God tier albums thread
posting my favorite from the old thread just to get everybody comfortable
also, thanks guy who posted tropical island house music for me, making me a very happy drunk person. please come back lol
said this in last thread but i humbly propose that dog blood is superior to jack u in every way
still here haha, gonna go to bed soon but im listening to that royksopp album now
holy shit i almost overlooked this, have something great in return
The birth of metal. Easily God tier.
so far its awesome, havent heard a bad song yet. melody am (the song) is up there with poor leno for me now too, i guess its not even on that album but it was in the related videos on youtube
i feel you, im also kind of biased because i dislike diplo and i saw dog blood live and had an amazing time
anyways im going to sleep now, peace
(Royksopp) whoa, hang on, have to be honest.... after all of my years with Royksopp, I have no idea which song is called "Melody A.M."
I feel like it's one of the songs off Melody A.M., first song maybe, but either way this might be a little hard to figure out.
anyway, these guys are geniuses lol. it's a duo! both are great.
damn this is good. before i go to sleep i have to also recommend GK- Little Learners. technically it's an EP not an album but its fucking awesome, also glitch type stuff
I don't know why it has been so long since I've gone to /b/ or /mu/ and looked for music.
this stuff is so great, i feel like it has been a part of my life for decades. is it the alcohol? i don't know. either way, thanks guys.
my teenage years would have had much better music had I known that.
thanks for that
I dunno. Maybe if I hadn't of been told they were better than Slayer, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Death I wouldn't be like this. Guy who told me that was a fucking Hipster God.
Both are French, and they can be linked (Daft Punk more closely than Justice i.m.o.) to the French Touch, the early 2000 current that is probably one of the best things France has brought to music. So yeah, I must say I really like Daft Punk as well. You'll find Cassius, Etienne de Crecy and more recently M83 as big references over there
i actually have no idea what that album was, but i felt the desire to defend my threadmates with my legs as fighting tools. please inform me.
I know what i did, I am sorry.
??? me again? I dunno, I'm the guy who kept posting Royksopp, Bonobo, and Ian Pooley in a trio. I am definitely not the OP though. I just think OP is a pretty cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything.
Deja Entendu is probably my 2nd favorite album ever.
Pic related is hands-down #1 though.
i'll throw this in too
maybe pioneer isnt the right word, legends i guess. looked at as sort of paradigms or something of the sort if that makes sense
Everybody around me has been blown away by The City. I'm not a huge fan but that's personal preference and I can see the quality of it. Etienne de Crecy is the other end of the spectrum, very metallic, electronic (Binary, for ex.)
Cassius is more of an emblem, very colourful, founding father of the French touch sort of, if I remember correctly. Not many songs though.
Try Ed Banger records if you like that kind of music and don't know it
the guy who said ">pioneers"
"greater than" meaning "implying," "implying engineers" was a cunty thing to say. i'll be damned if Daft Punk did not inspire millions. They fuckin did. :D
Not me. There's always an artist before another artist, sometimes many in the shadow of one. The fact they probably stole the thunder of some other dudes doesn't prevent me from liking them though. Copycats eeeverywhere (remember the Beatles and the Yardbirds)
Now I'd actually happy to find out whom they outrageously copied from. Must be good music
hahaha. yeah, yeah same. pretty lights fuckin rules by the way! did you know they are doing this outrageous live band shit nowadays? putting on fantastic shows with full orchestras. a lot of it is going on in Colorado.
thats why i said pioneer might not be the perfect word although id still say it fits. even if they didnt invent their styles out of the blue, they are the ones that stand above the rest and theres a reason for that
another great album but id have to say his first is the best
pretty lights is the fucking man, talk about pioneers. did you see the documentary for how he made a color map of the sun? he did everything analog which is insanely complicated and got tons of musicians to come in and just kind of improvise stuff that he later altered to make the songs
##卍卍 YOU HAVE BEEN VISITED BY LE MOTH OF AUSCHWITZ 卍卍##
POST THIS IN 3 THREADS OR I WILL FLUTTER INTO YOUR ROOM AT NIGHT AND LEAVE TRACES OF JEW ASH ON YOUR COMPUTER MONITOR
i did not see this, but now i really want to. will you link me before i have to google it and luck out?
ehehehe i really like the GK Little Learners, too. My brother saw the amazing Pretty Lights show in Colorado. All I know is that it was broken into 3 parts -
1. Just Pretty Lights
2. Pretty Lights with additional help
3. Full Orchestra
sounds like fucking musical orgasm all over the place. Some day I'll see one of those shows hahaha
here you go my nigga https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C402fprLRDw
and i'm glad you like the GK, he goes by Griz now. robotronic and jelly fish have got to be my favorite tracks from that ep
nobody hurt me. anybody get greatly turned on to Electronic music through Crystal Castles?
hell ya, maybe not first turned onto it by them but i listened to them a lot in my earlier days. same with starfucker
shit i had actually kind of forgotten about that one and its definitely tied for all time favorite. can't believe i left that one out
ya seriously, and it's funny because him doing that actually makes me want to give him money to show support whereas when artists charge for their songs i'm just gonna download them for free somewhere
