What would happen if a knife made of ice would collide with a normal, lava made knife? The knives would be exactly same size and the overall temperature of the knife made of ice would be -1000 C° and the overall temperature of the knife made of lava would be 1000 C° also.
Would the knives nullify each other in a way that only empty space would remain or would a knife of zero C° be generated?

I still don't understand how a knife can be heated to 1000 degrees with a propane torch. Do people really believe this shit?

A legendary and quite boring monotone 0 celsius knife.Like just imagining the knife makes be bored

-1000°C arent even possible, the absolute zero is at around -273°C

Look at the fucking picture, it says right there its -1000C. You sound like a fucking retard who could read the Bible and still not believe in God

Celsius as well, so 1832 fahrenheit

>A propane torch can reach temperatures of up to 3,623 degrees Fahrenheit when used in the open air.

>According to Chapman's "Workshop Technology" the colours which can be observed in steel are:[1]
> From To
>Black red[2] 709 1010
>Very dark red 1010 1210

So yes even if it's dully glowing red it's probably around 1000° F
>>
>>717335837
This is basically how they make swords. You take two knives at opposite temperatures and combine them to make a larger and stronger knife. This process is called folding and the glorious nipponese can fold their swords 1000 times.

+- 1000 C is a alittle weak though. Typically done at the temperature of a propane torch, 1500C.
>>
>>717335837
Depends if they collide during the night.
>>
>>717335837
yea i watched those videos pretty badass
>>
>>717335837
I wouldn't say 0 degrees.
maybe room temp I guess.
>>
>>717335837
It depends on the specific heat of the ice and the lava you dumbfuck
>>
>>717336391
and in fullmoon while there is a legless hairless cat on the table where they collide
>>
>>717335837
wouldnt the extreme low temp make the metal really brittle
>>
>>717335837
i don't know but 1000 C knife channel is shit and boring.
>>
>>717336553
why should the cold shit shine blue, blue shining objects need to be even hotter than red ones
>>
>>717336370
Thats while it's in the flame though. As soon as the torch is taken away it looses heat fast since it only heats up a small portion of the blade, that spot is probably close to 1000 degrees but as soon as you take the heat away or move it the heat in the steel will be sucked away by the steel around it that isn't nearly as hot.
>>
>>717336584
the first two you watch are mildly entertaining, but it gets old almost immediately
>>
>>717335837
because of the near liquid state of both knives, they would merge before instantly solidifying together as one knife.
>>
>>717335837
the impossibility of having something of -1000°C, and the idiocy of thinking mixing a hot and cold object will leave you with one object left, aside:
the result would be a temperature dependent on the thermal capacities of both masses.
given they can store the same amount of energy each they'll nullify the temp.
>>
>>717336824
why should something really really cold be almost lquid, the colder it gets the harder
>>
>>717336119

>>717335837
The fact is that, things CAN reach -1000C. For all we know this number is in base 2. So that would equal -8 C.
>>
>>717336631
>looses

also if it's still glowing, it's still more than 1000 degrees. it's always still glowing when they start to cut. and even if it's not glowing, it could still be up to 1010 degrees.

basically you're an idiot, those videos are garbage and bullshit but not because of the temperature. that's one of the few things they get right

get it together

you can only have below kelvin if you can have negative energy, and the verdict is still out on that. so it is very possible both knife could ihniallte each other.

Glowing red, first of all is around the upper critical temperature, or 1200 degrees. No...not one point will be hot that's stupid, from the first moment you put the flame on it the heat will start radiating outwards. Of course the point where the torch hit would be hotter first, but obviously the person would be moving it for a more even heating. Know what else happens at upper critical temperature when something had carbon in it? When quenched OT heat treats OT making it Harder. Note that I said harder not stronger. Well made knives are at least 67-70 RC. This means they are incredibly hard but Very brittle. You can't have both, with strength you lose hardness. Which is why titanium is not more commonly used in production of things aside for when you need a lightweight material, because it's shit and has no strength. Anyway, knives are generally severely quenched using water or an ice compound to get maximum hardness. If you touched the two knives together so you know what would happen? Nothing. The knives have already been heat treated so they have little carbon, what would happen is the ice knife would begin to heat and the hot knife would cool down. You would hear sizzling and see evaporation happen quickly. The hot knife will now look hard blue and blotchy, the ice knife will have a lighter colour but will look sameish. The hot knife will also be normalized a bit and lose hardness. Anyway what in trying to say is this thread is stupid.

Absolute zero is at -275.15. Anyway, at 1000C, the rock/lava/metal or whatever is still somewhat hard, so the absolute zero one will shatter like broken glass.

1000 degree knife vs infidel

>>717338975

>>
>>717335837
the cold knife would shatter, the molecular structure of metal is affected way worse by cold temperature than by hot

worst thing that can happen to a hot knife is that it melts (and it doesnt), but a cold knife close to absolute zero will shatter like stacked powder
>>
>>717337856
Hope you are just trolling, because that is totally bullshit. There is zero evidence that anything can go below absolute zero. And there is no such thing as negative energy.

>>717335837
They would at some point reach thermal equilibrium so yes it would be around 0 degrees celsius (as heat is compensated as it flows from hot to vold up until the point that they are the same temperarure) and thats in an ideal situation assuming you arent accounting for the temperature in the environment your in
