ITT: God tier albums
Do you know of any songs/bands with similar vocals to troldskog faren vild?
All three are top tier black metal, fantastic stuff. Haven't listened to Gorgoroth idea, but that sounds great right now, glad I have them all in lossless
Not overly but there other folk stuff.
Tenhi are good they do more classical style/composed music, not as black metal.
I like Death In June a lot, as well as Lakes https://lakes1.bandcamp.com/album/arms-in-twilight from Melbourne.
It's hard to find the choir style/folk stuff unfortunately
Genghis Tron - Dead Mountain Mouth.
Fucking awesome album.
Isengard/Storm are Fenriz's side projects, they do pagan/folk black metal.
Wongraven is Satyr from Satyricon side project but is more along the lines of ambient/folk black metal (Think jailed era Burzum)
Actually this was my first. I'm trying to get more into the Euro/Nord stuff. Just don't know where to start.
I don't think he'd say that
I dont know...
maybe this is to edgy to post here
No others can compete
If you disagree with me then I disagree with you.
>looks at thread
Immortal - At the heart of winter
Emperor - In the nightside eclipe
Amon Amarth - With Oden on our side
And most of all... Wintersun - Wintersun
No covers tho, I just wanted to chime in you faggots
I'm not so sure about this one. It's a bit of a disappointing record sandwiched between the release of two better records that are themselves overshadowed by their work in the 90's. Not bad, but I hesitate to call it god-tier.
also this album
Much like Koloss, I feel this record is overshadowed by the two releases around it, especially their EP "I" since I think it's a more well thought out version of what this album tried to be. Not bad, but unfortunately just didn't quite do enough to stand out and ends up being an example of them starting to tread water.
It kind of saddens me that Del hasn't put out anything that's quite as good, this album is damn near flawless. Dan the Automator's production definitely just tied the whole thing together
I'll always put his first two records above this, but this isn't bad at all. This was kind of the beginning of his decline though I think, nothing has really interested me as much as the first three records.
Definitely up there, but I have to give it Destroy Erase Improve. There's just a certain level of aggression that hasn't matched DEI and Chaosphere. The Violent Sleep of Reason is probably the most aggressive they've been in awhile to me, but it's just completely overshadowed by their 90's work.
