Alt-right doesn't mean anything. Used to be all the Tea Party and antiestablishment types that got clamped down on by Obama and the IRS but when the Dems lost the election it suddenly meant everyone Hilary called the basket of deplorables and then they threw in hard core racists like the KKK.
The Dems and main stream media created a resurgence of those hard core racists by shutting down any meaningful conversation about race, immigration and feminism. When there isn't meaningful conversation about these thing all you're left with is the extremist on either side. That's how we got left with BLM roots and a rebirth of assholes like the KKK.

Back in the 90's, during the usenet days, alt.right was a channel for those who didn't like the direction the neocons were going. America is not a Democracy. It is a Constitutional Republic. This was done specifically for a variety of reasons. Limiting the federal government's power and protecting the states was incredibly important to the founding fathers, as they all felt very strongly against authoritarian governments. They were also concerned with voter knowledge/interest disparity. Balancing voting power is more important than 1 person 1 vote, and they were attempting to do it in the least racist/classist/sexistblahblah objective unbiased way as possible. Well, if you remember your history, this was a major point of contention at the time as well. The founding fathers had to draft the constitution and get a bunch of opinionated people to agree on something or get no where at all.

They wrote the constitution knowing full well that we would have to fight the civil war. An unfortunate truth that was in every 8th grade social studies book.

To this day, I would argue that only people who pay taxes should be able to vote, ie, people with jobs/property/etc.. Why should someone who contributes nothing to society determine where other people's money goes? But that's my two cents, and is honestly probably my most "fascist" philosophy that I subscribe to. And would be obsolete by the time it would ever be legislated anyways, as robots will take all of our jobs anyways and the whole idea of government will be turned on its head. But meh.
