They get big on Soundcloud or Spotify or Youtube and then everyone buys their record through some online medium. See: Drake, Lil Wayne, every rapper post 2005. Soulja Boy, Fetty Wap. Mac Miller. Only a few of these have used the gangster image. Most of them are semi-genuine or genuine artists.
