I've been romancing Jack for most of the mission, but after recruiting Tali and helping her defend herself against charges of treason, I learned that she has had a major crush on me for years. Thinking about what her people have been through and how much thought she puts into the well being of others has touched me deeply and I feel compelled to break things off with Jack and pursue Tali.
On the other hand, the thought of hurting jack nearly brings me to tears. She has never known love and has spent all of her life alone. Also, she was tortured as a child. If anyone deserves a break it's Jack. She's had such a hard life. Although I feel more love for Tali, I do love Jack a lot and ending things for her would hurt her so much. I don't know if I could forgive myself if I broke her heart after putting so much effort into leading her to believe she could trust me with it.
>>609209364 Stay with jack bro, it'll be worth it. I know tali is super cute that's what I did, but I saw my friend do the jack romance and it was really sweet. Do it bro she needs some shepard in her life.
>>609209364 Jack is Loyal. She's also a crazy bitch, but god damn it she's a good person to have on your side, however if you're looking for an actual emotional connection and a girl that you feel truly cares about you, you have these choices
>Liara >Tali >Ashley
No one else is really in it for the long haul in this game series... I chose the girls from who I'd personally be with first. Liara IMO is BEST girl and most romantic.
>>609209364 I just finished the series not more than 2 days ago.
Liara and Tali gave me the most feels, BY FAR. I won't spoil anything for you, but god damn it if you don't feel like you'll never find a girl that will love you as much as they do when you're done playing.
Mass Effect is Feels on my Levels. despite teh fucking End...
>You always wish to meet a Girl like Liara, Tali, etc >You always wish to have a best buddy like Garrus You always wish to a guiding father Figure like Anderson >You always wish to have a badass Grandfather like admiral Hacket >You always wish for Friends like the Normandy who stick together no matter what happens or how rare are the Chances of Survival
>>609218663 Hell yeah, crazy girls are fun in bed, but scary if you piss them off. >>609218941 Yeah, she's sweet and innocent, and her whole race is sterile as fuck, but doesn't mean I couldn't get some weird alien disease like white people gave the indians.
>>609216553 You and me both, m8. The only other one I particularly like is Tali. Couldn't stand Miranda or Ashley, and Jack's disappointing since you can't have her as a crewmember in ME3 whereas Liara and Tali are both on board.
Also having an actual N7 hoodie gets you nerd girls. Who knew? Looks normal to everyone else, but people who get the reference geek out.
>>609218838 Yes exactly. and thats my One big Problem with that damn End.
The whole Series is about fighting against the Odds and believing because no matter how dark the Situation is, your Friends will aways be there. That was in Mass Effect 1 and especially in Mass Effect 2. But at the End in 3 is : " oh no Shepard you are totally on your own, the Normandy is just....doing whatever. Oh and dont try to resist because Space Caspar here says you have no Choice "... bah !
I fell in love with Liara during Mass Effect 1. A brave but shy scatter-brained goofball, plus she was cute and innocent. Something worth protecting.
But after I was killed she sacrificed too much and lost who she was. I'm thankful she saved me, but it changed her into something more like her mother. I wouldn't romance anyone else, but now I'm just kinda in it for the mind fucking before I jihad the reapers.
lol, wasn't Jack like gang raped on a freighter for a year or two before getting sold to slavers? And she didn't want to blow up the freighter like she did the Cerberus facility, so maybe she grew to like getting gang banged on that freighter.
I will never understand how you white knights over look the mileage already on the pussy you worship.
>>609221103 The funny thing is i am normally totaly for lets say dark or better realistic Endings. I served in the Germany Army and had seen and oen unpleasant Things when stationed in former Yugoslavia.
But here in this Game i really wanted to save everybody and have a happy Life with Liara at the End.
>>609221133 One Advice. If you dont already have it buy the Citadel DLC. I laughed more than in any other Game before and i always stop playing after that pretending that THIS ! is the real end and not that abomination that starts the Moment you attack the Cerberus Base.
I would have been fine with a bittersweet ending where Shep dies and sacrifices himself and everybody else lives happily ever after. Hated the endings with a passion. Felt like everything before them was so pointless.
No. I don't. For the same reason I didn't really like her mom. Benezia was ruthless and only cared for Saren. Maybe she wasn't always like that but that's what she became. Liara was the opposite. She cared for everyone and only wanted to benefit the world in a positive way.
