ITT: Post God tier western rpgs. Bonus points for it being available on steam. I'll start.
>Bump and patiently wait for skyfags.
This is pretty good
Gothic 1 & 2 ( and the 3rd one, IF you install the community patches - just pretend the addon does not exist )
this was before original sin and dragon commander
These games look good. Always been meaning to give em a try
I like fallout 4. But I understand it ain't for everyone
if you can get past the somewhat dated graphics, the game and story is really good
Yeah, that's a pretty good one. Too bad about the development issues. You can really tell that they were going for an MMO when walking through the especially empty areas on the world map.
>ooo woes me, I'm such a monster now that I have sweet monster-killing powers
>look how ugly I am with my awesome white hair and kick-ass yellow eyes ;_;
>I'm so shunned by society for looking so cool
>you definitely wouldn't want to be me, life is pain
I would honestly put CK2 down as a RPG. The role playing elements are pretty much more important than the grand strategy ones.
It's been a long time since I trolled anyone. Didn't expect to see any second-hand trolling from my post though.
For a broken incomplete game this thing is so much fun.
Any RPG that really lets you be the character you want and have a significant impact on the world around you by doing so gets a recommendation from me.
the basis is average Joe while watching tv gets suddenly transported into another world and dropped from the sky and land on a beach.you can choose three different paths leading you to encounter either the warriors, wizards or conjurer s and have help that faction take over the land in order to be sent home.
the really interesting part the same story is told from a different perspective depending on what side you choose. example as a warrior you have to attack the evil wizards base,if you play as the wizard at the same point in the story you have to defend your base against the evil warriors. So you end up completing the game 3 times to see all the sides of the story.
When you have no taste in games
your tv travels with you but ultimately doesn't survive the landing, however an airship captain is quite interested in listening to you explain the magical box that lets you watch people in far away lands. It's pretty funny when our modern world collides with their midevil midset
speaking of gay as fuck weeb shit. I got a 3ds for christmas and have been playing the fuck out of fire emblem, but all of the conversations, facial expressions and voice acting is all cringe as fuck
What is wrong with weebs that everything has to be so fucking cringy and weird. jesus fucking christ.
The Japanese just love their beautiful characters and melodrama.
I mean, you can surrender yourself to it and enjoy it quite immensely. I get the appeal. But it can be hard to swallow at times.
The part i dont get is why the girls when they react to stuff just make weird fucking noises. And they do like run on jokes that werent funny to start with , like kellam in awakening is really hard to notice or something. but its just so retarded it boggles the mind
Fallout 1 and 2...
Fucking shame what Bethesda did. Van Buren was almost guaranteed to be great.
The Bethesda Fallout games were ok, but they strayed so far...
There seems to be these standard character voices in Japanese media. Since characters tend to be based more on archetypes rather than intended to be unique (we rely on archetypes a lot too, but mainly out of laziness rather than as an intended style), they seem to always have this same way of talking to where it sounds like Japan only has like 10 voice actors but there's actually a ton of them.
These stylized vocalizations go along with that. Though when you actually hear regular Japanese people talk normally (rather than characters in an anime), you do notice a lot of exaggerated-sounding vocalizations as well. In that case it's just a difference in language.
And then when English voice actors are asked to dub the dialogue, they have to take on a similar manner of speaking to make it fit and stick to the characters, and it just sounds so unnatural.
awakening, i got fates too but i figured ide go in order. Fucking fun shit tho man. I wish i wasnt so scared to let a few characters die off tho. i have a shitload and only like a quarter have usable skills
zezenia is a good ripoff of tibia
and tibia is from 98 i think, reports say it can run in a calculator and its popular in countris where hardware is expensive like poland and brazil
>both are games without sound
Agreed, but that was Obsidian which included a number of Black Isle folks. I just ran through it again a couple months ago, including all the DLCs... The storytelling is so much better than 3 and 4. The NV storyline is really good, but becomes pretty profound when you include the DLCs.
I just fucking HATED Dead Money for the gameplay. Felt like a chore.
say what it is please. people who haven't bought it on steam might not know.
Based on the glowing and obvious modern manufacturing of the swords, I'm gonna guess "Shooting swordsmen game"?
It's based on a book series influenced heavily by slavic and western european myths, written by a polish author. Made by a polish game developer.
Where the fuck did you get the not western thing?
Just rumors unless I missed an article or something in the last few weeks. If it ends up being true, I'll be one happy fucker.
I found Lonesome Road great on the story side, but it was a kinda lacking in terms of gameplay content.
OWB was really fun and I enjoyed exploring the Big Empty, putting the computer assistants back together at the base there, etc...
I thought Dead Money by FAR had the best backstory of the DLCs just didn't really like the actual gameplay.
I consider Honest Hearts somewhere in the middle on both counts.
FO4 is a Fallout game in name and setting only. It's a fucking shooter, the factions feel bland and cookie cutter, the story feels forced and a bit cliche, the dialogue options were dumbed WAY the fuck down, to the point that dialogue was fucking meaningless.
I put a ton of time into it - broken ass, rushed-feeling, shitty settlement building system and all - and I even enjoyed it - the gunplay was great, they outdid themselves" the graphics.
As far as Fallout games go, though, it was pure horseshit.
