I really don't get Picasso's stuff. I don't find it aesthetically pleasing.
Funny how everyone is posting paintings. Here's one too, but with some music as well, since OP said that any medium is accepted.

Excellent taste.
My new personal favourite piece is a post-modern renaissance piece captured in a frame.
>>614111029
I don't like the way it looks so i don't feel compelled to learn or try to decipher what it means. I have to enjoy the way that art looks before i can try to appreciate it on that level.
>>614109186
Thomas Kinkade has been a personal favourite of mine for years.
Rockwell is best

Basically, a candid photograph was captured inside the Ukrainian parliament.
As you know Ukrainian politics often end up in complete brawls, and in that moment, some photographer managed to capture a photo in the most perfect moment.
The photo's composition is flawless, aesthetically pleasing as the most famous Renaissance paintings and compositions
(given example by the golden ration) where the eye follows the main focal points in a fluid and aesthetically pleasing motion.

one of my favorites. will most my other favorite next.
>pic semi related. i think its pretty cool.
>>614111678
there's many different ways of looking at a piece of art. My interpretation is sort of the opposite, my prior understanding of the painting making the painting aesthetically pleasing to me.
>Art
>>614112288
Did someone actually paint it or is that just shooped? I want a good pic of the painting either way.
>>614112572
It is a photograph, and the bottom right picture has the photo in an frame, Renaissance style, showing how well it looks if you were to come across it in an art gallery

It saddens me to this day being reminded of that fact.
I'll never see anymore beautiful paintings drawn by him, no more warm summers in bright light, no more autumn coziness in orange verdure, and no more silent wintery nights under the stars..
>>614110086
This has got to be the most audacious piece of political art ever done
>fascists in Spain try to take Guernice
>fail miserably
>ask Germany to give a hand
>Germany carpet bombs the entire city
>for an entire day
>Spanish fascists go in the next day and find nothing but rubble and shattered corpses
>Picasso sees the aftermath
>gets pissed off
>starts painting Guernica
>on a canvass that's like 10'x30'
>Germany occupies France
>Picasso finishes Guernica
>does he display it in England, or the US, or any country that doesn't agree w/ what Germany is doing?
>fuck that shit
>he puts it on public display in German occupied Paris
>>614112395
That's crazy talk man! I can see enjoying what an artiest was trying to convey, or even just your interpretation of what they were trying to convey, and then enjoying the painting more because of it, but to think of a painting as beautiful you almost certainly have to start with enjoying the way it looks.

holy shit.. as much as i hate his pretentious look, that was fucking amazing.
>>614111714
What is the name of this painting, and the artiest?
>>614112847
Its named after Guernica, which got carpet bombed in the spanish civil war in 1937. Guernica gets rekt, Picasso witnesses the dilapidated city, and paints the picture.
There's many interpretations of it, but the main point is that its supposed to depict war and is anti-war.

have to admit that i know him only through 4chan, not because i am cultural enriched.
sometimes one or two of his drawings goes around here, but he got way more to show than that.
i am not a artsy fartsy guy but i would describe him as the antagonist of dali

Yeah. Didn't think so. I love Mueck's stuff because it's so amazing and understated. That fat lady with the water fountain vagina looks well done, but it's trying way to hard to say something, or make an impression.

The car is on fire, and there's no driver at the wheel
And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
And a dark wind blows
The government is corrupt
And we're on so many drugs
With the radio on and the curtains drawn
We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
And the machine is bleeding to death
The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
It went like this:
The buildings tumbled in on themselves
Mothers clutching babies
Picked through the rubble
And pulled out their hair
The skyline was beautiful on fire
All twisted metal stretching upwards
Everything washed in a thin orange haze
I said, "Kiss me, you're beautiful -
These are truly the last days"
You grabbed my hand
And we fell into it
Like a daydream
Or a fever
We woke up one morning and fell a little further down
For sure it's the valley of death
I open up my wallet
And it's full of blood
