Jezus, how do you find the time too smoke so much? Would a person like you watch a movie without a brake in the cinema and just leave for a few minutes to smoke a sig? Actually interested in this. Thought about it yesterday at the movies
>>685368898 i quit smoking cigs for a year now. i smoked for like 3 years and 16 cigs a day. i quit smoking because my grandma found out and stopped hanging out with junkie friends and focused my time in the gym.
>>685369351 Vaporizing helped me cut down on my cigarettes, might work for you. I mean, i still smoke cigs but not nearly as much. And im not coughing all day like i used to, also easier to breathe and catch my breath
>>685369633 This, focussing om improving your body realy changes your mindset. It makes smoking and other unhealthy rituals feel bad and it wil cause you too life a more healthy life. You only need to be dedicated to changing your body. By for instance making a strict gym scedual. This way you'll feel more pushed too work out
>>685370300 This desu. But since i stopped hanging out with friends ( 1 year ) im just really depressed no friends, no one to talk to. Yeah im at the gym making gains, etc but i'm just so fucking lonely. No one to talk to about anything. 2 of my best friends moved away. And i dont want to go out with my old friends that only smoked weed and drink. I wish i had just 1 friend to talk about fitness, etc....
>>685370012 Just try to find your dopamine in something else. Find a new hobby. Preferbly in sports. It will make you feel great and restore the damage that you've done too your body for a large portion
>>685368898 Start vaping some strong shit, on a strong vaporizer. Then gradually slope your nicotine intake down until you're vaping nicotine free, then it's a matter of putting the vape down... Good luck with that . VN
>>685370669 I too am smoking mainly because i'm hanging out with my friends.
I could choose the same path as you took by leaving them completely. Most of the time it feels like the best thing to do, but i'm affraid i'll end up lonely so i'll stick by them. Although they really have a bad influence on me.
Maybe you should talk to the people at the gym since you're training so much. Maybe there are more people who think the same way as you do
>>685371446 Yeah.. idk man. You're right i should meet some new people but at the same time everyone at the gym has that ''i dont care about you'' look on them you know? Maybe it was a bad desision after all to leave my friends .. idk.
>>685371278 What happens if you trow away al your sigs and lock yourself at home for one day? Have you ever tried? Just one day without smoking, It'll feel like hell i'd imagine but it'll show your mental strength and a first step in the 'right' direction
>>685371278 Yeah man, basically $15 a pack for mine, i used to live near a gas station that sold john players for $10 a pack but i moved and all thats near me now is a Petro Canada, theyre so expensive.
>>685368898 I was up to 3 packs for a while. Cut back to two before quitting cold turkey. Here's a help: get into the habit of inhaling a bit of air before smoke. Mostly though, it was a habit thing for me. I had jitters for about two weeks, then it was just fighting the urge to do anything with my hands during idle moments. That tapered off over two years.
>>685368898 Vape my nigga, was a pack a day smoker for 10 years. Didnt even want to quit, bought a vape so i could stealth some nicotine on business flights. Before long i wasnt even buying cigarettes. Slowly tappered down nicotine levels in the vape liquid and finally just stopped. Honestly the best way out there. Quit without even trying
>>685372721 Meeste van mijn vrienden zijn op school weggestuurd, dus heb daar ook niet echt sociale contact mee. Volgende week laatste examen dan naar ROC en dan hopen dat ik iemand met de zelfde interreses tegen kom.
>>685368898 >75 a day Uwotm8 Literally never heard of someone smoking that many How do you even find the time? You must be literally chainsmoking with no gap from when you wake up until you go to sleep
>75 cigarettes a day >at least 3 cigarettes per hour, without sleeping >5 or 6 per hour if you have any form of life and sleep like a normal person would >almost 1 cigarette every 15 minutes or so for the past 12 years of your life
I'm calling bullshit OP.
Firstly where do you even get the money for all those tabacco's?
>>685373428 Well cigs take around 5 mins to smoke so I guess you mean a couple mins break inbetween? How did you even get that bad? How do you even afford it? How old are you? How long you been smoking for? How long you been smoking like THAT for?
Lots of questions there but I'm interested, this is utterly bizzaro
>>685374338 Answer the rest of the questions, what age did you start smoking? I always thought 40 was the upper limit even for lifetime smokers, you're a proper idiot for getting this bad but I hope you make an effort to at least cut down
>>685368898 >>685368898 I only ever made it to about 2 packs a day OP but e-cigs kinda take the edge off. Just get one and use it when you start to jones really bad then keep that up. Once you find a regular rhythm and your jones eases up use a lower nicotine e-cig or vape liquid and keep stepping your way down slowly. Took me 2, almost 3, months to slowly taper off.
>>685375574 Or he's a professional driver of some sort. Maybe foreman, refuse handler, or something similar. 3 packs a day where I stay comes out to nearly 500 dollars a month. The only people in this world who enable that bad are the ones who keep telling you you're not an idiot.
What is your physical state atm OP? Has the smoking made you feel sick of hindert your life in any other way? If not, you're lucky and shouldn't risk destroying your body. If it did, it is time to smoke less or stop completely, maybe just a few sigs a day. 75 doesn't make you feel good. It is just too calm down the bad feeling a habit creates. That way you're not enjoying your smokes
Man you post this shit every day. You quit with willpower, not by asking for advice on 4chan. BTW I've been smoking for 15 years and I still only smoke about 5 cigarettes a day. How can you smoke that much? I actually don't even believe you.
