There is tons of diversity, for better or worse. About half the population has a romantic notion of the individual. That life outcomes are merit based. The other half is more concerned with the effect of the environment on life outcomes. People in the states work hard and seem pretty open. I've traveled to Norway, England, Fiji, Mexico, Canada, and Russia. From what I've seen in those places, there is a consistency to people. The way your culture is shaped by eat, sleep, and procreate makes nationalism seem like splitting hairs. Overall, good. The economic opportunities make up for the statistical downsides, namely non socialized education and healthcare, as well as the prison system.
