What language that uses the Latin Alphabet is the hardest one to learn?

In my opinion:
1. German
2. French
3. Portuguese
>>
Finnish
>>
It's English, by a long way.

English is about 4 languages mixed up with no logic.

"Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo" is a grammatically correct sentence in American English, used as an example of how homonyms and homophones can be used to create complicated linguistic constructs.

Pope Francis's native language is Spanish but he also speaks Italian, Portuguese, French, German, Ukrainian and Piedmontese (a language spoken in the Piedmont, an area in northern Italy). Of course Pope Francis is also conversant in Latin- the official language of the Holy See.

I highly disagree m8.
btw you are right when you say that italian is not even hard; tho you should agree with me that the "true" italian, the one of the 13th/14th century is way harder and enjoyable.
Being able to read without pausing 24/7 a piece of poetry of that age is what makes today italian a not-shit-tier language.

Yet I understand that italian now as now is not a language worth learning due to the fact that only one country speaks it.

All European languages do it. The English grammar system collapsed during the transition from Old to Middle English (Old English had grammatical gender). English has it in a few things, for example, referring to ships with feminine pronouns (although in Old English it was neuter).

Romance languages tend to reduce the three IndoEuropean genders to m/f.

Slavic languages tend to keep the three IndoEuropean genders m/f/n.

Of the Germanic languages Danish, Swedish and Dutch merged m/f to a common gender, thus ending with two, German, Norwegian and Icelandic kept the three genders, English (and some Danish dialects) merged them all into one ender.
>>
English btw

It's grammatically like german but even more of a pain in the ass and pronounciation is like icelandic but even more headache inducing.

We have a way of starting to learn danish called street danish (Even if it doesn't in anyway sound like actual street danish) where we pronounce every consonant hard. This makes learning the grammar easy even though it gives a lot of us a very thick accent.

This is primarily due to us pronouncing most things how they are spelled with the exception of ð which is like the danish soft d. But it can be pronouced many, many, many different ways which makes it a bitch.

An example of faroese fuckery is the words: Veður, vevur & vegur. All of them are pronounced exactly the same (With a v sound in the middle) even though they mean many different things (Weather, loom & road respectively)

Also everyone from the Faroe Islands is an alcoholic.
>>
All of you retards who say that English is easy...learn the language without being bathed in it every second in your life. But it is easy. Only like 4 verb forms (take, took, taken, taking), 3 noun forms (table, tables, table's) and that's kinda all flexion there is. Compare with polish adjectives, which have 3 genders x 7 cases x 2 numbers to make roughly 42 forms. Seemingly without any logical pattern.

>>
>>692516803
i think the reason people have different opinions on this is because english is technically a really complicated language, but you get a lot of exposure to it through media, so its a lot faster to pick up once you know a little 'cause you're kind of forced to practice a lot
>>
>>692528956
Bro, I can hear the accent inside of my skull even when reading it.
Some of the dialects originating from southern Jutland are quite similar to what you're explaining.
Also, Danish has got an abundance of local dialects, many of which are difficult (read: impossible) to replicate, even for a guy whose got an ear for it like me.
- My local dialect often cuts away d, or makes it into double d, cuts away e and turns next consonant into double, or messes with the structural integrity with the sentences themselves.

Yeah, I realised, Faroe people are alcoholics.
- Big words for me whos used to taking the ferry to Puttgarden (Germany) often, for the sole purpose of buying alcohol (ciggies and cheap candy ofc).
