Trickle down economics is a theory, coined by Regan and his homeys, that if you cut taxes on big business and the wealthy, that they either open more compnaies or make the company bigger and it creates more jobs. Making the economic health of the US better.

HOWEVER, in a global marketplace, the big business owners STILL ship jobs overseas regardless of how much extra they save on taxes. It has been proven that all of the economic stimulus money given to banks and big business DID NOT have a noticeable effect on job growth.

In many cases the economic stimulus package was only distributed at the top of the business and the ordinary workers till got the shaft. Hostess for example, took their stimulus and gave all bigwig executives huge chunks of change.... then they laid everyone off and disbanded the company.

Trump is a big fan of trickle down theory. The last 20 years have been a time of great wealth for the upper class, the disparity of wealth has grown exponentially with big businesses getting labor dirt cheap from China, India, and Mexico. The hugely wealthy and connected are only making much more with low taxes and government stipends (GE paid no corporate taxes last year). The middle class and poor are suffering and only suffering more than usual.

Giving the wealthy welfare (lets call it what it is, welfare for wealthy businessmen is faaaar more expensive for the US taxpayer than welfare for struggling poor people like we spend 20X as much on corporate bailouts as programs for poor people) hasn't been working out and it needs to stop.

It is simply the rich people swiping the communal fund. Between that and spending over half our tax dollars on military the US has very little to spend on programs that could help.

A proper answer (which no one will ever say who's in the pocket of the wealthy power barons) is to give tax breaks to employers who keep jobs American, give tax breaks to employers who pay a living wage (so the tax payers don't have to make up the difference when employees working 40 hours a week don't have a living wage), give taxes to to job creators FOR CREATING JOBS.
