Because they're paid to do it. And I do know quite a bit about the production of comics seeing as how I produce them and have produced them for 11 years. One person inking is the exact same as another person inking. As long as they can trace the lines they're fine. You're putting WAY more stock into the ink than you should because again THE INKING IS LITERALLY JUST TRACING WHAT THE PENCILER DID.
I got that because I know how long it takes the industry to make a single comic. It takes a person 24 hours? Well it took Ub Iwerks 2 weeks to animate the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon (which was 13 minutes long). Just because one person can work incredibly fast or has no problem burning themselves out with work doesn't mean that becomes the standard amount of time. It takes the Simpsons staff something like 6 months from start to finish for a single episode, yet they're releasing new ones weekly. They're able to do that because, just like in the comic industry, just like in every industry, the process from start to finish is constantly going. They don't write a comic, then stop and wait for the penciler, then wait for the inking, then wait for the lettering. Instead they've got a dozen comics that need to be worked so while one person is doing one thing another person can work on something else. It's also why becoming a penciler at a place like Marvel is so difficult.
LG like that phone company but bbQ sauce too.
I sometimes wonder what im doing with my life. Then I remember that I cant do anything with my life because im inept.
whoops, posting a pic since I'm no better :P
I mean, I guess so, but it isn't the gfur I came here for
If this village needs a bicycle, I volunteer.

Rearrange your expectations.
>Inking is just tracing
This is just wrong. Just because you can't tell inkers apart and you've never seen what Marvel's pencillers' style looks like without inks, it doesn't mean the inks don't matter. You're just a buffoon if you say this out loud around professional artists. Just go look at the series of variant covers that Neal Adams has done recently - they were all inked by a different superstar artist. Compare how different they all are; some of them seem like they come from a different artist altogether.
And a publisher having to push a book months ahead because the artist took longer than he was paid to hurts the retailers who have to order from solicitations; a key part of comic books, but I'm sure you don't need me to explain it to you, since you supposedly worked in them. It's unprofessional from an artist to go beyond deadlines.
Feels good, you should try it sometime
>Dont overcome anything
Gee thanks crackpot philosophers
What should I expect coming into a gfur thread...? lol
I just feel like posting avatars is on the same level as people posting spiderman, filling up space, you know?
Gfur. And faggots.
And that's precisely what this is. Only more appealing, tasteful pictures of this muppet-headed beatle member.
People should shut the fuck up and keep their shit contradictory opinions to themselves.
Eh, can't say I agree. But I can't really dictate what you do, and getting angry over it won't accomplish much. I doubt I'm alone in this sentiment though
no but really i fucking love that picture
Ringo, for his amaaaazing artworks.
That's totally cool man. So what did you do today?
Lick more you said?
On break from school so I made every effort to be useless and do nothing. You?
That is undeniably false. Id have someone by now otherwise.
You could be the greatest person in the world but if you don't get off your dumbass and find other people, REAL people in the real world, you're not going to be in a relationship with a real person.
Trust me I know what I'm talking about, AhmBray
But I have. You think I would go 11 years without looking at pencils from the major companies? You're completely dismissing the pencilers, the people who put the frame work down. Everything after that is essentially just clean up and presentation. I've seen variant covers. The reason they look different is because they are different. You think that's because it's the inking? No, it's because the person who was comissioned to make the cover made a different cover than the others.
A publisher having to push a book back sucks, but it happens. You think that the comic industry is the only one that have to deal with this? No, actual book publishers deal with it all the time. I've seen books get postponed for over a year because they weren't ready for publication by the date they said they were.
I never said I worked in them, I said I've been producing comics for 11 years. Deadlines aren't always able to be met. It isn't unprofessional, it's human. You want deadlines to be met perfectly every time? Then make a machine that can crank them out instead of hiring human beings to make them.
Living the life I see. I had my break like two weeks ago, so I'm back in the groove of shool and being on the edge of a mental breakdown at all times.
I remember waking up at like 9, making breakfast of eggs and some nice toast, arguing with somebody about how immoral bake beans were on toast, and then studying for my macroeconomics exam for the rest of the day.
And then I took it and probably got like a C on it. Oh well. I'm looking forward to this weekend cause I get to to home and spend it with my mom and my doggo
Im too old to start, so whatever. After a few years it becomes apparent and easy to accept. Like if you get a limb blown off or you're in prison for life.
you want to be miserable then
its only too late when you're dead.
>Pearls Before Swine
Get the fuck out and never ever come back.
Sounds about average for school. Shouldn't be so hard on yourself though, I'm sure you did fine on the test
YOU ARE NOT EVEN 25 YOU DINGBAT
If you cant get sex before 20 then you should just not get any.
I'M TALKING ABOUT DIFFERENT IN REGARDS TO PRE INKING AND POST INKING YOU IDIOT. Look at Adam's cover inked by Simonson and you've got an example right there than inking isn't just tracing. That's it.
>You think that the comic industry is the only one that have to deal with this?
What does that have to do with anything? My original point was about the book Hawkeye being delayed, not about delays never happening. It's human, sure, but Aja isn't just doing a hobby. It's his professional job to send in his pencils in times like all of his colleges are able to do. Hence, unprofessional.
25 is the age you get old and basically just wait to die.
Well, you know when you know you didn't do suuuuper well on an exam.
Although hey, it wouldn't be the first time I thought I failed something and then got an A. What time is it for you?
New and strange levels of retardation are being reached tonight.
