So how often do you guys think about death? Starting to get pretty often for me.
>>
>>719632254
I think about death a lot. It's a positive thing for me because it got me interested in existentialism, which gave me perspective on life
>>
>>719632794
I see and speak with older folk everyday, I want to die young. These people seem more depressed than normal not being able to do much
>>
If the overall trend was that of attainment of happiness and satisfaction in life I think I'd see things differently, but from what I can tell the average person lives far longer than their body is designed for and end up broken down and miserable. Maybe if you convince yourself it's worth it somehow you'll eke some joy out of hard work, but I don't know if I see that happening for me.
When I think about suicide it's never a "man, everyone would be so sad" scenario. More of an escape, with the havoc it'd wreak on my friends and family preventing it.

everyday from since I can remember it.
>>
I think about it fairly often.
I'm an ER nurse, so I'm frequently in situations that make me face my own mortality. Especially when I see how often people's mundane plans are interrupted by sudden unexpected catastrophe.

It does not make me want death. I know I can't stop it. It makes me appreciate the life I have. It makes me always tell the people I care about that I love them before parting ways, and it makes me NEVER part ways on bad terms with anyone I care about.
>>
>>719633288
I understand what you mean, until recently with the help of modern medicine no one lived passed 60. Starting wonder if we ever should or if we will evolve to cope
>>
>>719633624
We only evolve up until when we mate, though. Doesn't really matter to evolution what happens after we've reached mating age.

Recently, yeah.

Retarded anecdote

Observe
>>
>>719633624

The average life expectancy has improved, but that doesn't mean that nobody lived past 60

>>719633996
Creatures do not evolve during their lifetime at all. They are born with certain traits, and if those traits are disadvantageous they are less likely to live long enough to reproduce than those creatures that were born with advantageous traits. Thus, advantageous traits have a higher likelihood of being passed on to the following generations than do disadvantageous traits. That is all evolution is.
>>
>>719632989
>I see and speak with older folk everyday,
Really? How old?
>>
>>719634769
I know, I'm saying we don't evolve traits for after we've mated because we've already passed our DNA on. Which is why we deteriorate sharply after prime mating age.
>>
>>719634769
You miss what he is saying. He said that the genetic advantages that you are more likely to get are those that improve your reproduction or your survival in the mating period of your life. Genes that improve your healh when you are old are less likely to pass unless you are gonna be able to produce offspring at that age too so it becomes an evolutionary advantage
>>
>>719633624
Total, complete and utter bollocks.
>If we look again at the estimated maximum life expectancy for prehistoric humans, which is 35 years, we can see that this does not mean that the average person living at this time died at the age of 35. Rather, it means that for every child that died in infancy, another person might have lived to be 70. The life expectancy statistic is, therefore, a deeply flawed way to think about the quality of life of our ancient ancestors.

Im an electrical mechanic, I deal with the area remaining farmers, they range from 40-83 and one being 90. Once they get to a point they can only drive a trctor and bribe inlaws to do anything hard, they hate it and themselves
>>
>>719635007

I was not missing what he said. He said we continue evolving until we mate. He already clarified his statement in response to my reply.
>>
>>719635110
Interesting. I'm 62, still work and I certainly don't want to die yet. Nor am I depressed or not able to do much.

I think about dying sometimes. It makes me sad, so i go back to thinking about how i'm not gonna die.

It's how i'm gonna die that scares the shit out of me.

It could be.

Everyday. In fact, I dreamed I was electrocuted to 'death' this morning in a Minecraft-like world, which jolted me awake. It was by some eel-like thing and a "crystal fish" that I couldn't avoid.

I look forward to death, but have no intention of rushing it.

I have a pretty shit tinnitus so I think about suicide pretty often. I don't do it because of my mother, though; when my younger brother died she lost a few screws and avery now and then she mentions that what keeps her going on is the fact that she's still a mother.

Theres nothing wrong with it. I usually think about it. What will be the cause of my death, something like that.
>>
>>719637698
Why did your brother do it?
>>
>>719632254
I've been suicidal since grade school. It's pretty damn frequent if I can't distract myself from reality. That's all I do.
>>
I did a lot as a kid, but the more in charge I become of my own life, less frequently I think about death.
>>
Maybe 2 or more times a day.

Im happily married, going to school, veteran, loving family. But still cant stop thinking about ending it.
I think its just one of those things that will never go away
>>
>>719636057
Both?

I'm hoping cancer tbh. Bad cancer. Get me a shitload of oxy and fentanyl and hole up in a crackhouse.
>>
>>719632254
About 2 or 3 times a day depending if im not busy.
It sucks because i would be driving and suddenly transported to my death bed where I'm trying to grasp my las breath of air as everything goes black.
Then i snap out of it and have a mini panickattack for like 2 seconds. Then isnap out of that and tell myself i gotta think of other stuff
>>
>>719638996
Same, married, have a great career, good family on both sides. I feel horrible every day and want it to be done
>>

I got tinnitus very bad when someone illegal firework went off in my ear this New Years eve. After having panic attacks and drinking heavily for 3 weeks, because of all the horror stories I've heard from family and doctors how you can never recover from tinnitus. But after said three weeks I said fuck this, I'm gonna start looking for an actual solution until it kills me. I've been following this program called Tinnitus Terminator, and am a third part done with the program and can honestly say, it has helped even though I'm not done yet. Here:
https://tinnitusfix.org/
You will be offered an additional nutrient bassed program called Tinnitus Terminator Supercharger, buy both the primary Tinnitus Terminator and Supercharger, and read them thoroughly.
I chose both program because it confirmed many truth that I already knew of hearing, and nutrition, so I figured that lessened the odds of it being a scam.
Don't blame me if it doesn't work though, was just trying to help even though I'm not finished.
And if you do decide to try it out and it does work, spread the word.

Yes there has been caused damage to the inner ear, but the tinnitus it self is a literal brain damage. Won't go into detail since I don't care enough, but like all things that need healing, optimal health makes it heal faster.

Ah, the Fedora gambit. Old and well tried: try to discredit uncomfortable truths by disparaging them whist simultaneously trotting out a tired stereotype.

Here's a different hat for you to wear
>>
a lot... i also picture me going insane or just die in all sort of ways, usually with loads of blood. doesn't really bother me since i always have been pretty cool with death, even as child.
