Have medical questions? General questions? Ask Dr. Chan.
Yes, I'm a real doctor. If you put your age, sex, and meds you're on, it'll expedite the process.
I take payment in the form of amusing pics.
Keep the thread bumped if you want an answer.
I don't mind if you chime in with advice, but don't be a twat and pretend to be me.

How should I deal with my gender dysphoria? I'm 18, and thus still young. However, I am unsure if I want to go so far as a full operation, (mostly due to the expensive cost.) Should I consider some hormone therapy? some estrogen?

Use Preparation H. There is a cream form of it and the applicator probably makes it a lot easier to use than aloe vera. Plus, it will shrink your blood vessels and lessen the bleeding. Aloe isn't going to do much.
Get it at any pharmacy.

Your psychologist says drugs are a bad idea?
Switch psychologists. That is a psychiatrist's decision. Also, first line therapy for anxiety is SSRIs (like citalopram), not the benzodiazepines (like Xanax) that people are so fond of.
Also, booze will make your anxiety worse over the long run, anon. Please try to quit or at least cut down.
You can do it.

I mostly use suppositories at this point as they make the bleeding go down quite a bit. I don't strain to shit and my body isn't in pain (neither is my asshole) so I'm pretty much just experiencing rectal blood issues.

I have for many months, and nothing else is wrong with me. I literally have no symptoms aside from that - and it goes down when I use suppositories.

I'll try PH if this treatment fails. If all else fails I'll go to the doctors, but medical and economy issues in the U.S. are a nigger.

Immensely. The bacteria on your skin eats the sweat that comes out of your armpits. If you use antiperspirant, they have less to eat, and you will smell less badly.
Works on feet, too.

I think social anxiety is a decent guess. Have you ever talked to a medical professional about it? It makes sense to get a diagnosis so you can get appropriate help, anon.

I was 15 when I first started crossdressing. I didn't think much of it, I just saw it as a costume to make sexy times sexier. But then I ended up really liking how it felt. Not even in a sexual way, but it just felt... right, somehow, to be girly, and a girl. I started to switch back and forth regularly, and saw "girl time" as a sort of vacation, like a vacation from my own self. Nowadays I still switch back and forth, and genuinely feel like I am either gender, depending on what time it is.

If you go on hormones, won't they make you feel weird when you want to be a man?

Here lately (the past few months) I've been taking a lot of large shits.
Used to be I'd pop one every other day, now its two or three times a day.

>>606351403
If it doesn't hurt you or cause big problems, I wouldn't worry about it.
Your poop is almost entirely composed of bacteria (although fiber will make you poop more), so it's not necessarily proportional to how much you eat.

You may have a cold or a sinus infection or throat infection. However, if it's getting better, I generally tell people not to worry about it.
If it gets worse, go to the doctor.
It's usually not a big deal unless the lymph nodes are swollen for more than a week or two.

>>
>>606354602
Yes, the ring. Poor guys were pretty embarrassed.
If your scalp is a little flaky, it's not dry. You probably have mild dandruff. Try Head and Shoulders shampoo. Also, you should wash it every other day (more if you're greasy).
People think that "washing every day will make it more oily." Not true. Your body doesn't have "oil receptors" that will say "hey, there isn't enough oil up here!" Your skin makes oil as a result of what's happening internally. Too hot, hormones, etc.

Girlfriend had a yeast infection the week before her period. Got one pill to take for it mid week perscribed, and one more to take just in case. This was on thursday of last week and she took it that day, second one that monday. We tried to have sex (we haven't for a month and are both pretty anxious to relieve tension) but whilst foreplay went on she said it hurt and we stopped. We are both pretty frustrated. It has now been 5 days since she took the second pill. Is it safe for us to have sex yet?

So, hey, is it really true that dehydration increases blood alcalinity preventing the metabolization of carbonic acid, which is the rate-limiting factor for the production of serotonin from 5-hydroxltriptophan and dopamine from levodopa? Cause that'd mean that coffee causes depression.

Your body has evolved to efficiently reuse the same molecules over and over again in different places. You have serotonin receptors in your stomach and in your brain. If I give you drugs that stimulate serotonin receptors, they are specific enough to not cross over.

Hydration is not a day to day thing in the sense that water today will make your hands less dry today. You need to be hydrated for two weeks straight (or so) before you'll really start seeing the effect.
Try this: buy a cheap pair of gloves and a thick hand cream. Before bed, put a very thick layer of cream on (Eucerin is a good brand) , then put the gloves on. Sleep. After a few days you should see a difference.

I wouldn't take more than 600 mg daily without having your levels checked. Magnesium toxicity, while rare, is bad news. If you go to the doctor, they can prescribe you higher levels, but they'd do a quick blood test.

Sometimes I inject myself with illegal anesthetics to get to sleep because I suffer from sleep paralysis about once a month and fine when I use drugs, I don't get sleep paralysis.

Propofol, Ketamine, Buprenorphine, others I won't mention because the list is long and I specifically use drugs IV to knock my ass clean out.

What is my best drug of choice to keep from suffering from sleep paralysis?

Yes. I'm self medicated. Suck it.

>>606362976
Yup.
>>
>>606362759
I don't think so.
What I think is happening is you're tripping your baroreceptors in your blood vessels. These vessels dilate and contract the vessels according to your blood pressure. If they dilate, it gives you a shitty headache.
I recommend taking to a cardiologist if it persists and causes you a lot of problems. I don't think it's dangerous, though.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. This isn't really my area of expertise.