1am here, just doing whatever until I pass out. In a way it'll be good to get back to school, so I can feel productive
Sames. I'm just staying up so I can put off writing a paper due tomorrow at 3.
Man oh man, I do not want to be writing a paper tomorrow.
he's gonna get his legs blown off
in the war
Again, yes. I've seen pencils of comics and also the finished product. The difference is that the the finished stuff is clean. That wouldn't even be possible if it weren't for the penciler.
THE PENCILER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON AND THE PENCILS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE INKS.
Your original point is that you called someone unprofessional for taking a few months to finish a comic, to which I countered, a few months is standard across the industry, they just have it set up in a way that they're always ready to release one. Then you were saying that the fact that he fell behind and missed a deadline is itself unprofessional.
he's too soft to be in the military
>The difference is that the the finished stuff is clean
No. Simonson made the image more blocky and simpler, because that's his style. When Adams was inked by Lee, there was more crosshatching, because that's Lee's style. If you believe inking is tracing then you must be a lousy inker. Someone who isn't a penciller himself and doesn't know about anatomy can't ink at all, as Richard Friend likes to say in interviews. You're just talking out of your ass, and this isn't even related to Hawkeye.
>a few months is standard across the industry
Which you just pulled out of your ass. Every artist in Image claims to do their comics month-by-month, and that's just at least. Lee and Yanick Paquette are two DC artists who also work issue-by-issue, to name a couple. Why would they skip to a next issue before completing the previous one? It isn't animation.
Let's assume they take a few months, anyway. A few months isn't a year. Hawkeye almost took a year to produce a single issue. Why are you getting so tangled up over the fact that this is unprofessional? It just is.
why does it take so much effort to watch anime
It's not the INKER who determines the style either. It's the writer of that particular run. The inkers have no say in how things are going to get put down, they just ink. The writers and creators do, the pencilers then come in and lay the frame work down for the rest of the people. The inker then just traces the pencils. You have no idea what the fuck you're talking about and it's apparent. Richard Friend is defending a practice that literally can be done by children with basic coordination.
>Jack Kirby could churn out three pages in a day, today the audience demands a greater amount of detail and rendering. Printing technology has improved and the audience expects the artist to take full use of that improvement. Many of the most in demand artists cannot meet that monthly schedule. They require either greater lead time or they will have fill-in artists do a few issues of the book each year to allow the artist to have more time for the issues they draw, or they will work seven days a week.
I was talking about the particular set of variant covers done by Adams, where there ARE different styles depending on the inker. Point disregarded. I see you've dropped the Hawkeye discussion, too.
Nibi don't be so lewd.
That warhammer game just would. not. end.
i have no idea who that is, is that an alternative spelling of eisen
is aezin his furry name, like how the elves in Eragon have true names and then like public names, but they keep their true names secret because beings with magical prowess can use them in spells and stuff and like it would really fuck the person up
Go eat shit, retard.
Every year. In a couple months, you'll be doing it too. There is no escape.
there were two posters once
eisen and aezin
and I joked that they are phonetically the same
and so i call eisen aezin
the song girls just want to have fun make me feel like crying
Piss off you stupid piece of shit.
David. Get into the Voice channel.
I'll hug you, faggot.
When are yall going to hate fuck?
dev's a bottom right
yea but it was specifically the elves that had true names and social names, and were like, aware of it
hey listen to strfkr's cover of that, it's good
I know right, it'd be the next CocksXMugen.
If you tried that id stab you in the fucking stomach and watch you die in a pool of your own blood.
That's the best part though. He's straight, but not for you and now he is going through inner conflict as he is trying to deny his cocklust for you.
what a Tsundere
cocklust is not necessarily an immediate qualifier for bottomitude
though i kind of want to have a cocklust standoff with him now
tho honestly i'm more about the cock in its relation to the ass, ass is my obsession.
uh oh is nibs being bipolar again
I always had the impression of his ween lust with the implication of "put it inside of me".
I want to see your standoff.
it would be
h o t
>tho honestly i'm more about the cock in its relation to the ass, ass is my obsession.
I mean, that's what it's all about for everyone, right?
i mean that's what the cock is made for right
how do we stand this off, can you help
it's like, a mirrored relationship
whats the point of cock if there's no ass?
what's the point of ass if there's no cock?
i think i'd really enjoy doing amateur covers, but everything i'd sing would have to be down an octave
you sound great
i'd reciprocate but i've spoken so little today that my range is terrible and also scott is asleep
I hope I don't sound too gay
it would be really upsetting if I sounded gay because then everyone would know I was gay which would bum me out because no one ever like approaches me about it
I'm kinda doubtful that it would do anything good
I have a hard time finding these threads in the catalog when OP's pic is screaming gay
I like it when I have to think about it more
oh and I talked to the hot guy at work again, the one with THE ass, he talked to me again and I went all screaming schoolgirl to my room mate again
Was on the phone.
And I'm talking about the idea of inkers and pencilers in general. With the variant covers it's not the "inker" that's creating the style because the inker is also the penciler in that case.
I've been single for a while so when a hot guy takes the initiative to talk to me about manga and stuff, and continues to make conversation while I'm around sorry if I freak out, I read too many bara love stories..
I finally caved and looked for his facebook to see if I really had a chance, he's a competing bodybuilder, into guns, etc. but turns out he states he's into women, he's christian, and he's from texas.. so yeah that's why I'm back in the corner of the room being alphaasfuck on 4chin's furry board.
