Singer 911's are totally rebuilt with all the best components. They mix and match all the best parts from all the years to create some sort of Frankenstein that is still genuine Porsche. They put modern brakes and shocks on the older 911s etc. The engines are totally rebuilt. They also upgrade the interiors and improve the sound insulation. It's a better car overall, not just fast.

In 2021 the 1996 model will be 25 years old and legal to import into the USA and drive as a classic car. You can find them for sale for about 20K-30K.

I don't understand what you are saying. The Honda swap almost doubles the power, and that's if you leave the Honda motor stock. The K20 has tons of aftermarket turbo and supercharger kits that can push it well over 500 hp if desired.

Here is a insane Toyota MR2 with a highly modded K20 swapped in it. Imagine this MR2 but with a chassis that is another 800lbs lighter. That's what the Elise could be. The Elise chassis is awesome, they just put an underpowered engine in it.

For my money, I'd get a Corvette. Deam car/unlimited funds though, I'd go with a 911. I was spec'ing one out just the other day. A 911 Targa 4S, in this specific color combination, in a manual, with extra performance bits like carbon brakes and whatnot, and little luxury bits like actual aluminum trim. It worked out to about $160k.

Sure there are classic sports like E-types, hypercars like a La Ferrari or Ford GT, or even some vintage open-wheel race car, but I want what I feel is the right mix of manageable, fun, flickable, powerful, and luxurious, and that is a 911 Targa 4S.
