Save up 500 dollars buy a factory new Glock. Glocks are great pistols for the price. If you can't afford a Glock, then you can get a shitty hi-point for like less than 300 dollars. Now hi-points aren't exactly shitty pistols, I own one and that thing has never jammed on me, but you can't lug that piece of your person to save your life, it's just too damn big.

You can also get a Mosin Nagant for like 150 dollars, you'll have to the strip the kosmoline off, but that's not too hard, and the bullet will pretty much punch through anything.

Sure.. the Hi Point 9mm is a decent pistol if you're shooting 115gr fmj rounds and that's it. The moment you try to put a heavier load/ hollow points in that fucker it will jam every 5th round or so...

A decent low cost pistol (low cost being ~250) would be a used Walther P22 or P380, a Ruger LCP 380 or a Taurus 9mm subcompact. All of these are carry/concealable, are WAY fucking better weapons, and dont jam as much

It was my first handgun and I am extremely familiar with it and can handle it quite well. Once I put in more range time with my 1911 I will be switching over and make my P345 strictly a range gun.
