Who gets arrested for weed?
When I was 17 I've been stopped 5 times carrying weed and when they asked if I had anything I told them the truth.
All they would do is look at it and tell me to toss it. I have never once been taken in. And I live in Canada.

They'll try to assign you a public defender. Tell the judge that you don't want him (because they are not free and the court will include their fee in the court costs). Just tell the judge that you'd rather do time than receive probation. You'll do 7-10 days tops, as long as you don't get caught breaking the law while you're in jail. There will be weed in jail available to smoke. When you get out, you'll be done with it and with any luck, you'll meet some great connects during your stay.

It beats the nuisance of having to report to a probation officer once every month for an entire year just to take a piss test.

North Carolina. In NC, you pay a fine, court costs and you have to do a years probation. Probation mandates monthly drug tests for possession charges.

I've had friends who got busted and they said that probation was fucking hell. PO would show up at their house and just walk in without a warrant, looking for paraphernalia. (they don't need a warrant if you're on probation)

When I got busted, I just told the judge I'd rather do time. I did a week in jail. No fine. No probation. No drug tests.

All I had to pay was the court costs.
