god tier albums thread
here ill start
I liked the soft bulletin a lot more. For some reason though the singer started to bother me as time went on. The singer is kinda annoying. Like super annoying. I can't listen to them anymore.
Upopular opinion, but this album is very, very underrated and downright perfect.
Punk ?! That mersh shit isn't punk at all, punk is dead. long since dead.
Yea. Punk isn't dead...
>an album for those with a mind of a sheltered child
uhh yeah it is. If you were around back then you might get it.
His faces project is the best he's ever made
Really all of their albums have a perfect mix.
Your smugness aside, a lot of the absolute shit kids call punk now is just simulacra. I'm not saying the old records aren't badass still, it's just all the true punk bands are gone. Everything after a point was just derivative. It was like a napalm bomb--it exploded and burned like a motherfucker, and then it went out. It wasn't meant to last or be an establishment. It's dead--it was art, now what people are trying to push as punk is product or a copy of a copy of a copy.
Be gentle. Got me through a loved one's suicide.
There is water in the bottom of the ocean.
Carry the water, remove the water.
Forgot about this guy. Seen him twice live. Once opening for the decemberists. God tier show. One man band for sure.
Flaming lips will always be God tier. But soft bulletin will always have the closest spot to my heart. Remember /b/ a spoonful weighs a ton.
<< also my addition for the metalfags. Live long, shred hard, worship satan.
Death Death, Devil Devil, Evil Evil songs.
Holy shit, they did that circles song that was on the cartoon network bump jesus christ anon you just hit me in the nostalgia. I recognized their name
Before they went downhill from the style they were developing.
God FAHK took long enough
What a shit thread
false, "im with you" and "by the way"
In terms of the amount of good to bad songs on a rhcp record, getaway is only second best to "blood sugar sex magik"
sorry m8 but artists and bands change with time
Pretty good, certainly not god-tier, though
R8 my variety
I thought The Rubber Factory Factory came before, sorry mate.
I respect your opinion and will not contest your musical taste. I try to cover a good number of genres.
Already mentioned but might aswell.
Fun fact: this album is really fun to do DMT with
I think that album is the one that syncs perfectly with some Harry Potter movie or whatever.
I suppose I was looking for a "why it's shit" as an alternative over it simply being shit.
I was at a mix between Demon Days, Plastic Beach, and their original album.
Plastic Beach started implementing electronic focused tracks, but started swaying away from their punk rock influences. They were trying to convey a different message at the time.
For me at least
now to go buy some red bull and a can of frosting to eat for dinner
fuck you i like eating frosting big whoop wanna fight about it
afi is about the best you can get with emo and that's not saying much. afi/brand new/some taking abck sunday. all the mainstream shit is the best of the genre. emo kind of sucks.
Sit down, grab a chair and lets listen to green day without a care
Really? No one has posted this masterpiece?
Fav album ever, to bad everything they made after this was shit.
don't expect anyone to know this band, they're fairly small
Something about these guy's last few records just hasn't clicked with me yet. Admittedly I've only listened to them a handful of times but none of them have quite clicked with me the way Filth did on first listen. I would definitely pick To be Kind out of their last three for sure though, it's definitely good.
at some point i feel like these guys sold out
early albums made you sound like you were listening to the inside of a crazy person's brain ("hit to death in the future head").
got much more approachable over time.
Huge fan of flaming lips old rock stuff.
Hit to death in the future head
Priest Driven ambulance
Clouds taste metallic
Listen to those albums all the time. All 4 of those are god tier albums in my mind.
As much as I try and want to be a fan of everything past clouds taste metallic, I just cannot get into them. I know quite a few people who feel the opposite; who enjoy their new stuff and don't care for their old stuff.
to each their own i guess.
