It's great depending on what kind of films you're into. If you're someone who's adamant that the Fast & Furious series was the best thing ever conceived then you're probably not going to enjoy this all that much. It's got massive replay value and the cast is on point. Then again I've never seen a David Fincher film I didn't think was based as fuck so I'm probably a little biased.

I wouldn't go that far. certainly not one of his best that's only because he's made so many great ones. But far from his weakest. I thought it was ok. the performances by DiCaprio and Jonah Hill were also spectacular. DiCaprio always gives top notch performances. it's ridiculous that he doesn't have an oscar yet.
As far as Scorsese's weakest I would say After Hours in my opinion but it was still enjoyable.

i've been a huge fan of Lynch since I watched Eraserhead, which was the first Lynch movie for me. Mulholland Drive was my favorite before I watched Inland Empire. Lynch is a master of unsettling atmospheres and feelings of dread. Everything I loved and filled me with anxious suspense about Mulholland is present in Inland Empire tenfold. to the point that by the end I felt like my mind was fucking haunted. no other Lynch movie left me feeling so fucked up, or any movie for that matter, except maybe Synechdoche New York, but that was more depressing than unsettling.

well if you like Blue Velvet and Mulholland I don't see why you couldn't get into Inland Empire. there are alot of parallels between them.
Also it helps that I was a big fan of Laura Dern. especially in Inland Empire. her performance was spectacular as always, and haunting.

I guess to sum it up I love Inland Empire for the feeling of dread it instills in me.

it's hard to boil synechdoche down to a nutshell, but i thought the whole movie was about death. my friend's dad thought it was completely about life. and our hour long debate led me to believe it's actually about you the viewer as you watch it. the entire film depends on your personal connections and ability to emotionally relate to a pretty trippy metaphoric sequence of non-linear imagery.
