I know that the markets are not anticipating a disruptive alternative power source being viable on the horizon *at all*.

The argument is that a disruptive change is increasingly plausible because of the slow incremental improvements in solar and the relatively small barriers between where it is today where it needs to be to threaten oil. Those barriers aren't small in the sense that no-one knows how to breach them. But they're small in that a few unpredicted breakthroughs would be enough and people are researching in this area right now.

So again, how stable is your petrodollar looking over the next decade? the next 20 years?