It just reminds of that. I fell for Liara, and then put her through so much shit that she became her mother, which makes me exactly like my oldest enemy.
>>609222643 I really cant remind of any other Videogame, hell even TV Show that left me back with so much Laughter and Sadness together. I mean just the Music ! That aftrelife Music in ME 2 was better than actual club Music.
I get that feeling sometimes but then I remember what's waiting in the end and it still pisses me off. The ending is why you shouldn't leave things just for one guy to decide like Bioware did. Shit should have gone to a committee of writers so they could have told him what a stupid fucking idea the whole starchild thing was.
No, she only did what was in my best interest. But you're only reinforcing my point. The Liara I fell in love with wouldn't have sacrificed so much for just one person.
Think about what she did. She found my body, and sold it to one of the alliances sworn enemies, one of my sworn enemies, waging a war against the Shadow Broker in the process. All because Cerberus made some far fetch claim that they might revive me.
I would've wanted her to arrange my funeral and mourn me. Live up to my legacy and forge a path to fight the reapers. Not do all that nonsense.
Even when I came back and was right in front of her, she was still too preoccupied on getting revenge on the Shadow Broker to say more than two words to me.
I can respect her sacrifices and love her regardless, but she's a different person.
>>609223882 I can respect the fact that you disagree with the choices she's made... but the other option was that the Shadow Broker was going to sell your body to the Collectors... she HAD to do what she did for the SOLE fact that if the collectors got ahold of your body, Shepard Husk kills everyone.
At the very least, Cerberus wouldn't have sold you off to the collectors.
>>609223882 She did what she thought was best for the one person she cared for. She was not ready to accept Shepard's death and was willing to go to such lengths such that she did not have to deal with grief.
I hate when people hate on the ending... Granted, i never played it without the extended cut and all other dlc, but i thought the end was perfect... And even if you didn't like it, the other 150+ hours you put into the series can't be ignored... Best game series of all time...
Also 1. Tali 2. Jack 3. Liara 9999999. Everyone else
>>609224242 I never understood why Liara did the shadow broker stuff. Wouldn't it have made way more sense for her to just go back to being an archaeologist after the Normandy got destroyed? I mean, that's what she'd been doing for like 100 years. Suddenly she up and becomes a shady intelligence broker? Whaaaat??
It would have made WAY more sense for Liara to go to Mars and study the Prothean data left behind there. Then you could throw in a bit of foreshadowing about the Crucible into ME2. How do you get her to Illium? I dunno, maybe she's going to meet someone from the shadow broker to try to get a prothean disc or something.
I don't give a fuck All I know is that the renegade path in ME is fucking hilarious It's like Shepard is completely oblivious to the fact that a omnipotent AI army of gigantic space warships that has wiped out every advanced race in the galaxy millions of times is right on his front door. And he still fucks shit up.
>>609225189 You don't understand. She trades and gets information about the Reapers, she makes alliances with the gangs of the galaxy and convinces them to fight against an AI army, and she gathers political info about the Reaper threat. She turned into a Shadow Broker because she believed it would help the fight against the Reapers more than digging up old artifacts would.
>>609225068 Uhhhhh that wasn't an option, you understand that, right? SB was on your ass from the moment you died. Alliance didn't know where you were either. In ME2, you find out where you crashed later on in the game thanks to some free DLC.
>>609225189 I mean, yeah. She could go back to studying the Protheans even though there is nothing else she could learn to stop the reapers aside from the Crucible.
She was useful and personally I don't see her being as useful doing anything other than what she chose.
>>609225277 The whole point of the series was that organic and artificial life cannot coexist... That's why the reapers exist, that's why the cycle needed to occur... There is no magical fix everything button... Shepard shouldn't live, sacrifices must be made... Plus what would he do once the universedidn'tneed saving anymore? And the battle wasn't in his mind, idk what the fuck you're talking about...
>>609224840 >ending options: >1. Do the cannon ending and genocide the geth, who you just established 2 hours ago are sentient beings with as much inherent worth as organic life >2. Do what the Illusive man wanted to do >3. Some retarded impossible merging with electronics crap >also why the fuck is that dead kid the embodiment of the AI controlling the reapers >why does an AI that controls the reapers live on the citadel >why does mass galactic genocide every 50,000 years accomplish anything
Here's what should have happened: the reapers reproduce by harvesting biological material from intelligent organic life. Like a cow that returns to pasture once grass has regrown, they return to the galaxy to harvest civilization and carefully ensure its naive regrowth. The reapers are nothing more than the ultimate apex predator. By using knowledge passed down by thousands of cycles of wiped out civilizations, you finally wipe them out.
