Well from what I've seen of the show personally it has a good message of friendship which is something even most beta males on /b/ lack so they want to escape their world by watching a show that encourages friendship.

It's like when you were a little kid watching power rangers because it taught you that they were stronger together than they were apart. The only thing that's changed is the ponies teach it to your kids now.

I've also noticed that the main 4 tend to have a lot of character depth going through trials and endeavors just like in any other show just in a more "Friendship conquers all" kind of way. They really emphasize the point of togetherness and conquering tasks with the help of others.

They've dealt with body image issues, mild racism and even the problems friends can have between each other.

Most people who bash on it haven't actually watched it without the bias of "Meh it's a faggot show for little girls because muh ponies". Because of this most opinions are half baked like most of Bernie Sanders economic policies.

This is what happens when all your friends like MLP and you are only a casual observer. You start to notice that it's not as bad as people say.

It's literally just stop liking the things I don't like. If you want more of an explanation I'll give it to you but this is just what I've observed from my group of friends.
