What kind of art does /b/ like?
/b/ needs an art thread
I like historicly inspired art
maybe somthing more weird and creepe, but still art like this one
i enjoy taking psychedelic pictures like dis
try and guess the 3 things that created this
gonna continue dumping some art I got.
Don't really have a preferred style, just whatever appeals to me.
Some good ol' Surrealism
Hitler was a sensitive man
He went to art school when he was younger
He wanted to be a painter
Hitler was a vegetarian
He was also a non smoker
He hired gay and handicapped officers
He was concerned about overpopulation
If Hitler was alive today, he'd listened to The Cure
The Smiths and Depeche Mode
>mercury, the messenger of god
I heard something about electricity once
thx anon^^ oh i had this feeling this was meant to be ophelia. it reminded me of the John Everett Millais painting and the movie melancholia right away! great interpretation for sure!
great one anon! goya rules
Turns out it's 'just' a book cover, heh:
No prob, just googled it though.
>some anon posted drawings done by an autistic kid he knew a few years ago
Personally this guy
i really like the chiaroscuro-style
Giger is awesome, I love surrealism.
Favorites: Anything by Escher or Dali. Picasso's blue period. Most of El Greco's work.
Landscape master race
Dali is awasome too, one more for you anon
ive been to the dali museum like 3-4times already. Saw a large Escher exhibition a while ago... reminds me of some feels though :( I was there with a girl I really liked and I had a great time... turned out it was just out of diplomacy and it kinda rekt me the last month... thats the first thing I think about now when I hear about Escher
Eero Järnefelt's landscapes are nice.
the kind that tells me a story.
Or gives the feels of some sort.
44mil for this shit. arts market always was and is pure hypocrisy
That sucks anon, I'm sorry.
Dude shills for a bit, real vid is about 2min in.
That's awesome! I haven't seen that one.
Man, I really miss The Joy of Painting.
I enjoy most art that has visibly had lots of effort put into it. I wanna be able to appreciate and make my own interpretation of something complex, not be told that a turd in a urinal is a representation of rebellion against an oppressive society or something equally retarded
also here's an album cover I quite like
so you dont like stuff like this?
not particularly. It doesn't mean anything to me. like, I don't actively dislike it, but it just lacks meaning or significance to me
having said that, I'm not really an artistic person at all, I'm more interested in sciency things
no its piss on copper. I cant agree with you completely on your criticism... Dadaism was a preform of surrealism, which is my favorite art form. This is by warhol, much later stuff, but the concept of making reproducible and good looking stuff with no effort put into it, can be just as exiting. I dont like modern art or anything like that though (stuff like this>>683618660)
>Not being into ancient Chinese paintings.
>4714 years after the founding of the Middle Kingdom
expensive arts is not only a thing you hang on your wall and look at, for most high society fellas, its mostly a status symbol. They try to impress people with stuff they bought, but dont have any major interest in arts itself. Its very similar to the music or movie industry. People who have no clue what they can get, buy that shit and ofc thats why there is a market for it.
An Archangel Michael Painting
how come no one calls bullshit on the other guy.
At least art from previous times has some depth to it, you can pretend you are cultured by giving at least one sentence about the art piece to your overly-tanned tennis buddy.
But you can't argue nothing with the modern one.
Romero Britto or that one guy who calls what he does art but is only marketting é_é
damn i can't stand this guy
which leads us to this affirmation ; art stops where galleries begin
Sure. Pic related.
I gotta say, reading through this thread, how much modern art still pisses people off is funny. I mean you guys getting pissed off have everything else in productive existence made to instantly gratify your vapid existence, why does other people wanting a bit more intellectual meat on their art bother you so much?
And yes, historically important unique pieces bring in lots of money in revenue so are very much worth as much as sports athletes and the like.
the main reason is because everyone profits from it... if they make money out of it, both the people who auction it, the artist and the people who control it for authenticity make profit. I also wouldnt think that all art pieces in museums are reals, there are many fakes hanging in every art museum and its for the exacly same reason why people like that are successful, probably the only difference is that the "fake artist" at least needs some talent to achieve his goal and the other dude just needs to know influential people.
I like communist paintings. I'm no communist, I just like them
>gratify your vapid existence
>intellectual meat on their art
I really dig minimalist architecture/design.
Early 20th century is my favorite period: post-impressionism, German expressionism, early expressionism and stuff like that.
another architecture fag in here?^^ I prefer organic though.
just found this dude today, pretty sweet. distinct lack of alex grey up in here
Anyone here familiar with the Barbican? The building is one of the greatest in London
Neutra's stuff is dank also
There's a gallery/museum in Paris called "L'Orangerie" which houses two COLOSSAL billboard-sized Monet water lilly paintings he created for Paris after WWI... fucking awesome... jaw-dropping...
I really like the art of Zdzisław Beksiński.
The sleep of reason produces monsters.
not all of his work were black an white
oh ok i dont know about this one. great post though! whats definitely missing in here is munch i love this painting
Appears to be a photograph. I love what the artist is sublimely message about post modernism in rural Amerce in the mid 20's
It's a girl, it's a girl child, she clearly does not have a penis and if you had done a simple google search you would have seen pictures of the very same girl to confirm this fact.
Clearly has a vagina and is shaped like a prepubescent girl - sure you could argue that to gather from those facts that it is a drawing of a girl is an assumption, but I would assume that in seeing somebody in real life who doesn't have a penis and in fact has a vagina you would make the same assumption.