>>685368898 Listen to me OP right now: find a 7 day resor in the middle of fucking no where. No store No people No shit but a mudhut. Go there. Go there and spend 7 days. This will happen if you do not bring your own: Day 1: holy fuck Day 2: eat everything, sweat and curse the wind Day 3: Youre almoast there but youre still on the drug Day 4: You got this, do anything but smoke Day 5: Yout got this Day 6: DONT RELAPSE Day 7: enjoy the day & DONT RELAPSE rest of life: Please OP dont relapse like me ....
>>685368898 >anyone here managed to quit a 3 pack a day habit?
Yeah, I did. Middle aged motherfucker here. Smoked 3 packs a day for a couple decades. Tried quitting a thousand times. Finally, when my wife got pregnant with our first kid, we made a bet. Every cigarrette I smoked, I'd give her fifty bucks. For the first couple weeks, I tried to sneak a few here and there. She caught me almost every time. After a while, not smoking just became normal. Now, once every few years I go get drunk with a buddy I rarely get to see and have a smoke. Give the wife fifty bucks the next morning (and crave cigarettes like a motherfucker for a day or so, by the way!).
>>685368898 I've been clean for a year now. Been using the gum and it helps alot. Get a nice buzz from it and have disassociated it from smoking. Can't even stand the smell of cigs anymore. Plus the gum costs about 60$ a month instead of the 300$ a month I was spending on cigs.
>>685377769 I might add that the weird thing is in my twenties and most of my thirties, everyone knew me as the guy with a smoke perpetually stuck in his face. Was easier in those days cause you could smoke in bars, restaurants, everywhere. No one could ever imagine me without a cigarette. Now, my kids, same age as some of the useless cunts that populate /b/ come to think of it, can not in their wildest dreams picture me as a guy with a cigarette and kill themselves laughing whenever they see an old pic.
>>685368898 It's pretty easy to quit, all you really need to do is slowly decrease your intake, I went from 3 packs the first 2 days then 1 pack then 3 ciggaretes a day for a week then stopped craving it. Also find yourself a fucking hobby, like sports/games Also whenever you get the urge just edge with your penis till you forget about I. Don't just jizz, save that part for before you go to sleep. Drink a fuck ton of coffee (black preferd) And stay away from smokers.
If this doesn't work just switch to weed less harmful
OP. No joke. I broke my habit by switching to a Juul vaporizer. I tried all the v1 and v2 e cigs to try and quit and nothing worked or it was dumb because you had to dick around with liquid bullshit. Just go buy a Juul. It's superior to a cig. I thought it was impossible.
>>685368898 Yeah. It's pretty gnarly tho. Go for a 30 minute walk after work. Mix up nights when you drink + smoke with nights when you only drink or only smoke. The target is a change in habit. Recognize what makes you want it more, then just fight through it; with a walk, with some push ups, a video game, a cold shower. Just gradually reset your habits and the confidence of being able to do it in minute segments will help a lot more than most anything else.
You're adorable. Obviously, you didn't know it hurt, otherwise you wouldn't have compared it to giving away one dollar. Meanwhile, I'm a cuck for making a deal with the one person who I see every day and who can suss out whether I'm keeping the bargain or not. Never stop being you, son. (and please, never breed, mmkay?)
>>685379571 > Go for a 30 minute walk after work > Mix up nights when you drink + smoke with nights when you only drink or only smoke. > The target is a change in habit Could you please help a /b/rother out with more advices or tips like this? .. they could work
>>685368898 Schizophrenia is a common mental illness with a high prevalence of smoking. More than 80% of schizophrenics smoke compared to 25% of the general population. Both schizophrenia and tobacco use have strong genetic components, which may overlap. It has been suggested that smoking in schizophrenia may be a form of self-medication in an attempt to treat an underlying biological pathology.
>>685380262 no tool, cancer is what happens when you do this to yourself. i smoked for 3 years, not as long as op but still a while. and what i posted is exactly what i did to quit, i just quit. have some willpower. you smoke because you like it, no other reason
>>685380370 Dude, consider it this way ... nobody likes giving money away, right? so theoretically I do know it 'hurt' to give FIFTY fucking bucks, what I am saying is that you're THE SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE here that accepted that deal in the first place and kept his word, but that doesnt mean your stupid advicd applies to anyone trying to stop smoking fan
>>685381580 Thats fucked up because your body craves it,fuck man .. I would go to the nearest hospital and ask for help, even if you walk around a few weeks,or months with nicotine badges (or whatever they call them) and nicotine gums and smoking 70 instead of 75,then 65 and s on ... until at least you feel better with youself
smoked for 16 years and suddenly i started fantasizing how much pain i would be in when the cancer started spreading thru my body and I actually started getting anxiety pains in my chest abd i decided to just get home from work and smoke my last cigarette ever while walking home from the bus. I had 2 closed packs at home and a pack I was smoking out of. My point is you can't just be a pussy and think of alternatives, you have to suffer those 2-3 days and be rid of it for good, after 6 months you will laugh at how stupid you were and how you were a bitch for waiting so long.
>>685381635 I recommend them to everyone I know who smokes. So far anyone who tries it has quit or prefers them to smoking normal cigarettes. One unit is 5 dollars and contains the same amount of nicotine as a pack of cigarettes. No moving parts and charges in like 20 minutes. You throw away the mouth piece and filament after use so you're not sucking on the same metal crap every time.
> had lung X-ray because of bronchitis > found out I had stage 1 of COPD > bought a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of whiskey on the way home > drank and smoked the night away > quit cold turkey the next morning comma haven't had a smoke for 2 months now
