I don't know where these things ever went. The last 'new' ones I have seen were produced int he early 90s. Its safe to say that in the US very few people under the age of 28 have ever been on one.

I remember my grandparents had them in the late 80s. You get this weird cultural trait thing going on about kids using them. They were never seen on TV or movies so we never saw someone using them the 'right' way. Instead every kid would kneel on it and push off. Years later I remember seeing a video of people sitting on them and swiveling instead of kneeling and pushing off.
