It's a technical job but low stress and I don't have to take it home with me etc. I work 8AM to 5PM, then clock out and don't worry about shit.

I would like more money, but my stress level is basically zero right now. I make enough money to meet all my needs and still have money for vacations, hobby etc.

Wake up, get food, get to work. Usually cleaning the rig, assisting the driller in changing bits and such a few times a day. Lots of heavy lifting and moving of materials. I have my loader permit so I'm getting trained a few hours a day in that area. Generally you work 30 minutes, take 5 to 10 to warm up inside and do work in the warmth. Keep in mind most drilling and oil sands work is done in the winter so we are talking -40 average cold (at least, in the area of the world I work in). So yea.. hundred pounds lifting at a time 12 hours a day with 2 hour long breaks. one paid. Go back to camp at the end of the day, eat dinner, shower, sleep. Do it again the next day. Fun times.
