CM Storm QuickFire XT - Full Size Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches for typing and not for gaming. It is OK, but I think I paid more for it than it is worth. I thought I would be getting a keyboard with less key pressure than this and the home keys have the tactile marker in the wrong place for the tilt of the board. I regret the purchase, although it is far from defective.

I used a vintage AT keyboard for about 25 years. I kept having to buy adapter plugs through the years.

Hello

I have a Ducky Zero with brown switches at home and i love it. I'd like to have a mechanical keyboard at work too, but the browns are far too noisy for that use case. Any silent mechanical keyboard that is fit for office use? (i share a room with coworkers so it really has to be kinda silent, like normal keyboards are)
>>
>>719767975
i think this guy >>719758406 answered your question
>>
>>719767975
clears are probably your best choice. they are the most quiet cherry switch. they are like browns but good and heavy. topre would also be good but but they are pretty expensive.

also look into O rings
>>
>>719768312
yeah i've seen that chart however i'm not sure if i interprete it correctly. Are the most silent keys the red keys (soft -> silent, no bump and clicky noise -> even more silent)?
However I'd miss the tactile bump my browns make, this makes it feel so much better.
>>
>>719758358

anyone has experience with dampening o-rings? do they make the typing feel shitty?

Some prefer not having a numpad as they have more mouse real estate.

yes

>>
>>719772135
but some people actual use the numpad, it is very helpfull when working with numbers, your fingers travel much less distance + there is no use of two hands, numpad is operated by only one hand
>>
>>719772525
and if you don't need the numpad, i've put a lot of programming shortcuts on my numpad

Buy my keyboards for $5 from a surplus store; which, hear me out, still work flawlessly after almost 20 years, are mechanical and smooth to use as my cherry switch corsairs and logitechs. I only buy extras for other pcs, projects, or replacement caps. Brands like razer use cheap plastics that wear down much quicker, keep your keyboards clean as possible, most people have fur and crumbs growing in their shit.

also i feel like i wouldn't like them because they are so light. i switched my cherry blacks to gaterons and i had to go back because they were too light and that is a 50g switch. currently on cherry clears though and im really liking them.
