From there i would create teams that would go out and search for food and supplies, team A goes in the morning Team B in the afternoon, Team C in the evening.

Wisconsinfag here, quick response is key. I would pack my car with what I think I would need only, no shit on the roof or anything outside the car unless i'm prepared to let looters steal it. Next i'd fuel up and fill 2 5 gallon cans while i'm there, last would be to stop at the local Walmart and at least try for more supplies. You never know, I could make it there 30 minutes to an hour after the news breaks and things could still be relatively calm. I would bring minimal water; this is the midwest, you can't go 10 feet without running into a lake or stream.

Final part of the plan; head east, shoot for Maine if I can make it. I drive an 03 diesel VW wagon, I can make it 700 miles on one tank, add 10 gallons to that and my range would be somewhere between 1000-1200 miles

Don't stop for shit, avoid the freeways and major cities, country highways only. I should be able to make it there within 24 hours. Making a case for whatever community I end up in to keep me shouldn't be too difficult, I've been in the military for 4 years and have been a paramedic for 3.

An explosion, even one of the magnitude that the super volcano would emit, would be unlikely to cause other volcanoes to erupt, volcanoes are based upon a pressure system within a contained environment. Of course it could cause openings, or allow the magma to be exposed to viscous materials, but the real issue wouldn't be other volcanoes, but rather earthquakes.