>without any bullshit kid hologram nonsense >like just have the crucible turn the citadel and mass relays into giant guns >its literally that easy
>>609225864 Still the original scrip that the first author would be better. It was about Dark Matter and organics reaching a Point is theri existence where tehy could use it and being on the same Technology Level as the Reapers. The Tali Mission in Mass Effect 2 on Heastrom is an hint to that Storyline they abandoned
>>609225824 Well. Yeah. She goes from being an Archaeologist to a galactic hero who is renowned for her skills in the field.
>>609225864 If the battle WASN'T in his mind, why did he wake up in rubble? Nothing made sense.
Why was there a DIRECT beam to the citadel where the crucible could be activated? Why did the pistol have unlimited ammo? Why did the Catalyst end up being the boy the NO ONE else seemed to notice except for Shepard?
How did Hackett know that you were in the Citadel? It was the reapers final attempt at indoctrinating shepard. The only way to win is by Destroying everything. In reality, Shepard was laying in the rubble from when the Reaper beam hit him.
>>609225669 But nowhere in mass effect 1 does she demonstrate the skillset to do any of that. In ME1 she is a shy, bookish, and socially inept because she's been working alone for decades on dig sites. She's not a master manipulator or conniving gangster. It just doesn't fit her character.
>Oh shit, I have Shepards body and both the Shadow Boker and Cerberus want it for shady reasons >Better play ball with one of them despite the fact that Shepard would rather me have his remains burned and scattered throughout space then be handed to either of them
She had other options. She even expresses distrust for awhile, not knowing exactly what Cerberus did. I could've be a cyborg, or a clone, or some other trick. She should've just burned me.
>>609225864 I guess you missed the part where, at the end of the credits, it cuts to the ruins in London and it shows Shepard's battered N7 armor half-buried in rubble...and then the chestplate rises as he inhales. >and then it cuts to black
>>609226514 Well, She already knew that SB was going to sell it to the collectors... Are you kidding me dude? She HAD to do something, plus you WERE still alive. Barely, but still. What would the Alliance do? Shoot you in the head and bury you and then try to face the reapers without Shepard?
>>609226607 Liara wouldn't have known any more than the scientists working on the crucible. Especially since Cerberus was trying to kill her to get the information on Mars REGARDLESS.
>>609226255 Hear me out on this theory. Reapers know that if organics evolve to a high enough point, they will create devices that can transcend space and time. However, they probably calculated that intelligent life would destroy the universe if allowed to try such experiments. in short, the Reapers believe and have theorized that advanced life will accidentally or intentionally destroy the universe due to human/alien nature. Organics are flawed in the fact that our minds can succumb to curiosity. Or insanity.
>>609225935 Oh how convenient... We just happen to defeat the ultimately intelligent, ultra powerful, infinitely wise, eons old race of super machines that outnumber us 10 to 1 because we learned some stuff about space guns from the programs...
No there is no magical fix... The crucible was the only chance, and the only thing the crucible does is implement a new solution to the organic life/AI eternal conflict... The hologram kid lives on the citadel because it IS the reapers and once it realized the reapers would eventually be defeated (many cycles in the future, likely), it had to devise a new solution... Otherwise organic life and machines would never stop killing eachother
>>609226476 Nigga, she clearly has military combat training and is a pretty powerful biotic. And Asari can be very convincing in almost every scenario. As for the information part of it, she's been fucking around with prothean artifacts for the past 100 years. She knows her way around transcendent alien technology.
>>609226930 Go watch it again. It's obviously an inhalation, not an exhalation. If it was "his final breath" it would be a slow exhalation / dying breath type sound. It's much more of an awakening GASP for air. Like he is waking up...
>>609209364 I've never taken a Tali romance save into ME3, but without the Citadel DLC Jack's is disappointing. You meet up with her after a mission early on, you dance... and that's about it. With the DLC she comes to your apt and tattoos you so she can identify your body, just in case.
>>609227273 If the kid is the Reapers and knows it will be bested one day, then why not approach Shepherd earlier and save millions of tax-payer money building the crucible and fighting a war with the reapers anyway?
