In the centre of the black hole there is incredibly dense point called singularity. Because of it's density, singularity has strong gravitational field that doesn't even allow light particles - photons to escape. Event horizont is a sphere around singularity where photons are “orbiting" around singularity - gravity is strong enough to pull photons, but weak enough not to suck them in. Different scientists have different theories what would happen if you go through event horizont, but we probably won't know that in our lifetime.

Okay, So I had this theory on the singularity a couple of years back. Being sitting on it since. You /b/tards get to hear it now.
So, the singularity is actually a wormhole to a parallel universe. When you say that the singularity has incredible density, what you're actually doing is you're measuring the overall mass of the parallel universe and dividing it by the size volume of the singularity (almost negligible) which gives an almost infinite density to the singularity. Gravity is strong because it is directly proportional to the mass of the body which is exerting the gravitational force (the whole of the other universe in this case). So, there is nothing special about the singularity. It is just a hole in our universe connecting to one of the other parallel universe.
