I'd be curious how different the responses would be if we took out all MMORPGs, the CoDs and TF2s...basically any game with on-line components. The experience of playing with others is not the same as single player games.

Fallout 3 is the only game I've 100%'d the cheezemints and all DLC.

The other two big ones would be the original Final Fantasy Tactics (my game file was hundreds of hours) and Parasite Eve - which I played over and over for ten years to level all the way up to 99 in order to beat the "real" ending.

I finally managed to quit, after probably a similar amount of time. I was actually trying to get a server up and running with my friends, they just graduated from uni and left town, I wanted a way to keep in touch regularly and play some games.

Eh, NV had no flavour. It was a distinctly improved engine, and I think hardcore mode was a significant improvement to the game, but it just didn't have the quality of story telling, in the main quest, side quests or random details of the world.

Technically speaking, it was the better game, but Fallout 3 was much more fun. I really hope that the Bethesda announcement at E3 is Fallout 4 on an engine heavily inspired by NV.

Team Fortress 2, I have about 2300+ hrs because everything was so magical back then. Being new, exploring the maps, not knowing where the fuck to go, it was so fresh and just enthralled me to no end. And also the awesome people I meet and the shenanigans that ensue afterwards. Good fucking times.

Recently im completely absorbed in X com long war mod.

When I finished enemy within my biggest complaint was how short the game was.
Its not ridiculously short like a console game. But it was such a good game I didnt want it to stop.

Long war slows the whole pace of the game down and adds more missions, weapons, skills, bigger squad size. more of everything really.

One of the things about getting older is that you just don't have the time to play any more. (Oldfag here: early 40s - I'm also the Dino-hunter from above.)

I'm currently playing Dark Souls 1 and am about 200 hours total; first game was about 90 hours and then my game save corrupted (even though I didn't exit while it was saving) so I had to start again. At the moment, I'm in the Duke's Archives at the bonfire in the cell with the three crystal soldiers inside and two snake men outside that make a run for the ladder. I found that if you sit at the bonfire while you're outside the cell, the snake men just stand there and you can wail on them, backstab, etc. So, while I'm on the phone, I'll farm them and the crystal guys for souls and repeat. Been doing this for a couple days now.

I have several games that I haven't even opened yet; instead, I tend to play games where I can do those mindless, repetitive things (soul farming, dino-hunting) while I'm doing something else.
