1984 George Orwell and A Scanner Darkly by Philip K Dick
>>675608762
i enjoyed game of thrones a lot
>>675609306
OP here. Catcher in the Rye is pretty different from most novels I've read, in that the protagonist seemingly just whines generally the entire time. There's not much of a build up and it ends rather abruptly. However, because it's different from the norm in those ways, I liked it.

I always loved that book. You're pretty much right though, it basically just him roaming around new york reflecting on life. It always hits home with me because when i was 12, my brother died. A lot of people see Holden as whiny or angsty, but until you have to see your own brother die, you don't know what pain is. The whole book he seems lost or distant, just kinda looking around and thinking really deep about crazy things like ducks. That's the kind of stuff that happened to me too. I was fucking 12 contemplating the meaning of our existance and about who created the universe. That's the kind of shit you go through. This book will always give me the feels.
The Dresden Files
>>675610687
Not quite. I think 3 or 4 of the books follow the same chick then her kid but the rest are standalone. Crazy stories about a cheerleader type to meth whore
>>675610687

There's a line of theory floating around that the protagonist in CITR is mentally ill. That's why he gets hung up on shit like "phonies" and all that.
>>675611880
Sounds good to me.
>>675611833
Basically, everyone in like a 50 mile square radius is domed off from the rest of the world, but anyone above that age of 15 was teleport ed out or something, had to do with nuclear waste and basically all the kids are trying to survive but a lot of shit changes in the FAYZ(the dome thingy) they all get powers too

Eh I was looking at reading the series myself but Isn't the 3rd and last book in the trilogy like to be released this year? It's probably worthwhile waiting for it to release before starting the series I think.

This, especially the first two. Also Animal Farm. Ender's Game is good, even if the author is somewhat of an asshole. And some good short poems are Ozymandias, Invictus, and Thanatopsis.
