Because a 250w will do 2, but its at the edge of not enough, and a 400w will be enough for three with ease.

You can buy a hood, adjustable ballast and say a 400w metal halide conversion bulb, and a 600 or 1kw hps bulb and that should work for up to 6-8 plants depending on how long you veg, but if you only do the two, just set the ballast for 50%.

If you didn't get autos, you should just do one or two, and pull clones before you flip, save the other seeds for another time.

One of the most prevalent lighting setups is to use a metal halide (MH) bulb for veg, because they emit primarily blue light. Then for flowering, you would switch the bulb to a high pressure sodium (HPS), which emits red light. The red light, in combination with a 12hr light/12 hr dark cycle will mimic the Fall season and propel the flowering process. These bulbs will require a ballast for power, as well as an inline fan for cooling, because they get very hot.

You could also use compact fluorescents or tube fluorescents, but they are not as high powered and will not produce the same kind of yield.

I don't know a lot about LED lighting.

Light wattage depends on how many plants you want to grow.

A 600 Watt Lighting setup can probably provide illumination for 4 or 5 plants, give or take.

As far as a temp range for White Widow goes, I am not sure. A general rule of thumb is to keep your growing environment - warm (70's) - but not hot - and arid.

If some plants turn out to be male once flowering starts, you will be throwing those plants out & potentially wasting some of your space+light where a female plant could have been.

I haven't heard this about candles, but I guess it might work. You'd need a lot of candles I think for it to make any kind of difference, especially for a 3-4 month grow cycle.

I have read that CO2 supplementation can be beneficial, but I personally wouldn't mess around with it for my first time.

I would wager that having good circulation around your leaves - by using fans - would provide adequate CO2 from the ambient air.

I'm currently doing 7 under 2x600w. Two will be plenty. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned yet is a carbon filter. You fit it to your extractor fan and it removes the smell.

Any plant will be hungry for different nutrients at any given different stage in its cycle.

Nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus are the main ones to be concerned about.

I add silica as its essential but not present in hydrp nutrient due to it raising ph to inadequate buffering levels

Anything that takes my fancy. At the minute I've got 6 Bubblegum and one Northern Lights, last one was 6 Green Crack and 2 Girl Scout Cookies. Just buy some seeds - and a lot of seed companies will throw in a couple of free seeds - then take cuttings and grow just the best pheno for the next grow.
I tend to avoid Hazes as they generally have a long flowering period compared to most non-hazes.
I personally like the fruity ones. pic related was a good one.

okay, we talked a night or two back about several things. I mentioned I overwated a plant a week ago and its seem to be pulling through, which I think it has, but I am worried now the leafs are too far gone and I should just scrap the plan and get what I can from it now.

I've got a few more images from yesterday. The problem has stopped, but now I've lost around 30% of my leaf and wasn't sure to keep pushing through.

I am at week 6, the issue I had was over watering, and heat stress. I was hoping to push another week and then flush a week.

I worded that wrong, I was thinking since so many of the leafs were damaged if the plant thinks it has to go into repair mode so I am wasting time.

We are at about 90% cloudy, so if I chopped, I would still dry/trim/cure the plant, just want to know if I am wasting my time going the next two weeks or not.

That wasn't me the other night, but I'd prune all those damaged leaves. In that state they're probably using more energy than they're producing. No need to change your plan, even without those leaves there's still plenty of green to photosynthesize and it'll soon put out new leaves. Losing 30% of the leaf isn't a problem imo. I'm constantly cutting out leaf, thinning them out so that the light can penetrate.