Doctors do nothing and tell you they can't treat sleep paralysis. Especially since my case is monthly and not daily.

Yet I'm afraid to go to sleep because of it, and find the only way to sleep regularly is to do this.

I used to take sleeping pills with diphenhydramine, but found that my tolerance grew to a level to where it did nothing and I had an episode one night so stopped.

I bought diphenhydramine liquid from a dealer to IV one night and found it nocked me out pretty ok but my fear of using it is still apparent and I have shunned any pills to help my problem.

Pills don't help. Only IV drugs do. I've had to many episodes to want to take pills, I have never had an episode a night I have IV'd a drug.

Weed helps me sleep, but I found I still have episodes while smoking daily, even regularly.

SO as asked first. Best IV drug I can use to prevent sleep paralysis.

Various and numerous muscle relaxants that don't put me to sleep. Various Benzos that have done nothing but keep me high and then make me sleep for 3 hours and make me groggy when I wake up. I don't like pill, I have stopped taking pills since 18.
Potassium Bromide
Meloxicam was nice, but hard to find and I don't like taking it since it is addictive, but have bought 3 bottles before I think they were 50mg each. Lasted me quite a while and I enjoyed using it, but I don't want to get addicted to anything.

I don't like pills. IV knocks me out the best and always works, ever since age 17. I want to know the best and safest IV drug though. Ketamine makes my head feel weird but doses of 150mg knock me clean out if I don't build a tolerance and use it every night.
(Which I have done)
Other drugs I have tried are spacy or have left me in a state of "What the hell is happening for 5-6 hours"

I want a drug that I don't have to keep looking for.

I want to know what is best to IV to knock me out regularly with no adverse effects and very little tolerance, its the only thing that has worked time and time again, and no doctor could convince me otherwise.

Good question. No clear answers.
It depends a lot on how well controlled you can get your depression. If your meds help, and you're doing things in your life to help your depression (exercise, socializing, not being a huge boozehound) you have a pretty good chance of not having recurring psychosis and eventually getting off of your meds.
If you don't take your meds, are not on effective ones, or don't take care of yourself, you could have more episodes or be on SSRIs for a long, long time.
How are you doing, anon?
>>
>>606366104
Meloxicam is an NSAID, like ibuprofen.
Now, get a sleep study. You CAN get help from a doctor who knows what they're talking about. You do not want to be on syringes for the rest of your life.
All that being said, what would I do if I were you? Probably propofol*.
Stay away from ketamine.

Not bad, round two of school for Eng, under doctor's care. Minor dip during end of midterms/runup to exams but nothing like before when I dropped out/got weird. Even then I was alternatively lucid/understood shit wasn't right, but certainly had my moments. Messages from the tv, delusions of poverty, fear of government officials, fear for the global/country's food supply kinda stuff, etc.. Never actually got hospitalized as I was too paranoid about being committed to let on the extent of things until after the fact so the diagnosis is in retrospective. On SSRI plus low dose risperidone.

Also, I have taken (stolen) various SSRI from my mother (left me with head changes and migraines episodes happened 3 days after stopping I think I was 17). I have tried xanex but will never do that ever again.
I have tried a lot, and when I was 16-18 I have probably tried a lot I shouldn't have, which is a reason I shun pills like the plague, its a god sent I have not ever shot up black tar heroin or anything with the people I have to deal with to get what I have gotten because its been offered like a million times.

Like I said, I IV I don't pop pills anymore. Pills scare me, they aren't something I want to go back too. Nor would ever want to be prescribed.

Do you believe that medical marijuana if given in recommended THC dose levels, could replace a significant amount of anti anxiety medications? Pain Killers (esp opiate based) ?
>>
>>606367953
Generally, I'm pro-marijuana. I think it's a lot less of a problem than alcohol.
As for anxiety: back in the pre-doctor days I tried it and it made me paranoid as hell. People tell me it works for them sometimes, even though I haven't experienced it.
Pain killers? The problem with using opioids or booze for anxiety is that it makes it worse in the long run. Much worse. Then you get addicted.
If weed works for you, then you're going to do what you're going to do. I don't think it's really bad for you, but I don't think it's going to replace anti-anxiety meds, either. There are a lot of studies to back up SSRI's efficacy. I think they will be the gold standard.

I have only ever had one bottle of Propofol. 200mg bottle, 20ml.
It was like heaven in a bottle. 1ml worked quite well, but it took about 20-30 minutes to drift to sleep. Never suffered
I think its been 4 months since I have had it. No one has yet to offer it again.

Last episode was 2 months ago 4 days after I had been up for 2 days.

I find that laying on my side or laying any way makes no difference, and I have a very high fear of sleeping every night.

No one knows, no one on /b/ unless they have it every night could ever know the fear that is Sleepy Paralysis.
I can't even begin to describe the horror here.

I have screamed for 8 hours straight laying next to the woman I love begging her to wake me up or just.. The barrier between reality and what is and isn't doesn't exist sometimes when episodes happen, I can't even describe how painful it is to think of sleep.

I have a problem, yes, but the only thing a sleep study would do is show that I have normal sleep patterns and normal REM sleep. The longest I have gone was when I was 14 and didn't have an episode for 6 months, then WHAM back to reality and it occouring at least once every month.

I feel safe, and it just happens. I can't control it, I can't do anything but fear it. Fear sleep every night. Its like I'm playing a cruel game with god but I'm never in control.
