the basis is average Joe while watching tv gets suddenly transported into another world and dropped from the sky and land on a beach.you can choose three different paths leading you to encounter either the warriors,wizards or conjurer s and have help that faction take over the land in order to be sent home.

the really interesting part the same story is told from a different perspective depending on what side you choose. example as a warrior you have to attack the evil wizards base,if you play as the wizard at the same point in the story you have to defend your base against the evil warriors. So you end up completing the game 3 times to see all the sides of the story.

There seems to be these standard character voices in Japanese media. Since characters tend to be based more on archetypes rather than intended to be unique (we rely on archetypes a lot too, but mainly out of laziness rather than as an intended style), they seem to always have this same way of talking to where it sounds like Japan only has like 10 voice actors but there's actually a ton of them.

These stylized vocalizations go along with that. Though when you actually hear regular Japanese people talk normally (rather than characters in an anime), you do notice a lot of exaggerated-sounding vocalizations as well. In that case it's just a difference in language.

And then when English voice actors are asked to dub the dialogue, they have to take on a similar manner of speaking to make it fit and stick to the characters, and it just sounds so unnatural.

Agreed, but that was Obsidian which included a number of Black Isle folks. I just ran through it again a couple months ago, including all the DLCs... The storytelling is so much better than 3 and 4. The NV storyline is really good, but becomes pretty profound when you include the DLCs.

I just fucking HATED Dead Money for the gameplay. Felt like a chore.

I found Lonesome Road great on the story side, but it was a kinda lacking in terms of gameplay content.

OWB was really fun and I enjoyed exploring the Big Empty, putting the computer assistants back together at the base there, etc...

I thought Dead Money by FAR had the best backstory of the DLCs just didn't really like the actual gameplay.

I consider Honest Hearts somewhere in the middle on both counts.

FO4 is a Fallout game in name and setting only. It's a fucking shooter, the factions feel bland and cookie cutter, the story feels forced and a bit cliche, the dialogue options were dumbed WAY the fuck down, to the point that dialogue was fucking meaningless.

I put a ton of time into it - broken ass, rushed-feeling, shitty settlement building system and all - and I even enjoyed it - the gunplay was great, they outdid themselves" the graphics.

As far as Fallout games go, though, it was pure horseshit.