>>609226992 Exactly. To me it would be something like: Reapers use Dark Energy as a main Power Source. Organic Life Forms learn to master dark energy at some point in their existence. Reapers show up before that happens so they can still be the dominant life Form. they dont kill every organic Life because they neeed us in masses to create new Reapers.
Heastrom is the reminiscent of a Civilization that was close uncover the secret to use Dark Energy.
Anyone else kinda feel bad for TIM by the end of the game? He was basically just a slave to the reapers in the third game. All he wanted to do in the second game was to help humanity and he ended up biting off more than he could chew to achieve his goal
>>609227455 ARE YOU SHITTING ME Nigga, Shepard was the FIRST PERSON to know that the Reapers were coming. He has Prothean technology in his damn brain, and has killed a shitload of Reapers single handedly. Without Shepard, the Galaxy would have been blindsided and quickly picked off by the Reapers. Also, he delayed the Reaper threat and allowed the Alliance and other races 2 years to prepare, instead of 2 minutes.
>>609227455 Well. To be fair, nobody would have listened if Shepard wasn't alive. Granted, no one listened while he WAS alive, Shepard was the ONLY soldier bad-ass enough and WILLING to do what it takes to defeat the collectors and lead the fight against the reapers.
Do you HONESTLY think that they would have had as good of or a better chance without Shepard?
Udina would have sold everyone out, Cerberus would have turned everyone into Husks and the Collectors would have been on the other end abducting people to make reapers to kill Cerberus. Come on now.
>>609227031 That about that too but it would be just like the ME 3 ending. One could argue that they could just approach us and teach us about the Dangers instead of killing Billions throughout the Galaxy.
>>609223468 The advantage of Mass Effect is that you can apply your character's attitude to everyday life. I'm headed off to the Canadian Forces soon, and I'm thinking of getting a black-and-white Paragon tattoo on my right ribcage. My Shepard became that much of a hero for me.
>>609227639 What? No.... The Reapers are an ancient race of AI. They use live organics and indoctrination to clear out bunkers, underground passageways, and places that the GIANT FUCKING REAPERS can't fit into. Keep in mind that they MUST KILL EVERY SINGLE LIFE FORM that is advanced.
>>609227748 See bioware should have hired this nigga to do the story. Makes way more sense. Reapers harvest every 50k years because they know (from experience) that it takes 100k years or whatever for life to evolve to a point where they can use dark energy to become immensely powerful - powerful as the reapers. Maybe the reapers were just the first intelligent life, now they jealously guard their power.
>>609228009 No. Organics are too unpredictable. Their calculations obviously saw that educating us would only lead to demise and chaos. They are the most advanced form of AI in the history of the universe. They have thought of everything.
>>609227331 But only with a Big Budet, maybe as a Mini series like Band of Brothers. i dont wnat to see the Citadel or the Normandy made by some cheap shit Animations. Same with the Make Up / CGI for Garrus and the other Aliens.
>>609227773 My other major poblem with the ME story arc is how Cerberus switches from being total bad guys to total good guys to total bad guys again. And how the hell did they morph from being a small cell-based organization in ME2 to a shock-troop military force in ME3? What the fuck?
The only reason they did that is because they realized you'd need a human-type adversary. In ME you had Saren, ME2 you had Harbinger >who you don't even get to fight or anything, how retarded was that and they realized giant 1-kilometer long sentient machines don't make the best enemies in a squad based shooter.
Cerberus could've taken out the Collectors without Shepard. As for the Reapers and everything, it's pure speculation, but I think they would've had a shot. There other Soldiers just as capable as Shepard. Anderson, for instance.
>>609227692 It's about proving that organics can be indoctrinated with enough pushing. All they would have done is either KILLED him or used him against his own people.
>>609227773 I felt bad for him because he actually cared about humanity. >>609227869 Tali is SUCH a fucking sweetheart. Not to mention how funny she is when she drinks. PLUS with geth help in 4-5 years, she will no longer need her suit. >>609227967 HAhahaha. This dude gets it. >>609228153 I'm thinking about getting an N7... but a paragon might be a good idea too. >>609228206 Dude. FUCK Bioware.
>>609228642 Well. Make a movie based on Shepards background and how he survived Akuze, Skyllian Blitz, all that. Then make a series with the first season being based on finding a crew to take out a rogue spectre, and it goes on.
>>609228848 No. No one is anywhere near as capable as shepard.
